How do they get your number in the first place? Obviously no one filled out a ballot. Is it through spy ware on our computers?

I just got called by this number four times in a row. Didn't answer because didn't know what the hell a 999 area code was.

Called me and told me I had won 4 prizes, wouldn't answer any questions because he had to follow some kind of structure. He told me I spent over $50 at a mall in Mississauga, ON. When I asked him when I made the purchase he gave me a day in April (I was not living anywhere near Toronto in April). Scam. Called back a couple times since then.

this number just called me, and when i answered he asked to speak with my "mommy". i'm 24, married, and 5 months pregnant. i told him that i was the homeowner, and he hung up on me.

Got a call from them a week ago, made an appointment just to get them off the phone , its was fun , i recived a free gift and few discount offers aswell.

Is this company still active? I called the numbers from the previous entries and none of the numbers are in Service? 2020 Cliff Road...... is an apartment building if I am not mistaken....familiar too....

Wed January 14th, 2009 at 2:25pm from # 999-299-7676.  First spoke with "Jeff Corner", asking me if he has reached 416 *** ***.  I of course reply, "yes", and hate when telemarketiters ask that stupid question....He quickly spews off this "wonderful prize" opportunity (same 4 prizes everyone has been saying, 42" Plazma tv, $15000 cash, a 4 day trip somewhere, and one other I can't remember) and I'm trying really hard to hear what he's saying.  I ask him what ballot he's talking about that I filled, instantly thinking this is not real b/c he hasn't given me my name or address, which would be written on a ballot, or perhaps an email address.  He gives me the same address as everyone else on this thread was given:

And that myself and my partner can come pick it up tonight, tomorrow, saturday, sunday and lists off times.
I'm clearly skeptical, but go along with it, knowing that I will be googling this [***].
I book in my "appointment".  He tells me i don't need to buy anything, ect.  I ask how am I supposed to get there, he tells me his senior manager will give me directions and transfers me over, only ONCE I had booked my fake [***] appt.
Now, I meet "Sherrif" (like the police he tells me).  Both men are of Indian decent, and I can hear loads of talking in the backround and phones, obviously a call centre.
So, "Sherrif" tells me that I need to qualify by these standards:
1. Must be older than 27yrs old
2. Must make over $50,000 a year
3. Must bring my "partner" (if you're no aware, people living overseas refer to a boyfriend as a partner).
4. Must have 2 ID's, one with a picture, one w/out.

I told him that I do NOT make over that $ amt, and that I do not have a partner.  so, he pretends to do something and comes back and says, "ok, ok, just TELL them when you get here, that you make over $50,000, b/c I want you to get that prize, ok? ok?"  And he says, "oh, and you're single, so that's ok, just make sure you tell them you're single then."  WHAT?!
He aske me my name, I give it, he says "OH! that's my wife's name! see? that's why i'm helping you.  she eats a lot, you must eat a lot too, with the same name, ha ha ha.  Now i know you are to win the prize and when you do, i want many thanx, so call me after".  OH MY GOD.  
From the start of this stupid [***] conversation, I asked this Sherrif guy, "how many people have been selected for this?" and he goes on and on to say it's random on the computer, and that it works for his company for marketing. "Marketing?"  I ask, "What company is this and does my pulling a prize out of a box help YOU? I thought I didn't have to sign anything, buy anything." (i was already told who it was after I asked the first guy).  Good old Sherrif had the same answer. "Premium Club, we work for Toshiba, GM. You'll just have to come in, give them your gift claim #, it may take 10 min's, or an hour in a half." (????)  He says, "If you win the TV and b/c you're single, just give them your address to have them deliver it for free, in 2 business days". ....right...i'll get right on that.
Oh my god, that was 15 minutes on the phone I'll never get back.
BUT, after googling this [***], and already knowing that this was "too good to be true", I called and cancelled my appointment, saying that I physically couldn't get there by subway. i spoke to the first Indian guy who picked up. He asked me who I wanted to speak to, and I said, "can't i just talk to you and cancel it?"  of course he says. and then he says, "so, shall we call you on Monday to reschedule?" I say, "NO! I just cancelled it, b/c I cannot get to there to claim my prize", and then he was actually fine with it.
i'm expecting another call, thankfully i know now, NOT to answer it.

I have to admit, I was contacted by this Premium Club and I decided to go. It was the same location on Drew Road, except their phone number is now a 905 number. I asked a dozen questions like "would it cost me anything" etc. etc. Here's what happened:

I showed up and there was on office with young and old guys of a variety of nationalities (white, black, hispanic, etc) in suits working. I filled out a harmless form and was taken into a sort of presentation room where a girl spent an hour pitching me this "membership" program where they offer up to 80% discounts on travel, airfare, car rental, and a variety of day-to-day businesses like Burger King, Tony Romas, etc.

The pitch was really crappy, and I was bored out of my mind but I nodded and smiled wondering if I would get this free gift. When I declined, they brought over 3 different sales guys who all looked at me funny as if they couldn't believe I was declining. But frankly, who has $8000 to blow on a membership which really does stink of scam.

So, when they FINALLY got the hint, they all basically turned their backs on me and became fairly rude. However they asked me to fill out a customer satisfaction survey which basically asked me if the pitch I heard sucked or if I just didn't have the money. Then they took me back to the front desk, I stuck my hand into a bin and pulled out a ticket, and lo and behold, I actually won a $1000 gas card for Petro Canada.

Seriously. The pitch they give you for their crap "club" is pretty hardcore. It's long, it's boring, and when you say no they really turn on you. But if you can hold your own through it, you WILL get one of the 5 prizes they "guarantee" you.

i just got a missed call on my phone from 999-299-7676, i called bak it didnt go thru, so i jus googled it outa curiousity, and i came to this page, and now i feel better because i got freinds living abroad, and i dont have voice mail, good to know its a prank, guys thx for ur sharings.

I got a call from this same idiot on my cell phone on Jan 17, 2009. Same deal, i have won one of 4 prizes, plazma TV...blah, blah, blah. I tried to find out where he got my number. He claims I filled out a ballot(Not likely). He could not tell me where or when this 'ballot' was completed.
He said his name is Jason Parker, when I asked for his manager he put someone on the line who identified himself as Alex Ryder with call back number 905-754-5151. The only way to claim the prize is to take my wife with me to 1510 Drew Rd. Mississauga, Unit 6.

I have no intension of picking up this prize. SURPRISE, lol. But wanted to research them so I indulged him enough to get this info..

Ok , They called me and I was almost happy because my economic situation is not the best. SO i was planning my visit to the 1510 drew road unit 6 in Mississagua. Ok I set up the appoinment and I discovered that he place was pretty far for me and I have to spend almost $20 in transportation( that I do not have). Then I checked on internet and I discovered this  posting and that was a scam . i used to be a telemarketer and I feel so dumb because I let myself believe that was true. Anyways just beaware.  Thank You very Much for your postings.Let me know where or who to call to stop these guys.

Got a call from them, claiming the person I am speaking to is the 'manager'. Asked him numerous times what his name was, but he keeps yapping about the two vacation tickets prize. Some other employee had called before and also claimed he was from GeoHoliday, claiming to be 'Jerry'.

Asked him who he works for, and he claimed to be working for Geoholidays.com, telling me to pick up the prize at

Apparently, the company GeoHoliday was also under the name of Fairfield Resorts, and a new name (which I'm unsure whether they have started using yet) Wyndham Vacation Resort. Depending on who they are calling to, their offices are found in the US and Canada and they go by various names.

Note this, after searching around on the Internet, you can be qualified for this so-called 'prize' IF you are between the age of 25-70 with a least $50,000 in income.

Also, beware that GeoHolidays have tons of other sites associated with them. Even if you do buy whatever they are trying to sell you, I bet it would ruin you financially. Trying to contact their main offices to remove my number doesn't seem possible either.

Found a very important story about GeoHolidays. I hope the one who wrote this won't mind me pasting it for all of you to see. The story about his experience with GeoHoliday (aka Fairfield Resorts) was difficult to find, since it was about three years ago (~2005).

Hi All,

I just wanted to post this as a warning to people out there.... about a
company named Geo Holidays... aka Fairfield Affiliate.

We got a call from someone from Geo Holidays last week. This person
claimed
that we had won one of 4 free vacation packages to various locations in
the
world. He stated that every year his company chooses 4 lucky couples to
which are given free vacations. Instead of advertising on TV, radio,
billboards, etc.. he said they believed word of mouth advertisement is
what
they want. We would enjoy our vacation so much that we would happily
spread good word of mouth. (We are in Toronto, Canada by the way).

Being skeptical I asked what the catch was. I asked this guy, "what
will
you people try to sell me when I come there? is this in any way a
timeshare?". He assured me that there were no strings attached and that
nobody would try to sell me anything. We just have to go there and draw
for
the prize (but said we had to be there for approx. 90 mins).

If I hadn't of entered a draw for a vacation at a store earlier this year
I
probably wouldn't have gone at all.... but I didn't want to miss out if I
was mistaken. I also couldn't turn up anything bad for Geo Holidays when
searching on the internet....

Anyways, we drive to the place Saturday morning (our prearranged meeting
time)... and the sign outside on the building says "Fairfield Affiliate".
Interesting... the name Geo Holidays is seen nowhere (apparently they are
just a partner). Inside we were led to a room where we wait a while and
then every couple gets a salesperson sitting beside them to start talking
us
into buying this vacation crap. "All we ask is that you keep an open
mind.
When you get over the anger you have by how we got you all here, you will
be
happy. At the end you just need to say yes or no." Yeah, right. This
strange black guy from Tennessee comes in and start making a big
presentation trying to be funny and all. The audience felt so fixed with
the agents everywhere... they laughed on cue... clapped on cue... like
puppets. The poor people in the front row should have been wearing
raincoats since that speaker guy kept spitting when he talked. The whole
thing felts like something out of the Twilight Zone... it felt like one of
those cults where you are waiting to take your special pill so the
spaceship
will come and take us all away. Creepy...

The speaker goes on talking about points and a system called FairShare
(but
explaining that it is not timeshare). He goes on mentioning it will cost
us $1066 to go anywhere in the world each year... blah blah blah....

He finishes... and it is time for our little salesman to continue to try
to
talk us into it. He reminds us that we are guaranteed our free vacation
no
matter what happens. Out of curiousity I ask how much this actually
costs.
So... we go to a room with about 40 tables with paper and calculators on
them.

He slowly (and I emphasis slowly) explains everything to us. The total
cost for the package came out to about $40,000 something. The membership
is for 45 years. I'm thinking... these guys must be nuts!! And that is
just for the package itself... let alone the annual maintenance fees of
around $500. He does some calculations and says I will only have to pay
$900 per month to get this package. Yeah, right!! ha!! I told the guy
bluntly that there was no was in hell he was going to get a "yes" out of
me.
He told me to wait while he got another representative to tell us about a
package he might not of heard about.

So... some lady who smelt like armpits came over and sat down with us.
She
offered us another package that was for about $15,600 with much less
included (of course). But she said today they had a special on it and
that
it was only $13,600. It came out to about $290 per month or something
plus
the extra $400 maintenance fees (they write a US$ figure to make it seem
smaller). I told her even if it was $20 per month we wouldn't say "yes".
After talking for another half hour she said she wanted to talk to her
boss
to see if there was anything else she could do. She comes back and says
there was a promotion on that she wasnt aware of and the price would
actually be $11,000. We still said "no". She made it seem that us
saying
"no" just boggled her mind.... like she couldn't comprehend how someone
could say "no"! She told us that she was in this program herself and
that
we would be fools not to join.

(Inbetween these discussions we are interrupted 3 times by people
announcing
who has just bought the package. "Quiet everyone. May we have your
attention. Mr. and Mrs. Smith all the way from Toronto have just signed
up
with us." <<Clapping>>. Again sounding so fixed and creepy. And when
we
are talking about the packages when this happens the armpit lady tells us
to
be quiet and listen.)

Still not understanding the answer no, my wife writes the letters "NO" on
a
piece of paper a dozen or so times, shows it to them, and tells them that
we
are leaving. They finally understand. They lead us to the prize office
and we draw our 3 days accommodation-only prize for Orlando, Florida.. and
we leave. At least we got something... but I won't fall for that again!!
These companies lure us in with deceit and lies... I don't understand how
anyone would hand over any money to people.

They wanted word of mouth from me.... and now I have fulfilled my duty.

they told me that they found me demograficly, dont know what that means.
I canceled the appointment thanks to this side, thanks to you people

haha just got a call from this guy. Told me all the same [***] I've read in the above posts. Hung up after laughin at him a bit. He called me back three times without me answering. Meanwhile I found this site and on the fourth call back, I answered read some of the posts to him. After that he all of a sudden wanted to go. I thought it was pretty funny that now all of a sudden he wanted to go, and I called him out on it! Scam all the way, but you can have fun with this guy. Hilarious. I told him not to lie about his name because we all know some Indian guy isn't named "Alex Martin", and we also know he doesn't live in Mississauga if he doesn't know where Square One is. I told him that calling back 4 times after someone has hung up on you is harrassment - and you'll never get someone to buy into this scam by harassing them. :)

I received a phone  at home from a man named Sunil with a south asian accent from this number. I assumed it was a long distance call and he had got the wrong number. He called me back a few times. I finally picked up and listened carefully. He was actually trying to communicate to me in Hindi. I asked him what he wanted and why he called. He kept asking me for my name. He finally said that he was calling because he was bored. I was appalled. I hung up. He called again. I picked up and responded in English "I work for Rogers Communications head office and I advise you that I can see your 1900 number. I am contacting the police with it." He replied "[***]" and hung up.

Hasn't called me back. I looked at my caller ID and noticed this number several times.

I received the same call today from an operator (from this number). Thanks for the tips and the notes regarding this scam. I did not go so far as to setup an appointment, but I was uncomfortable with the questions being asked which concerned me...Found this site and I feel a little better about what to do if they call back. Thanks Everyone.

Just recieved the call but the call back number was 905 963-7365 ext 008 which is this guy chris. all the same details but when i told him i have to bring my young daughter he refused to let me come their ceremony. hope this info helps. THIS IS DEFINITALY A MAJOR SCAM!!!!!!!!
