hahah funny how people keep getting calls from a GEORGE WILLIAMS and you are using the surname WILLIAMS! work for these scammers do you???

this number called my lanline number and a message from fredricksons was left asking me to phone them

Just got a call from these poopy pants idiots Telling me they were a company from window's internet and as I was online my computer was downloading Virus's and junk, I laughed and asked how from this did they get my NEW mobile number as Ive never entered my phone number online, then when I told him it was the worst scam ever, he put down the phone..Terrible English and called himelf Steven..!!

Just get caller display phones and input all the nuisance numbers as SPAM and with a number. I'm up to 46 now. I only store these on one handset as mine only hold 100 calls, and there'd be no room left for my personal numbers.

It doesn't stop them ringing, but it means you don't waste your time answering them. If you allocate a special ring tone to all SPAM nos. then you know not to pay any attention to it.

If it rings when I'm unable to answer then I just check back afterwards and if a legitimate call I ring it back. If it's another SPAM it gets added to my list and on the handset with SPAM no. in sequence, and the ring tone applied to it.

Yep mate, you are NOT alone! These dogs phone me at least 4 times most days and sometimes more. I usually ignore them but if I do answer, no matter how quickly I pick up the call they just hang up. It has happened today 7 times. These people are clearly payed by someone so i can only guess it is some kind of criminal gang trying to validate sold-on lists of people's phone numbers. Any numbers they can get a valid response from then they will tick it off and pass the number on to some other dodgy outfit who will then pester us with unsolicited telemarketing etc.
My number was given to:
>third party insurer after a motor vehicle accident
>the Police
>the recovery company used by my employer's insurance company

One of them obviosly sold the number on to the dogs who have now persistently annoyed me for the last year or so.

Satisfy yourself with the knowledge that these people are lowlife criminal dogs who prey on hard working people like ourselves who have little enough free time as it is without trash phone pestering us.

E-B thanks for this info. I notice that a lot of the people getting hassled by this number are on Orange so I am starting to suspect that Orange sold our number on to criminal lowlife types.

I did know that I could get Orange to block it if I report it to the Police. I will do that now and thank you for sharing this valuable info with us.

Same number rang me today(second day in a row) and claimed to be a different company.... 24seven pc care, I was asked to switch on my pc and allow him to lead me through changes I needed to make to my pc as it was requested by microsoft, I listened to his instructions out of curiousity and to waste his bill, then told him I hadnt even switched on my pc, I wasnt a mug and to Jog on...!! Im on t mobile so it isnt only Orange network..

i too received a call today from these asking me about accident claims / bank loan charges etc.
never gave out there name however and when I asked they hung up.   Dodgy.

yer I have noticed that to it's really annoying I have had 2 calls of this number in the past hour and a total of 7 today it's really starting to piss me of

Exactly same as you except  mine on Virgin ex directory landline.

Led to believe that this number is possibly from skype. Had 3 calls from it over past week on an ex directory virgin landline wanting me to turn my pc on so they could help me fix a virus. Reported it to Virgin who were aware of it and say police aware also.

Been called at least twice a day for over a week. normally ignore but on one occasion answered only to hear what sounded like african accents in a call centre so hung up. have also tried to reply only to be told by t-mobile that number doesn't exist???

This number called me today telling me I could receive compensation for an accident I had over a year ago... the phone number 00123456789 had Salem Ohio written underneath it... very strange! just told him to not call, then he got pushy so I just said don't call then I hung up. I am in England too by the way, so I hope I don't get charged for answering.
