Report a phone call from 01214563336 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- tim replies to Dave Hunsdale| 3 repliesIs this the same as PublicServices.co.uk? I got a call yesterday from someone called Nicola who said they had seen our website and have this conference in Manchester in April which seems to be quite bona fide looking at the website.
Today I called them back to respond to this Nicola and spoke to a man who seemed very pleasant but quite determined that I was going to listen to this very long spiel about the conference in Manchester and it seemed too good to be true when he told me that for £3,000 we could have our collateral in delegate bags for the conference that will be attended by 2000 important people. The catch seemed to come with us needing to respond IMMEDIATELY with our commitment and it was when the guy called me 4 times in succession to see if I had received the form that we became suspicious.
Is this the same outfit with a different name the phone number is 0161 831 7111? - Bob replies to timYes - same lot on that number. did you mean two thousand ot two hundred? either way they are trying to rip you off. the website looks good but trust me - it is the lipstick on the pig.
- Smiffy| 1 replyProbable scam.
Public Service Events have since called back to enquire re my Executive's interest - they were told that we were not interested in their offer of a conference exhibition place at the cost of £12,000.
Despite this, I anticipate yet another approach - the company appears reluctant to accept 'no' as an answer!- Caller: Public Service Events

- forfrom replies to timI got a voicemail from Nichola of publicservice.co.uk 0121 455 8820 today asking me to call her back, not sure whether to or not.
- ac955| 1 replyAfter numerous calls from this company which went to voicemail, we decided to answer one. The voicemails had said that we had been identified as the only provider of a certain technology in the UK and they urgently needed to talk to us in relation to an MoD contract.
Despite thinking it was unrealistic that we'd be called out the blue, I forwarded the call on to our Managing Director (who's a very busy chap). He spent nearly an hour on the phone to this company, who wanted £6000 in return for a small advert on this website for 6 months - http://www.defencemanagement.com/. He tells me he was first taken through giving lengthy descriptions of what we do, thinking that we might get a contract out of it, before the hard sales tactics evenutally hit.
Apparently, £6000 was reduced to £4000, and then to £2500 (still extortionate).
Our MD transferred the call back to me at this point, as he needed to talk to a customer, and I got the sales pitch as well. The person on the end of the line simply wouldn't give up; I asked if we could call them back once we'd made a decision, and they said 'no'. Eventually, needing to get on with some work, I said I urgently had to go, and the salesperson simply hung up on me.
The end of the call got quite heated and I was getting a lot of abuse and rudeness from the publicservice.co.uk salesperson.
We've done some more research between us and publicservice.co.uk Ltd. appear to have a very bad reputation for this.
We have therefore decided to post our account on these forums so that others don't fall for the same tactics. These are obviously hard-selling tactics, but can seem real when they're placed directly in the context of your particular business. Our advice would be to avoid at all costs.
We are also registered with the Corporate Telephone Preference Service (http://www.tpsonline.org.uk) and so will be issuing a complaint about this particular organisation. As they've wasted a significant amount of our time, we are also considering persuing them for a fee commensurate with this.
We would recommend that others reading this post their experiences here (the larger the volume of text, the more likely others will be informed about this outift), and follow the same steps as we have done if they have the time available.- Caller: publicservice.co.uk

- Straight Player replies to Smiffy12k for an exhibition stand could only be offered if the event was a major expo with thousands of attendees, their events have a mish-mash of around 150 over one day. This company PSCA has brought the events and publishing industry into disrepute, I also work in the same industry and if I had a pound for every client who has moaned about their treatment at the hands of PSCA i'd have enough for an i-pad.
I sincerely hope they get their just desserts. - An Ex-EmployeeAfternoon everyone, just though I would add my two pence into this discussion.
I was employed by there scum bags and drawn in by the massive amounts of money to be earnt and the credibility of the company.
[***]. Basically there is a room with 20-30 people in and phones. There are no computers, there is no database, the staff have to go home at night and basically google the companies that they are going to call the next day. So when you get asked to be removed, there actually is no database. The staff have a pile of numbers/companies/directors and call through them all day.
It is a joke, I have worked in sales for many years, including double glazing sales, this is by far the worst.
If your wondering why they are so harsh on the phone, it is because you are told in induction that if you put the phone down or end the call without a sale you will be sacked. You have to get the decision maker to buy or put the phone down on you.
It is a terrible business, I am not sure how it is still running but it was massively going down hill when I was there.
I left after a month to much relief, and found sites like this when I left.
Terrible company, I feel for you all. - ColofscoThis company offered me a job, i am so glad i found this website. The company and the employers sound absolutely horrible, and i guess most employers last about 2-3 months maximum.

- Tata replies to HoodwinkedDear Hookwinked, what happened than? How did you go on with that? They have seemingly closed that Company and opened the socalled Pan European Networks, same type of activity. I have written to the email address I had to explicit my cancellation and asked to reply. They will not do it, of course. I will ask the institution for which I am working how I can legally deal with this situation. Actually, I signed on behalf of a lab which is only existing on a web page......Could you help with this? Thanks
- tata replies to interested bystanderYes, they do! They are now opened as a socalled Pan European Networks, claiming to be a journal which is helping scientists to egt their work disseminated. Everything sounded "normal", as we deal with similar affairs in our business. Then I came across these pages and got enormously upset......I am trying to get out of it. If you know how, please tell me. Thanks in advance.
- Tata replies to timHi, they are now running a Company called Pan European Networks and I was called. The guy was but a pleasant person and I was on the computer.
