- PO123Got a call from this number today, from "someone" calling themselves GEORGE MATTHEWS from the world wide web. Told me my computer had a fault on it and to switch it on and they would try to rectify the fault, I did not fall for this SCAM, put the receiver at the side of the phone and left it for a few minutes. When i went back to the phone he was still there, i told him that the person they were talking to had left the building, he called me a [***], a MOTHER ****** amongst other names, i told him i would report this call to the police, he said go ahead, he will give my number to his colleagues and they will continue phoning me. I am already registered with TPS. Is there anything that can be done about these calls?
- Caller: no name - GEORGE MATTHEWS world wide web

- Lydia A| 1 replyOk long story short my bf told me he has gone abroad for 3 weeks and he called me of this number. I thought it was the area code of where he went but when i discussed the cool number he called from with my friends they told me its a area code near london somewhere so i dont know.
He said he used a calling card to phone me.- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Nan replies to Lydia AIf you read the other posts on here, this is not a UK number. It is being used by a variety of scammers for all sorts of reasons. It could also be some sort of a generic number which appears when someone uses a calling caard.
- SarahHad about 5 calls today from this number, tring to tell me that there was some problem with my window system on my pc. Ask on all five for my number to be removed but it not happen yet.

- VandrosdisI had a call from this number just now, I was greeted by a very polite Indian man/woman ( I couldn't tell the overall gender). They asked for someone who wasn't there, then was asked if I was a family member. So I replied "yeah why not", and the conversation continued. I was then informed that my computer had been sending out error messages and they were going to help me. My best Oscar acting came rushing out and I led this person deeper into this charade with " oh no, has it. I have wondered what had gone wrong. I was ever so worried. I'm glad you called to help me". This persons genitals must have begun to tingle by this point, as an opportunity for me to purchase some software to rectify the issue was thrust upon me. At that point I turned into the shark and said that I was trying to sell mobile phone contracts, and I would buy anything they wanted me to, if they bought what I wanted them to. "We don't work like that I'm afraid", the he/she replied. I then offered an amazing deal on windows, pay for 8 and get just 2. This offer was rejected aswell. Seeing their patter had suffered a bump, I offered to call them back. I asked for their number and I said I would ring them back at the most inconvienient time. The man/woman hung up, and ended my fun.
I ask this, if they didn't know who I was then how can my computer send out error messages?
Have some fun with them, turn it around and harass them. It will brighten up your day.- Caller: 01234567890
- WoodymahoneyCall from this number at 2120 this evening. Silent call. 1471 said it was a network which was unable to leave a number. Sick to death of all of these. We need government intervention and legislation (international) to criminalise such activity, with very heavy penalties for companies, scammers and even call centre employees who persist. Seize their assets and jail the perpetrators, or design some kind of electronic response which will track the call back and destroy their equipment.

- Barry replies to catherine hilditchI had the same this morning and the same times. Managed to answer the 4.30am but line was dead. Appears to be coming from a Skype user. Thing is both me & my wife have ill parents and we feared the worst.
- Barry replies to SamIts coming from Skype. Skype use 0123456789 is the caller id for Skype.
- BuzzersRec'd call on mobile - before realising the dubious nature of number string. Just hope that in answering I have allowed a hook into my mobile phone data and banking details, let alone my contacts telenumbers and email addresses.
- Caller: Unknown
- SamMissed call only - thank goodness but rang three times on one day, and also used 01234567893
- LADYBLUE01234567890 -get called from this number several times a day - never answer it but wonder if I did it might stop the calls - they always manage to call just as I'm dropping off to sleep! Sometimes I wonder if somebody has binoculars trained on me!
- Eric EvansAnnoyingly after two missed calls they ring at around my daughters bed time, so no opportunity to really let rip at these low life. They are still, unbelievably trying the old "pc sending error messages" scam. There must still be people who believe this stuff or they wouldnt do it.
Its also a shame that after all this time the Indian government have failed to clam down on this. Perhaps they don't want too. - HilHad several calls form this number recently - accidentally answered it today - said it was 'Smart Support Guys' regarding serious problems with my computer and wanted to talk me through the problem.
- Caller: Smart Support Guys ?
- trevWhad call from this number 19th March 2013, man said he was from World Wide Web and they had detected problems with my Computer. I had already heard that this was a SCAM they ask for money to resolve the problem and then access your computer remotely which then allows them to either put a virus on or get all of your private details.
