Completely fed up!! This number rings up several times a week, no one talks then the phone is put down. Might invest in a high pitched whistle to blow down the phone!!!

Had a call from 000000000000 said it was ofcom and prattled on about line service so just told him to get lost. Hung up. Had similar calls whenever i bought a new computor about windows and it was the same Asian guy. They get your details saying things like we need you bank details to pay money to you that you have been over charged then they rob you blind.

A woman with an American accent said to me: " You are the only individual in this conference." Then she hung up.

Yes, they tried to call three times today.
Fortunately, I have a BT8500 which blocks them dead. Apparently, these calls are permitted in the UK because it was deemed by the authorities that they do not cause significant distress.
I'll tell you what, I'll show you distress if I ever get one of these people.
Where is the call type below listed as 'scammer'? All of the options available are legitimate.

Oh! I know....I bet the Police come after me now for a threat against these people. The British Police can't get real criminals so they have to achieve their quotats by picking on victims. The whole system is corrupt!

Female Indian accent caller asked "Can I speak to the Sky account holder"  Don't have, nor has this house ever had Sky! Obvious con company.  Have placed loud whistle by the phone in case she calls again.

I never got a call from that number before

Had a call from this number earlier, A female saying they were from Imperial Telecom representing BT telecom and could give me a discount. Said 'Oh Japanese I suppose you want my bank details' no was the reply but discounts available. Said I am on TPS and they hung up.
Getting totally p****d off with these calls and BT's obvious lack of effort to stop them apart from trying to increase sales of
number blockers and the like. If it wasn't for the need of the internet I would tell BT where to go.
Nobody will do anything because half the MP's in this country get rake offs from crap like this.

Silent call from this number @ 15.15 today. Irritating.

My no. was called by 000000000000 [this call did not get through to me - IT WAS BLOCKED] if you call costomer services @ BT they have an answer,, an apparatus that doesnot let these call get through, your phone will not even ring, you could even get such an item on the net, !!!!!!!!!! go on stop these daft calls !!!!!! thing of it , if every person that had a piece of equipment that stops these getting through , then these "persons" will be out of work and the scams will be eradicated - so guys get moving - go for it - good luck to you all, - and very bad luck to the scammers

They call me at least once every day. Sometimes it only rings once or twice. I answered once, silence. I don't bother anymore.

My mum got a call from this number a couple of days ago. A;llshe got when she answered it was a female recorded voice saying she was called & telling her to hang up.

Trading Standards are warning people of a scam which is costing unsuspecting people hundreds of pounds and in 3 cases thousands of pounds.

It involves a caller (scammer) making a reverse charges call to a number (often at random) which logs as 00000000 on the recipients call log ---- if the recipient answers the call,--- or the next time any call is answered on that phone, --- without the 00000 number being deleted, ---  the recipient starts logging up a huge bill.It only stops when the 00000 number is deleted from the call log.
Telephone users only realise this when they get their next bill. Meanwhile the Swiss based scammer has had their money for the call.
Because the scam originates outside UK juridiction , the recipient is hung out to dry.all and the phone company pursue the recipient, as all companies now offer a debar facility for unknown numbers , such as this.
Debt collection agencies are employed to chase up non-paying recipients, often ending in a county court judgement being issued and recorded against the recipient.
