00000000000 now tells us that we have a problem with our computer Windows virtual environment. The nice indian man can solve it for us.   No chance,  Sound like pure a Phishing scam. Beware!

They keep calling and we miss there call's , I dont know where these companys get my telehone number from as we are ex directory and we do have callers display . I think BT should be made accountable for these calls and change our telephone numbers .

why want my account let me c this 00000000000 number......

get since a few days called by 000000000000 how to stop this

My elderly parents got me to ring ontel today to question who sends calls - they get them 3 times /day at min.
They only suggested recording when and how many and to get back to them with a history - but having read the previous correspondance on this - best not to respond at all . Parents intend to change LAND LINE to see if this stops it !

I'm on the TPF and yet I get calls from nearly every type of sales/won holiday...yada yady...

Anyway got one from the 00000000000 number. I wonder how much that telephone cost the company?

so here is what i've done. Changed my old polite telephone outgoing message to the following........

You have reached this message automatically because of one of the following reasons.

You are either calling from outside the United Kingdom, or you are calling from a network with ID display as ‘unobtainable; or you have deliberately with-held your caller Identification. All calls such as these with be directed to this message. And not answered!

If everybody did this, telesales would be dead within a week?

My call was from IPC about a survey (or so they said!). Logged on to comment about earlier postings about computer problems. This is a scam - what they get you to do if you switch on your computer is bring up a screen which looks like problems but is NORMAL. If you fall for it they pass you on to someone else who then sells you useless online software. This of course generates a fee for the consultant and commission for the original caller and may also get hold of your credit card and/or bank details. Avoid at all costs - do not believe them!
Recently had a call from one of these scammers and talked them through their own set of procedures, much to their astonishment, but a reluctant admittance I was right before they put the phone down.

We have just started gettting these calls,leaves you feeling a abit freaked out! BT says its a blip on 1471..yeah, best thing is just don,t answer

Started getting this call, haven't answered it yet but considering getting an air horn to blast down the line, might make them think twice eh?

MY ANSWERING MACHINE MESSAGE IS:-

'PLEASE NOTE THAT TO AVOID SALESMEN AND THE LIKE ALL CALLS WILL ONLY BE ANSWERED IF THE CALLER STATES WHO IS CALLING AFTER THE TONE. IF THERE IS NO-ONE AVAILABLE TO ANSWER YOUR CALL AND YOU WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE PLEASE DO SO AFTER THE TONE.'

THIS WORKS INSOFAR THAT 90% OF SUCH CALLERS PUT THEIR PHONE DOWN HALF WAY THROUGH THE MESSAGE KNOWING THAT THEY WOULD NOT GET AN ANSWER. 10% HANG ON TO THE END OF THE MESSAGE, WAIT A FEW SECONDS TO SEE IF THEY GET AN ANSWER AND THEN PUT THE PHONE DOWN.

IT MUST HAVE BEEN A COUPLE OF YEARS SINCE A CALLER SAID SOMETHING, WAITED, AND THEN NOT GETTING A REPLY, GAVE UP AND REPLACED THEIR PHONE.

TO HELP GENUINE CALLERS WAITING TOO LONG MY ANSWERING MACHINE MESSAGE STARTS AFTER ONLY 2 RINGS. SOME SALESMAN etc WILL NORMALLY TRY TO AVOID PAYING FOR WASTED CALLS IF NO-ONE ANSWERS AFTER ABOUT 6 RINGS. BY STARTING THE MESSAGE AFTER 2 RINGS THEY GET CHARGED FOR THE CALLS WHICH HELPS TO DETER THEM FROM CALLING REPEATEDLY.

I tried to call it back but it immediately told me there was no such number.

Got my first one today, looks like I'm in for it now after reading all the other postings. I was up the garden when it rang and didn't have time to answer before it rang of so no idea who or what it may have been.

I got a call from the eleven zeros number yesterday & it was the computer scam call from an Indian/Asian sounding gentleman claiming to be from Microsoft calling about error messages my computer had been sending to them. He asked me to log on to my computer so that they could help me solve the problem. I told him I had no problems & if I did I would contact the relevant people, do Microsoft phone all their millions of customers who have errors out of the blue, I think not! :) Beware this is obviously a scam as previous posters on here have pointed out.

this  number calls about 5 times every week and does NOT answer if you pick up the phone no one answers.I would dearly love to close my hands round their neck until they agree to stop calling descent people with their nuisance calls!

Try whispering for a 2...3...seconds then blow a loud horn down the line........works for me every time, bont get mad get even! and have a bit of fun!!!

i get a call on my cell phone frm 00000 and the guy just says hello and hangs up

i got called from this number 000-000-0000 at 1:41 am and i answer it and all i heard was werid noise in the background like a hovering sound or to be in detail a spaceship and i'm not jokeing this really happened. and then all at the same time i heard some weird voice's. voice's but they were not hunman voice's. and not from this planet and when i heard this voice it was doing a loud very loud roarr or rawrr at me and then i heard some click's like it was talking to the other liveing organism and then that thing made a other type of sound. it sounded like and low and high pitch roarr and click's all at the same time. and all after that i heard silence and then the vocie's wod come back. but this time it sounded like banging and high high sound that hurt my ear and that's when i hanged up the phone. this happened at july, 5 ,monday 2010 at 1:41 am and all of this happened in 2 mins. i'm not saying that these were ufo or alien's. but the only thing i can tell you that it scared the liveing f*ck out of me!  and right now if you readed all of this you don't believe me. but right now i don't even believe myself.
