Recieved call from Matt with girl in backgroud giggling stating that it was a collect call from Franklin County in Ohio on both my business phone and my cell phone

i have been getting calls from this number. i know who it is but my question is what detention center is he calling me from.

Nor do I want one I got charged 4.82 no authority was given
I DO NOT know anyone in jail or prison

I received a call yesterday from this # .It ask if I would accept a collect call from an inmate,I hung up tried calling back and was ask if I wanted to set up an account using my  number,I just hung up,they called back to day I just hung up.

please i would like for some one to let me know if  this ph # is a good # for  any type of correctional center  and what state the center is in. i need to talk to a live person

Got one today.  You'll hear a name and a correctional facility and some menu options.  I recognized the name and the location and took the call.  It was a "friend" who's got himself in jail and was calling me for help.  Legitimate enough, but, if you look at other postings here (and elsewhere), it's obvious that you've got a lot of people in jail dialing at random as a form of amusement.  If you don't recognize the voice and the name and have good reason to think that that person is in that jail, don't accept the call.  It's collect.  You can push a key (8) for rates; I didn't.  When I see the charge on my phone bill, I may get back.  Someone else was saying ten bucks.  My friend was thinking more like $25.

I have been getting repeated calls from this number beginning today. Someone is locked up in an Arizona county jail and calling.

No one I know is incarcerated and the call starts with a recording to permanently block the caller from that number. Since I was busy, I did not answer.

Here is the company that is responsible for that telephone number. They apparently contract out to jails and prisons for inmate calling privileges. The calls can be from inmates anywhere in the U.S. and the company in based in Texas.

This is a Jail/Prison inmate calling. My boyfriend is in Jail in Maryland, but sometimes all of the phone lines in the jail are being used, so they are calling from an alternate phone number

i push ok and it disconect the call i dont know how is calling

Dan, thank you sooo much for that posting !!!!! I called them and they were very helpful !!!! Told me where the call originated from and blocked it permanently ... and if I ever get another call they will block that also.. so again, thank you !!!!!!!

The problem is, if you do know someone in prison, and I believe these people know who does, then it causes worry and confusion, and I'm sure a lot of people give their credit card, because the are worried about their loved one. My son is in an East Texas facility. My sister got a call from this number today. She missed the call, but listened to the recording. It said it was from an East Texas Jail Facility, but the person did not sound like my son, and the name was very hard to make out. I was worried sick, because my son doesn't call. We write him, and visit when we can, but this system is so expensive that we do not use it. When my son was in County jail, he called my sister's number collect. This was a totally different county over 100 miles away so whoever called her knew to say East Texas, even though the number is a Dallas phone number.

If you don't know the person calling, which most of the people here don't, then it's either a scam or a very annoying problem. If you have a loved one in a state facility, then it is also worrisome.
