Got 2 calls from this number no clue who it is and they keep asking to put money on the phone

I get several of these calls a day - sometimes 6-8 a day.  I'm so sick of it - there is no one there that I know.  It has to be a scam - don't pick it up.  I'm ready to change my number.

I got about 10 of these calls on my cell phone a few days ago. Wouldn't stop calling. After it went to voicemail a few times I decided to pick up and attempt to use the block option but it required a PIN so I hung up.

Don't know anyone in prison so I'm assuming it's a wrong number or just a random dial. Very weird. I thought I read online they need to submit the numbers before and that they can't call cell phones.

I just went ahead and blocked the number on my phone and haven't had any issues since.

Says they are from new berry county jail with an inmate collect call

i received 4 calls from this same number stating it is a michigan correctional facility. i call it back and it says facility account. who is making these calls. getting tired of it

I do know someone in the MDOC system. The call went to my answering machine. It was indeed the person I know incarcerated and in his voice. The weird part for me is the phone number in which this call came from, being a Texas area code and the name that appears on caller i.d. was Charles. The message said the call was free to accept for the first minute and then said we could report it if we were being victimized. I am a bit skeptical from reading all these posts. But my call was from a know person.

Does any one know the address to this number? my friend was moved and I am trying to write him a letter but don't know the new address. he just called me today from this number

It would seem to be the Michigan Dept. of Correction according to many posts on here for this number.

I've received 4 calls from this number is identified as "OFFENDER CALLER" and I hear a recorded message telling me that this call is from an inmate and the inmate identifies his name as "Chris"...Of course I don't know anyone incarcerated so I just hung up.

They asked if I would except a call from Abumala. They said it was the Michigan State Correctional and an inmate was trying to get ahold of me.

I have received 6 calls from this number this morning. I do have a Michigan phone number but don't know anyone who is in jail. Figured it was just someone calling the wrong number but now not so sure.

Someone called from this # twice in the last 2 days. Same MO as the other reports on here.

Michigan Correctional Facilities are a private prison system operated by a firm out of Dallas, Texas.

Oh, I got a friend in prison, and GTL is running this call service.  I prepay it, at 1 800 483 8314, to be able to recieve calls from him.  Sometimes the inmate, or your loved one can call you through, paying money from their canteen..  So, you should answer the call...

Yeah, but if you listen to it...  You can block it...
