My caller claimed to be based in NE London and said that I had reported errors with my Windows Operating system.  He would not say how he had been notified. He wanted me to open up my computer so that I could see the errors.    He was unable to answer other questions to establish his bon fides and in the end I cut him off.

Kept getting this number '00000000000' a few time's a week, started just before xmas, then I told the person 'a woman' that it was illegal to call after I had said no to her offer before in previous calls, I also pointed out that I had recorded her voice, she soon hung up and I haven't had a single call from them since.  Try it..

When I got home from work this evening, I discovered there were three messages on my answer machine, but no message left, when I did 1471 to find out the last number it was the one above, I have not called it, and just read the messages regarding this number, I will call my phone provider and get the number blocked so I won't receive any more calls.

    Regards

Had a call every afternoon this week from - 00000000000 (I forget how many zeros)

Today 21 January I was actually at the phone when it rang.  I could not make out a word the female voice at the other end was saying other than she knew my name.  I asked her to repeat whatever garbage she was talking about, which she did, and I still could not understand her accent.  I hung up.
Incidentally I am on TPS, but I am also on Talk Talk.  Can anyone tell me if Talk Talk over-rides TPS and if so does that mean TPS is meaningless in my case.B639

Had this call on numerous occasions.  It is an Indian Call Centre/Scammer.  They call re fixing my computer but when I told them I didn't have a computer, they started calling asking me to complete a survey which only takes 20 minutes.  I just say 'no thank you' and put the phone down.  We are on TPS but unfortunately this does not include overseas companies and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it until a way of tracing these companies is found, and a law passed to make it illegal.  My advice, just put the phone down.  I know it is frustrating but there is nothing else you can do, sorry.

I've been called by this number many times.... they came to be collecting a debt from some company that's gonna file a lawsuit against me for it.  It's always a guy with an Indian accent and an American name ie "Danny" lol.  I tried to ask what company was requiring this money and he would beat around the bush and would get very mad at me threatening me saying if I don't pay I will go to jail lol.... well they didn't get me with this scam but it is scary that they do get some people.  Be careful out there guys and remember is anyone tells u that you have to pay a debt to them u always have the right to throw a lawyer at them... as a matter of fact, the second I mentioned lawyer the guy Hung up lol..
    • Caller: i think it was "ACS", stong accent lol

More then likely 99% sure its a scam... a real firm would have a real number.  I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I have just received a silent call from this number and am surprised to see so many reviews going back to 2008! Hopefully it was a one-off as I just hung up on them (though when I picked up again, 'they' were still there - still silent - so hung up again!) but going by all these posts assume I have more joyous silent calls to experience *groan*

The caller said he was calling on behalf of the U.K. government and that I was eligible for a local government insulation grant and would I give him personal details to confirm that I was me.
This was at 11 am on Saturday 19th Feb.
When asked to give info to confirm that he was who he said he was he was unable or unwilling to do so he would not stop talking until very firmly spoken to.
The call was probably a call centre and from the heavy accent possibly the Indian sub continent

This number called today asking if we would take part in a survey.  Not interested, told them so and they hung up.  Some bloke introduced himself as Shaggy.  No apologies for disturbing my day.

If u have caller display , then don't answer the call as you will be paying for it . They are an international telesales group contracted by timeshare , insurance etc at cheap rates as you are paying .
Don't be tempted to curiously ring the number as its even more expensive at your expense .
If they are regulated they would leave a message or let their number be quoted as "with - held" .

Just had 3 calls in a the space of two minutes ffrom this number. They have been ringing on and off 4-5 times a day for the last 2 weeks. Have marked in my phone book as "DONT ANSWER". Dont know who it is but on the last call heard a male voice say "Hello". Just put the phone on the side and raised my voice so it could be heard "You know what people ringing me up who want to hide their identities aren't worth talking to are they?" Have not had a call since. LMAO.
