Got the following after a posting on Craigslist for a car - googled the number and found this thread - AWESOME work all of you! My issue is that this came from "Jeff Bnaks" or Jeff Banks - and the yahoo address is jeffbnks1@yahoo.com and disturbingly is DOMAIN KEYS VERIFIED - I am sending this email and the thread to Yahoo.

We rec'd today the same identical email in response to craigslist in Va.  Not knowing, I wrote back and said I would accept cash only.  This was same email with Secretary, draft, mover and check via usps.  His name is Fredrick Miller and same phone #/

i got the same email as everyone else, i just thought something smelled fishy about this guy he said his name is Frank to me.

No phone number or hearing impairment is mentioned but other than that the emails are identical to the others mentioned here. My fiance corresponded with this scammer for almost 2 months before he just suddenly stopped sending us emails.  I guess Kelly not only changed her name but has also changed her gender...

Please pay off the Western Union charges from the remaining fund after
you must have deducted your money and the $100 that is to cover the
cost of your run around. I will have my mover call you as soon as you
send the money so that you can conclude on the pick up.

A scammer with the email address peter_miller35@yahoo.com gave me this phone number because he says he's hearing impaired. He answered our posted ad on CraigsList and gave us a similar story that I just read about that was posted by someone else. He said the bank accidentally sent a $2000 "draft" instead of the $350 we asked for and could we please cash it at our bank then take the remainder to Western Union addressed to his "pick up man"...blah blah blah...so report it.

Seems like he got a new email adress

Yay LOL I also got some weird MSG regarding my phone
Beware that the same scammer has ads to rent houses
And asks u to mail the money to him on some weird country

GOT TO BE A SCAM!!!!

I received two phone calls on 6/5/09, one from a Best Buy out of Michigan where an order was placed from Florida for a Nintendo ($400.00 and something), the other from Provantage Corp. where they placed another call from Florida for an expensive ink cartridge. They both said the orders seemed suspicious. They apparently obtained my credit card number somehow. The one lady from Provantage Corp. told me they tried to use a relay service claiming they were deaf. She also gave me some info: Soft Layer Technologies Inc. USA, I.P. address: 75.126.32.187, VLadiamir R., 951-566-4859, RioDave80@yahoo.com. I researched some info so far and came up with an internet Provider somewhere in China, and some address in Dallas Texas 1950 Stemmons Freeway Suite 2043 and some relationship to some junk emails claiming to be from the U.K., Nigeria, Australia, Canada, all scam emails.

I see a lot of you have been scammed by answering emails about something you had for sale on Craig's List, but I am here to tell you I haven't tried to sell anything on Craig's List. What I do know is that I have been getting a lot of emails from Claiming to be from Nigeria, U.K., the F.B.I. and so forth usually I just filter them out, but they keep coming as different email addresses. Finally, I decided to respond with nothing more than an F.U. The next day, that morning, I get the calls that someone suspicious has tried to use one of my credit cards in which has never been lost or stolen, but has been used to make a couple of purchases on the internet and the acct. number sits in My Documents. Also, has been put on file with Pay Pal, but I have two different credit cards on file with Pay Pal, and the other has not been jeopardized, so I don't think that's it. What I do think is that this is a highly sophisticated organization, and that when you open up an email, they have your I.P. address and know everything about your computer's system and are able to attack it in some way and attach a spy ware cookie of some sort and see all the places you go to on your computer. I am going to now delete my cookies, and am considering an I.P. blocker type of software or have my I.P. address changed if that is possible. This situation to me is very scary.

Well its June 2009 and its still going on....ran an ad on C/L received the same e-mail as shown in the comments section.....watch out!!!!

My husband posted a filing cabinet on craigslist and got the e-mail about movers, being deaf and secretaries drafting checks.  We're in Tulsa OK.  Apparently these idiots are not intelligent enough to change the phone number.  Now they are going by Tommy Paul.

sent me the same email word for word and then it hit me...... why the [***] would a deaf guy need a 5 string bass and amp????? .....rolf!
