Featured in Private Eye magazine, labelled as "fraudulent and underhanded!

Google "ASA PSCA COMPLAINT" to see what the advertising standards authority think of their operation....

I don't think there's much more that needs to be added here, pretty much obvious what kind of company they are....

they keep calling me too and i cannot wait to attend one of their shows and harrass them face to face!!  I have had calls from all the ones mentioned, I think some may be changing their names not to protect the innocent!!

Hard selling events at £4k a time - kept asking for my MD, I wouldnt let them past then they tried others in the company to get to MD, fortunately all calls came through me - didn't get anywhere. Avoid.

I told the guy - Shahin Miah - if he wanted to talk to our Vice-Chancellor he should send us an email to explain what he wanted to discuss.
The response was: 'we don't have email, so I need to talk to him personally'.

Me again I reported nuisance callas back in April and after screening their calls for weeks - sometimes up to four calls a day it went quite.  Now has starte dup again although tellingly I am being asked to call back 'Adam' with no clue to the Company name.  I have their number committed to memeory so I know it is them, and to double check a quick 'Google' of the number brings me back to this forum!

List only works when used correctly ? Blaming your staff how professional , considering your a large organisation who is turning over a vast amount of money per year as you claim can you not invest in being professional at ALL times, no doubt you treat your staff as badly as you do your potential clients !
You scream  of arrogance and ignorance to what professional companies want and what they deserve when they invest in a large amount of money in your services, my company has been called by your employees on several occasions and has often recorded shouting in the back ground, and cheering and clapping ........You are not professional you do not follow guidelines and regulations and one day you will truly get whats coming to you !   small man syndrome springs to mind !

Very nicely put "Director". Small man syndrome is definitely a good way of describing that little overblown arrogant [***] Gordon. His sales techniques are disgusting as are the vast majority of Spivs who work for this Scummy organisation. I have first hand experience. Don't worry though, It wont be long until PSCA is a distant memory.....

I will shamefully admit I used to work for this organisation, I was a desperate individual at the time. I would like to just inform Gordon if he is reading this I will ensure I make the largest and most dedicated contribution to ensuring PSCA dies of a painful death.

I dont have to justify how and why I will do it, I just will, I also have the legal backing to ensure it happens. You are all nothing short of failed window salesmen who cannot obtain a proper term of employment. I'm now an account manager for Orange plc, how I ever worked for this [***] and even begged for my job back because I was on my [***] I will never know, but time and reflection highlight one of the biggest mistakes of my life, working for and feeding the [***] of an oraganisation owned by Gordon, PSCA international.

You might all say, "yer but you begged for your job back". Exactly that, they take on anyone, and anyone despersate enough to lie to pay the bills. A chapter in my life over, your time is near Gordon!

For years they rang us and used various nefarious ways of getting me on teh phone so they could try and cheat money from me. PSCA became a byword in our business for dodgy or underhand dealings. They started to get more success when they changed their name to 'public service' and managed to get past my PA that way. However they used the same tired old techniques and I quickly rumbled that it was them again.

A friend of mine who works at Private Eye told me that PE were quite interested in them and sent me a pdf of an article by the great, late Paul Foot. I have cut a short passage from it below for all to see in teh hope that forum's like these will alert more people to the sort of instincts and morals these people have.

Irronically, when I had had enough and asked to speak to the MD I was passed through to a man called Gerrod Mellor who told me he was a compnay director. I subsequently learnt that was just another in the litany of lies they tell. Mellor is a Sales Manager, and an odious and utterly charmless one at that. He assured me that the calls would stop but, of course, they haven't. We now take their calls, pretend we are interested but pass them to one of our interns or office juniors and tell them to pretend they are a director of our company. This not only gives our younger members of staff a crash course in how not to behave professionally but has the added nonus of wasting PSCA's time and annoying the oiks who work in their sales team.

Anyway - here is a quote from Private Eye article which has much more information on their misleading claims about distributuion numbers and an admission from Gordon Warrender, Sales Director, that ministers don't actually write articles for them (a view not shared by his own staff who continue to claim taht they are so close to ministers I am surprised the forthcoming nuptials have not yet been announced)

The DTI forced them into a name change after Companies House concluded that agency name was “so misleading an indication of the nature of  its activities as to be likely to cause harm to the public” and likely to make both readers and advertisers believe it was a government agency and its magazines officially sanctioned.

Had an Adam Moody call to speak to my director. Seemed nice enough but after reading this then I proably wont call them back.

Have PSCA ever been told by the British Government (specifically the DTI) to change their company trading name because it was deemed misleading and likely to cause harm to the public?

Has Gordon Warrender ever been found guilty by a tribunal of bullying staff and fined £40,000?

YES - FACT

Do PSCA use crown copyright material which is publically available as editorial? Do they then claim that the author of this publically available material writes for their products to add credibility even though this is not a true representation of the author's participation?

Do PSCA salespeople routinley purport to be senior members of staff who have been in meetings and have rushed out to phone a company because a senior civil servant has demanded their inclusion in a publication - despite this whole meeting scenario having NEVER ONCE happened in the ten years they have been trading?

Have the Advertising Standards Authority ever found that PSCA's job adverts falsely misrepresent PSCA's links to government?

YES - FACT

Does all this add up to give the impression that PSCA are perhaps not the most ethically run business?

You love coming on this site, you and your team obviously are missing PSCA after all we did turn you all into good professional sales people.

Public Service - they organise sponsorship for a variety of events, mainly those involving various government departments. They lure you in by saying they have people who would want your services and basically they are trying to sell you marketing through offering sponsorship oppportunities at their events, or by you buying (for quite a bit of money) a speaking slot / running a seminar at their event to, in essence, promote what you do.
I've asked them to take me off their list for that as I don't have that kind of advertising budget, but they keep ringing every couple of months or so. I know how to spot them and others like that now so I just say no thanks straight away.

Rude/Pushy/Time wasters - - Avoid all calls from these

The same sales rep from this 'company' has called us 4 times now in 1 month. Twice today. Each time asking to speak to my Exec Director. When I would not put her through she was extremly pushy and rude. I tole her that I was more than happy to forward a message or confidential email to my Director but was not at liberty to give out his direct email or phone number to callers that were not known to him.  This news was not well received.

Confrontational, rude, I would go so far as to say aggressive sales person.

I had also googled PublicService.co.uk and the phone number that "Rebecca Wilkinson" had finally agreed to give me (ironic that she was reluctant to give her name or number when asking for that of my boss) and found all of the comments below.  I told her that I remembered her from the previous call and had looked them up and didn't think that we would be interested in what she was selling.  This infuriated her and she became confrontational and extremely unpleasant.

Don't even bother hearing them out.  Even if it is a genuine company they are so rude and have a nasty undertone that I doubt any respectable organisation has got anything to do with them.  

Please save yourself time and stress by ignoring them from the start.

Wendy - there are no falsely attributed postings on the Birmingham pages - only Paul's contribution which he did make himself.

Maybe you should be speaking to him first before making libellous allegations against Govtoday Ltd which may well turn out to be false. Personally I hope Govtoday sue you. You have made a lot more enemies than Tony and Pete.
