These people have no respect for ordinary folk. Several times we have had this number call us, apart from two occasions they have hung up. When able to speak to them a question such as where are you calling from produced no sensible result, another time a question as to what colour underwear she was wearing caused the call to be terminated quickly. Suggest nasty comments back to them may have some effect although over a long time maybe!

I had these people this morning, same thing line goes dead within a couple of seconds of answering.  If you ever have a marketing call were they do actually speech to you I have found two methods of getting rid of them:

Method One: Do not acknowledge the person at the other end; just shout 'Hello' every five seconds until they hang up.  They very rarely phone back.

Method Two: This works great if you have a radio/music player near the phone.  Answer the call and see who they ask for, tell the caller 'I'll just go and get them' then put the hand set next to the speaker.  If they hang on just pick up the receiver every minute of so and tell them 'Fred is just coming'. Eventually they'll get bored and go.  My record is keeping them interested for 14 minutes.  Again they very rarely call back.

I keep getting these phone calls, about 3-4 times a day but i say hello they hang up

Had 3 calls from this number in the last week - they always hang up without answering.
I would be tempted to blow a whistle down the phone, but I daresay thats illegal......

after six rings ,the number rung off.Did it hope that I would  dial 1471 and then ring that number back ?/
What would trhe cost have been  ?? especially if it was a Survey/poll/ etc.

Called my landline yesterday - a woman who spoke accent with a faint trace of English, claiming to be called Hayley Williams (yeah, right) assumed my name was a bloke's & insisted to speak to HIM.  When asked was she selling something she said it was a survey.  When asked who the survey was for she said it was the NRC.  When informed "Mr" **** wouldn't come to the phone unless she divulged the nature of the survey she hung up.
The whistle idea sounds like it has legs.
Saying, "Ah, are you that man/woman who keeps ringing me to join al-Qa'eda?" might get the covertly-listening CIA all excited enough to investigate them.  Well, they keep annoying me ...

New year, new start again with this number. Picked up phone and an Asian sounding voice said "hello i'm trying to contact Mr" and then it went dead. Previously nobody was there on answering.
Not a clue who or what this is but would like to know as this number doesn't correspond to anything recognizable.

I am wondering,if you have had any dealings with the land asset group,I fear I may have upset the idiot who was plaguing me with sales pitches ,when I asked him to "stop bloody bothering me"it may be his way of giving a little irritation...is the LAG known to you...??

I am thinking that Logically,if we are all having the same problem with this number,we could have something in common as the caller would need  to have to hand our dialing codes and numbers,since to just dial any number randomly without knowledge of our dialing codes would be difficult to say the least...prior to this I have had nuisance calls from a company called Land asset group pestering me with a sales pitch....to say that I gave this company a very curt and rude reply,would be putting it mildly....maybe this is their way of getting a little revenge..??have you had any dealings with LAG...??? I would be interested to know

I've been having these calls for at least the last fortnight, mainly in the mornings and evenings, really frustrating, gonna be blowing my whistle down the phone nxt time for sure!!!

Keep getting calls from this number. Would like this to be stopped. Any help will be appreciated.when I say hello it get disconnected I never call back.

to answer previous questions about the "scam" of hanging up - I'd suggest they use something called a "war dialler" which dials upwards of 10 numbers each time, first person to answer gets talked to - everyone else gets hangups.

I believe this technology is actually illegal in the UK (not 100% on it).

my 81yr old mother-in-law was called today by this number by "carlo" he asked for her by her full name then went on to tell her my Downs Syndrome brother-in-law (whom he also named) had been shot in the face when my M-I-L started to question him he said he was phoning from the hospital & then hung up, we have called the police who are now going to look into it
