I've just got a silent call from this number!

called my home phone left no message

Had a call from 000000000000 today, they were trying to sell me windows, when I told them I wanted my number to be removed, it was silence on the other end of the phone. I then told him we were registered with the TPS and he was breaking the law ringing my number, the response was unbelievable - "and......yeah I know", he then hung up, just waiting for the next call, will definitely be trying to get as much info out of them as I can - these calls are so annoying!

Missed call from 000000000000, actually didn't make the phone in time! No ideas who it is!

Called yesterday and today picked up and indian speaking person just told them to GO AWAY

this purports to be a consumer survey. i don't know what it is, but i did one and since then I have received over 100 calls. I now just shout at them

Got 3 calls in half an hour, line just goes dead, BT1471 reports 000 000 000 000. Guess it's a telemarketing machine recording people's in/out times for scam or nuisance marketing calls.

this number has called me four times today.  I answered twice when I was told my computer was sending error messages and was infected with a virus. All I had to do was type in what they told me. As if I'm daft enough to fall for that one.  The other two calls were silent

I have had several calls from this strange number in the past few weeks    No meassage is ever left    Last call was tonight at 6.45pm

These people continue to call me and when I answer they just say hello , hello and hang up - they must be stopped.

Have had a lot of calls from this number never any message left and on the few occasions I have been around to answer they have just hung up    Fed up with then   I asked BT if they had any idea who or what it was and they said they had no idea

This number has repeatedly called my workplace asking for "Miss Barber". They hang up as soon as I tell them nobody of that name works here or when I ask where they're calling from. No idea what this is.

Just had a call 7:30 am say my computer has a windows virus and to turn it on and they will tell me what to put

Dear TPS. I receive several unwanted phone calls a day, from people who have my full name and address as well as my phone number, but I am on TPS. I know you are going to say TPS is not a blocking service but I'd like to know in that case what is it for if not. As far as I can see registering with you to stop any of these pests continually calling me about personal matters I do not wish to discuss with complete strangers, who are probably up to no good is a waste of time. In my opinion your organisation gives the public about as much protection as a chocolate fire guard and there will soon be a political movement asking the government to shut you down as you obviously have no purpose in life, you don't actually do anything, and I don't know how you have the nerve to take your probably high salaries while we the aggrieved customers are livid about these day and night intrusions you purport to be interested in. I wish you would get off your backsides and do something about this.

You may be surprised to know that this is NOT TPS, it is Whocallsme, a forum.  TPS is a voluntary code signed up to by reputable UK marketing companies.  These companies do not 'phone TPS registered numbers.  However, rogue UK companies do 'phone and you can report them to TPS.  TPS does not, and cannot, stop calls from International, No Caller ID or Withheld numbers, nor will it stop Market Research calls.   It does not deal with automated calls either.  If you want to stop any of these types of calls then buy a Call Blocking Unit or a Call Blocking 'phone.

Pete, if sufficient TPS registered people log complaints to ICO about a UK company who makes nuisance calls then appropriate action is taken. For calls such as this you need a call blocker and caller ID.
