I just figured out where my boyfriend is .Cancun! He was suppose to be in Austin Texas business.Oops!! He called from his cell. The number 998-106-9899 came up.

Got a call from the number above last night at 9:06PM EST. I didn't answer it and they left no message. Funny thing is seconds before my phone rang someone with the same area code different number called my hubbys phone. Hmmmm sounds like a scam to me.....

My Parents are vacationing in Rivera Maya, Mexico.  They called me from the Hotel  this number came up.

My brother has verizon wireless, had his cell switched over went he went to cancun. When he called me from there from his cell phone this number came. Apparently when anyone calls from there this is the number that shows up.

I found this number talking to my girlfriend late at night for long minutes.  I wish the number still worked.  I want to know who it is!

My wife is in Riviera Maya and I called her from the UK from skype. A Mexican woman anwered asking if I was Steve....I asked for my wife and after 3 minutes she told me I had called the wrong number. I thought my girlfriend had had her phone stolen/lost/found.
I looked at my cell phone (not the skype) to see I had a missed call from the number in question which I looked up and found it on here. This seems too much of a coincidence to be not connected. The next time I called her from skype she answered and said I had hung up as she answered the previous time.
I don't know how this call was hijacked or where who ever did it got my cell phone number from but weird.

I got a call from this number. Didn't answer it because I didn't recognize it. Turns out it was my aunt and uncle calling from Cancun (they left a message).

Missed 6 calls from that number at 3am, but after reading the messages, it was probably my BF calling me after a "fun" night in Mexico. He is near cancun, so that explains the cancun references.

Talked to my buddy in Casamel from this number, its like a hub for an international calling cards.  He was on his cell phone but this number still showed up.

Got a call from this number just now (12:45pm EDT).  It was an apparently drunk girl who had dialed the wrong number.  She asked for someone else, I said "sorry, you have the wrong number" and she laughed and apologized and hung up.  Did not feel like a scam.  Probably a drunk spring breaker trying to call her boyfriend.

This is not any kind of scam. When someone, anyone uses their cellphone from Cancun, Mexico instead of their number coming up on your caller ID you get this number. I just got a call from a friend at the airport in Cancun. He called from his cell but this number appeared. Must be some sort of routing thing.

Received a call from 9981069899 on 6/1/2011 at 1:33pm. I answered the call and no one on the other end spoke. I ended up hanging up after 30 seconds.

got a phone call from this number on 06-30-2011 at 11:16 a.m. cdt.   no one would say anything.   lots of background noise, none of it understandable.

it might happen since texas and mexico are close. no worries

I have been getting calls from the number lately... But they had my house number too. Really weirded me out! But my brother is vacationing somewhere in the gulf. Hopefully it is him calling. Odd part is that he hasn't left me any voicemails.

Got a call from this number at 2:30 am. My one month old niece is in the hospital with pulmonary edema, so it scared the crap outta me. But it was just some drunk girl calling... urgh!
