I believe this text also left an 888 number for my husband to call. Is there anyway to tell if it is a legit Yahoo message or the scam everyone is seeing

I found James Edwards on match.com said he was in the army and was going to retire in 6 month and looking for love,  48 hours of text telling me he said he love me and wonted to marrie me.  
Then told me he was worried about his son staying with a care taker that was living in
West Africa and if I would send money to them, and he would pay me back because he could not send money from the army in Afganastan...also  ask for my credit card number. And for me to sign off match.com beacause I was t the one. I told him I would help, if he would send me the money first, and I would wire the money to his son, I never heard from him again.

those Phone numbers are Scammers

Received a text also from this number from a person I met on a dating website.  He said he is a widowed and has a 13 year old son who goes to boarding school but lives with him??? Also said he lives in Virginia

Concerned as well .. Had a similar experience ! Did he have a name or email ??

I got texts from this number from a girl I met through a singles dating website, she claims to be a 33 year old living with her grandmother, She ask for money and wanted it sent to her uncle in Accra Ghana. I am posting his name and address here for everyone to see.

People come on. This is not a number that is traceable to any thing other than yahoo. You know Yahoo instant messenger? you can send messages to a cell phone in the form of a text. When that text is sent the number yahoo assigns to it is the number you are searching for. anyone can do it. If you Instant message your cell phone you will get a number similar. So, If your husband/wife is constantly texting a number like this, then he/she is texting someone either without a phone, or someone who he/she doesn't want you to know about on their Instant messaging account. If you get a text asking for any thing from you and you do not know them, It is a scam.

So in short, If your spouse is texting this number, and, it is not asking for money. hire a lawyer

I get a man that sends me msgs from this number claims he is Africa. Kinda scary!

These are calls via yahoo messenger - but if you get one from dgossette33@yahoo.com - it is a nigerian who stole the identity of someone posing as Dennis Gossett

This is a scam do not reply back to them because my wife and I was about to purchase a dog from a online website. We come to find out that these people scam people for your money, luckily we didn't send them any money. I REPEAT DO NOT REPLY BACK!!!

Yeah the guy that was suppose to sell me his pups said that he moved to west africa and goes by the name reverend Carlos Morgan. ITS A SCAM!!

This person seemed to be on a dating website and tried to get money out of me after telling me lots of bullsh*t stuff to get me hooked..He/she was an expert at scamming, but thankfully,I was smart enough to not want to send money, I realized it was a scam for which I am very grateful...don't ever give out your information to someone you do not know, and if they cannot call you to talk then it is a scam!! Unfortunately there are desperate people out there who don't have any conscience.

This number is being used by an internet scammer, it originates from a Yahoo messenger account.  The return ID is <crobles20011@yahoo.com>  
I received txt messages with a verification code for Google, looks like they were trying to open an account and waiting on information through my phone, but according to the messages I got the information was either sent throiugh my phone or there is a clone out there.

just talked to verizon - their blocking system doesn't work on instant messaging numbers just phone # - irritating - don't know what the answer is

Same thing just happened to me.. a scammer.. tells you all sort of [***]!  Gets you hooked.. found him on match.com.... said all the right things...within 4 days...he wanted me to pick him up a the airport when he gets back from Africa... then today, he lost his wallet.. not wants money!  RED FLAGS everywhere!!!!
