We are getting 000-000-0000 calls on our cell.
Apparently we won a (free?)trip! LOL!!!!!
How stupid do people think we are?
Next time we are going to ask the company name and call the police.
we are on the "DO NOT CALL" list.
funny because we didn't get any of these calls before we signed up

This number has called me two days in a row.  I got calls from this number last year, I knew I must have googled it then but forgot.  It doesn't even ring long enough for the answer machine to pick up.  I have two pages of bogus numbers listed for calls I've received over the past 2 years.  I can go back and reference instead of googling.  This is so ridiculous, I am ready to try to change my phone number.  I never answer phone numbers I do not recognize. I too am on the Do Not Call List.  But for everything good done in this world there are those that find a way to get around it.

i have recieved calls from this number before and never answered them. but i finally did today and it was a telemarketer trying to get me to fill out a survey and at the end i would win a cruise.i just want to know if we get charged for these phone calls. the number that called me was 1-000-000-0000.

I was constantly getting this call for last two weeks, each and every day

it displays 0000000000 and the pre recorded voice message goes saying" this is regarding an important business dealing, it is very important for you to call us XXX-XXX-XXXX."

I hang up everytime
and they keep calling me  again. juat waste of my time

I have been called by these numbers too. By FEDERAL LAW all telemarketers etc are required to stop calling if you say "remove from list" you have to say those three words precisely or else they don't have to do it. I hope it helps

I've been getting a call from this number everyday since the New Year rang in. I answered it once and the guy on the phone asked me for my account number and checking number to pay my bill, usually a company number calls me but this seems strange. I refused and hung up on the guy, now he keeps calling 2-3x a day. What's funny is this guy knows my account number to one of my accounts and my home address. I still wouldn't trust the number and pay my bill directly with the company. I smell identity theft or fraud, and this person's just trying to get my money. Is there a way I can stop this guy from calling me besides changing my number?

I keep getting phone calls from 000-000-0000 trying to tell me that i need to contact them about a credit card account

I got a call from this number before and im in Canada and it was a prerecording and it played a horn from like a cruise and it said this is your captain calling press 1 to receive your free cruise. it called my cell and my dads cell and my home phone. i was like wtf and i was gunna tell him to F - off but it was a machine. Now whatever you guys do....NEVER PRESS ONE BECAUSE IT IS A SCAM AND IF YOU PRESS ONE THEY SOMETIMES WILL HACK YOUR NUMBER AND THEN CALL LONG DISTANCE ON UR PLAN FOR FREE TO THEM BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. WELL AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT I HAERD. THATS WHY I DONT EVER PRESS ONE. EVEN IF I DIDNT KNOW THAT THEY DO THAT I STILL WOULDNT PRESS IT CUZ IT IS NOTHING BUT A SCAM!!

Whenn i was on computer i heard the phone rang i answered it they said my mom was calling me but when I went up she said i wasn't calling you then i said what the hell then i put it on they wereee still talking then i went down they were still on the phone then i went back UpStairss they werent on they hanged up then i was totally scared when i went to bedd i had a bad dream it was about that phone number and in my dream my teacher said that was DEVIL phoning so you can never answer that call so thanks for listening peoples out theree..!

When I answered this telephone number is was a cruise ship horn and I aparently won a cruise or something like that.

They keep calling...once a day!!!

I received a call from the infamous 000-000-0000 number today and it turned out to be my doctor...   so I've made the assumption it's just another way to prevent people from screening your phone calls.  Kind of strange that a doctors office would find it necessary.  I didn't owe any money...   it was just a call to confirm an appt.

Actually I was told by the City Police that if some one calls you and you press a certain combination of numbers like: 9/1/4/2, they can access to your phone line and account. Dont press any buttons!

The calls I had gotten from this number have been from a private detective using this number to see if I was home.  Check out to see if there is a reason why someone is trying to determine when you are home???? Could be an investigator or a burglar????

"000-000-0000 is a Fictitious number, however, if you manage to hear a pre-recorded message saying "this is your Captain speaking, you have won a free trip", or "we want to lower the interest rate on your credit card" or " the warranty on your vehicle is expiring", these calls are all coming in from the United States. There are several offers of this nature being made at this time and we are unable to distinguish which calls are legitimate.

Some of these calls may be a type of telemarketing scam, usually targeting large businesses with multiline systems where access to an outside line can be made by pressing "9" or "0", and allowing the culprit to make and charge long distance calls to the business.  

This method is used on residential lines when pressing "9" or "0" connects you to a representative where they will try to obtain your credit card number and personal information.

Unfortunately, at this time, there is no way to prevent these calls as the number they often display is not in working service and is not registered with any telecommunications company across North America.  

If you feel you are victim of a scam and have provided the caller with any personal identification and information, please contact the local police for assistance."

Hey, you want to get back at telemarketing companies.

When they call.... (if you recognize the call display number as one of them).
1.   Don't say anything at all (Don't even say hello).
2.   Don't hang up (very important).
- Even if you say hello by accident continue with the next steps.
3.   Press mute (so they can't receive anything from you).
4.   If you have speaker phone put it on speaker (so you can listen if you want).
5.   If you don't want to listen or don't have mute (put them on hold, if you can).

Just keep them on the line without saying anything and without hanging up.  It'll appear as your line is an active but dead line.

The best thing is that you'll waste their time and money.  While you have them on hold, they can't make anymore calls with the line their using to call you.  And, if they're making a long distance call (typical as they are often call sells set-up overseas) their running up a bill.  Imagine, they're paying the bill for a wasted call.  The longer you tie them up the more it'll cost them and the less calls they can make to others.

Note: a lot of telemarketing companies train their staff to not hang up on customers as the longer they can keep someone on the line the more likely they'll make a sale.  They actually have the system automatically monitoring the call and if the telemarketer hangs up their manager makes note and will check out why.  Only the customer is allowed to hangup.  Don't worry, after a minute or two the telemarketer has to sit their and wait for their system to recognize the call as dead and it'll eventually disconnect.  In some cases the system will automatically list your number as a dead line and take you off their list.

It can be fun.  Once I sat their and listened to a telemarketer breath and sigh waiting.  I heard him talking to others waiting for the line to disconnect.   YEP, call me and you'll pay for the call.  I get free entertainment.

One caller must of said Hello? about 25 times before they stopped.  I cracked up laughing.  Good thing I had mute on.

I CALLED THAT NUMBER IT WAS WESTERN WATS....... WWW.WESTERNWATS.COM. IF YOU GO TO THE SITE ITS AN INFORMATION DATABASE COLLECT COMPANY.   I BELIEVE THE 1~000~000~0000 IS A STEALTH NUMBER GENERATED BY THERE SOFTWARE QUANCEPTS/QTS.......CATI SYSTEM & IVR SYSTEM.   I NEVER SEEN THESE NUMBERS BEFORE TODAY SO IT MAKE SENSE THAT BOTH NUMBER AND THE INFORMATION GIVEN ON THE WESTERN WATS WEBSITE THAT THERE RESONSIBLE FOR THE PHATOM NON TRACIBLE NUMBER......THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE.
