Just had a call from this number. Very bad line and lady with an Asian type accent and poor English told me she was from the technical department of the world wives web. Apparently my computer is causing problems and she can help me fix the problem.  She wanted me to sit in front of it so she could talk me through the fix. Needless to say I said no. I could hear lots of people in the background, like a call centre, and at one point there was cheering and clapping. Some kind of scam going on I assume.

These scammers call themselves the worldwide web, bit I like your version better!  It's a long running scam under various fake names and fake numbers, all from India.  They want remote access to your computer so they can install spyware/malware to steal personal information like bank details and passwords.  They rely on scare tactics and lack of computer knowledge to get what they want.  Everything they say is lies and they do not have a clue about your computer.  They don't know your ISP or your IP number, or even what version of Windows you are using.

Asian male called to tell me my refund was due re. mis-sold insurance on a loan.  As I have had no loans, I interrupted him to ask which loan, who from, how much for, and when taken out, at which point he cut me off.  Clearly a scam; no doubt he would have gone on to ask me for my bank details for the promised refund, after which my account would have been mysteriously emptied of funds!

This number has been calling me twice a day (01234567890).  The voice is Indian and seem to know my name.  He claims that he is calling from 'World Wide Web" about a fault on my computer.  I said there is nothing wrong with it and he immediately hangs up.

I have been called by this number. I answered. An Asian lady asked me to confirm that I was over 18 years old. Then she told me that she was recording the communication.. Her first question was my postcode... then my house number... I asked her what she was going to do with my information, she answered that she was updating their database. I stopped the communication... I then checked about this number and found something interesting. Please check on, http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/t30296.html asI do not want to have any problems with copyrights....An important part of the message caught my attention:"Communications watchdogs have today been pressed by MPs to investigate a new service that allows people to fool caller ID systems into displaying a fake number, amid fears it will be abused by ID fraudsters and other conmen.
It's thought such trickery is currently legal in the UK. The Liberal Democrats have called on regulators to act however, claiming the availablity of such services in the UK could make it even easier to fleece the public and invade privacy.
So-called caller ID spoofing services have been available in the US for several years. Now, a new firm named Spookcall is bringing the controversial practice to the UK with the tagline "be anyone you want to be".
Ofcom has not responded to requests for comment on the launch.
Spookcall works for landlines, mobiles and VoIP calls. Such services have been used in the US by private investigators, direct marketeers, prank callers, voicemail hackers and phone phishers. More benign uses such as allowing call centre workers to work from home are also common.."If we notice the message was written on the 9th August 2010.... we are taken for granted!

Had this number and ignored it as calling at inconvenient time  ie when cooking a meal. Just taken the call; Indian guy asked for me by name then said he was calling about the technical query I had raised regarding my computer. I don't have a computer! When I told him that and he hung up.

Suggest if these people who are obviously crooks trying to gain access to your computer ring you, play along with them and when asked for your IP Address quote 195.99.147.120 that's GCHQ, MI5 and the Metropolitan Police Service - Special Branch, should give them a shock and possibly prompt the UK security services into tracking them down and locking the basta*ds up.
