claiming their telephone system  has been hacked

We got a phone call at 2am this morning from this number.  When we rang back they said an engineer would be with us shortly but then it went to an answer machine that was full.  We have never dealt with this company either so don't know how they got our number.

As they are aware of it then they had better live up to their name

I'm afraid that your phone system has probably been hacked. How can your CLI telephone number be presented if the calls are reportedly originating from Eastern Europe?

These [***] rang me at 3:30am this morning. No one to talk with when I lifted the reciever.
Didn't recognise the number so didn't call it back. P*issed off or what !!

called at for 4.50 this morning, woke me & my husband up. thought it was a call about my mam who is in ill health, these people whoever they are need stopping

I was called by this bizarre number at 03:58hrs it's now 09:19hrs and yet I am to go back to sleep as it woke my children I've tried calling it back but the line is dead I am raging as I have got a 12hr shift at work soon and I am so tired We Solve IT no you don't you make it worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Telephone Preference scheme is proving to be almost useless with unsolicited sales and 'quick survey' calls continuing all day every day.  But this is adding a whole new dimension of irritation - got a call at 02.07 this morning;   stopped ringing before answered but the damage had been done - awake and wondering if it might be a genuine emergency.  How bad does this have to get before something effective is done?

We suffered a call from this number at 3.56 this morning - Tues 6th March.  A call to this number at 9.30am was answered by a recording claiming that their number had been 'spoofed' by a foreign entity and offering apologies - should I believe it ?  If I did not live so far away from this company I would be paying them a personal visit this morning.

Got a call from this number at 3:29am! Woke me up!

Our phone system hasn't been hacked. None of the calls are in our call log on either the phone system or the voip trunk. We are still trying to find out more, but apparently any number can be presented by any voip phone system as long as the originators trunk allows for this. It's going to be really hard to trace, but we will do our best to stop this.

As you can imagine, we have had a large number of complaints and are also really distressed by some of the messages. Whole families & young children being woken, old people struggling to get to the phone.

It's a dispicable practice and I can't see the purpose. The only thing we can think so far, is that this is a telemarketing company that has made a mistake on the number and their database.

We will post any findings on our website.

@Chunkie  - you're lucky they woke us at 0430 this morning.  There ought to be a law against these compture-diallers

Woke at 02:30 Tuesday morning to home phone ringing, like others thought it was a family emergency, no voice on line. Not funny at all.

yes, you can present pretty much any number you want, regardless of geography or borders.

what i don't understand is if they say this is a marketing agency using the number by mistake, why are they ringing us at that time? the voice is english, so it's aimed at either UK or USA, and you wouldn't dial that time of day.

is it going to happen again tonight?

Woken up at quarter to 1 this morning - thought it was an emergency - very thoughtless of this company whoever they are.    Why do they have my home number anyway?  Its ex-directory and telephone preference service registered which, to quote their website:  makes it a legal requirement that companies do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS. Ofcom need to look into it.
