- Caller: optus
- pacman replies to katie orreThey been calling my no for a few weeks. Ususally answered by someone else, but managed to get it myself.
They are trying to\sell internet security.
I stopped them mid way through the pitch and informed them. I worked in IT, ran linux on my pc and knew 100% it didnt have an infection as they had informed me. They hung up! Hopefully they will stop bothering me. - SuziI've so far received 19 calls in 2 days from this number on my mobile. I mistakenly answered the second call and it was an Indian woman calling herself "Rosalie", I didn't hang around to find out what she wanted and hung up. I think its a computer randomly ringing numbers and if you pick it up they pick up at their end.
- Caller: Not known

I asked him what his company name is he replied '24/7', I asked how he knew I have a computer & what company did he have a business connection to - no response. He said that I had to be on my computer to talk me through the process. I told him that was not going to happen & hung up. After ringing 1471 the number has called again.l

- fed up with these callsI have received several calls now from this number claiming to be from Windows 24/7. Yesterday I asked them if I could hand them over to my son-in-law who is a computer technician and they hung up. They called again today and I have told them never to call me again. We shall see!
- Caller: Windows 24/7
- SuzeQJust given a caller from this number short shrift. They are persistent though - another caller the other day wanted the same information (name, address etc details of Sky account).
- Caller: 0123456789
- hornsharkWe have had 3 calls from these people in the last 2 days. First they said they were from 20/20 in association with Microsoft, The latest time they said they were from 24/7 working with Windows. We have also had a couple of calls with the same scam from an unlisted international number.
They wouldn't explain to me how they got my phone number, i don't have any idea how they got it coz i have a new number that i have only had for a couple of weeks and it is not only ex directory but i am also on the Call Preference System. which means that it is illegal for a company to sell my phone number to other company's and it is illegal for a company using random dialing to call me once i tell them i am on the list.
Unfortunately these people (criminals) don't abide by these rules. i don't know how to stop them calling me, but if we can tell people about them on sites like this and warn as many people as we can then maybe they will have to stop what they are doing because no one will believe them and give them money.
Don't give out any personal details over the phone, not even your name and address,
Don't give out your birthday or your normal security questions (mothers maiden name etc.)
Don't log into your computer just because someone on the phone asks you to, doesn't matter who they say they are.
Don't allow them to 'help' you fix your computer by giving them Remote Assistance to your computer.- Caller: 24/7 & 20/20
- Call type: Prank
- ThePhotoMnThis number is used by one of those damn PPI Claim firms chasing business. Its a recorded message; so just hang up & dont ring them back!
- Caller: Unknown
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ThePhotoMn| 1 reply'Flipping Heck! This number now being used by a firm calling themselves "Windows 24/7" who offer to show you the mass of corrupt files on your Pc & then charge you for "fixing" things. Bunch of Scammers as have at least two Customers (we build Pc's) who machines have been knackered by these swines!" Obviously not from a UK Call Centre & darn hardfaced with it; because when I told them they had been rumbled & was going to report them for harrassment they started arguing back!! Had the upper hand, however; as they had no answer to being told to go forth & multiply followed by me slamming down the receiver!
- Caller: Windows 24/7
