This number calls me often.  Regardless if I answer or let it go to voice mail, there is never anyone there.  As others have tried, calling back only results in a recording saying the number is no longer is service or has been disconnected.  Either way, that could be a ploy to throw you off the track, or they are spoofing the area code of a known disconnected number, as others have indicated.

I am not sure how to block numbers on my cell phone, but as one who is on the Do Not Call registry, it is VERY frustrating to have annoying calls like this take place.  Additionally, the fact that no one can seem to figure out where the calls are originating from is disturbing.  

I'm grateful to not have crude conversations with these people, but they do tend to call at random times throughout the day.  Sometimes multiple times in a day, then not again for quite some time.  As others have said, I don't understand the point in calling to hang up.  Disturbing.

They called my house earlier in the week at 930pm when i was at work, they told my wife there was an issue with our computer and for my wife to go to a website and they can look at our computer, my wife hung up. Then they made the mistake of calling me when I was home, after listening to her YELL at me saying I needed to get to my computer right away because of a virus that they needed to fix. I figured I would have some fun with her, I asked her which computer was infected, she said it didnt matter I just needed to get one of them up and running. so i told her i was on one but it had been off and not used for months, and the fact that i use my computer at work and my cell phone for internet is why i didnt use it often. So after having more fun with her and pretty much me and my buddy laughing out of control asking her dumb questions, I told her that noone is dumb enough to go to a site like that and my virus protecion on my computer alerts me and DOESNT call me. She got VERY irritated because obviously i made her waste 5 minutes of her time, and i told her i was going to call the police about her number because I was searching online while i was on the phone with her and saw they were running a scam and when i told her this she got pissed and told me shes from a goverment agency trying to help people, she sounded like she was going to cry. So i nicely told her dont bother me again or i was going to hunt her down and call her late at night.

Needless to say i am sitting here by the phone now.....waiting for a call.

but when i did call back right away it was shut off for calls.

Same clown using this number also calls  from 210 301 0307, 973 735 5438, and 732 508 7334. He is someone with an east indian accent and claims to be a representative calling in regard to an outstanding debt for thousands of dollars and is willing to settle immediately but needs credit info to process payment. This guy is a total fake not to mention [***]. I have enjoyed calling him often and hasseling him and letting him enjoy what its like to be messed with. Report this info to the FTC and give this guy crap. If you look up these numbers they are all different scams and if you can provoke him and get him to call you back he uses multiple numbers and has multiple scams. He is a coward at best give him an earfull!

Didn't answer because I didn't recognise the #. The answering machine came on & we could hear all kinds of background noise (People talking).  This went on until the answering machine cut off.  Looked up the # on reverse look-up and it said it was private.  No idea who they are or what they want.

I keep getting calls from this number on my cell phone first i just didnt answer but it started pissing me off so i picked up a couple of times and went thru the automated system to remove my number, the calls kept coming. So I went thru and talked to someone told them to stop calling my cell phone- did this 2x, they keep calling!!!!  I am thinking next time getting a live person and just screaming as high and as loud as I can- maybe they will never want to call back :)

In the past two days, they called me twice. One left a message in my phone. The other one sounds like Pegpy (Discovery Card TV ads). I just hang up and laugh.

Just filed another complaint at the governments do not call web site which is what I suggest anyone reading this also should do - https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx - maybe if the gov gets enough complaints they will investigate and shut these people down.

They called me under the pretense of wanting my email address to send me some type of an award. Told them to remove me from their list but the Indian or Chinese guy did not understand what I was asking and kept asking me for my email address.

Got a call from this foreign dick telemarketer trying to send me a "free" $200 gas card.  I told him to go "screw"!  Total scam.  Report this Mutha!

Called @ 8:30 pm on 9/27/10. My Dad picked up the phone and got no answer. The call came from New Jersey.

SCAM!!! Claim I owe money, and will be "prostituted out until the debt is paid"!!! They will "come to my home and rape and murder" us if we do not pay immediately! Lol...I love these folks. And what does anyone do? Nothing, I've reported each of their phone numbers. This is a landline, but they have a cell phone associated with it 917-210-0479. Both are disconnected every time I try to call back, but work perfectly well when they call me...interesting.

I  received a call from this number today but was not at home to accept call. When I tried to call back a recording came on to say that I had " reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service, if you feel you have reached this recording in error, Please try your call again " Well I tried the call again, and same message came through again. I agree with everyone else, either a scam or just plain ole b.s.

Yea,  that is interesting. I wondered how it can disconnected when I call them, but not hen they called me. Wish we could "disconnect" them. LMAO !!!

Someone is spoofing their caller ID.  If this is a collection agency, they may be breaking the law.  I may actually answer next time to see who is doing what.

This number called me today. Asked my name I replied "Who?" cause he pronounced it wrong. Then they hung up.

Guy wouldn't answer until after the 4th "hello". Said he's calling about our business listing. Sounded like he was fishing for info. Indian accent. Told him he has the wrong number as I'm not a commercial place, he had the tenacity to ask me who told me I have no business listing in the yellow pages! I told him to stop calling and that I have caller id before hanging up on him.
