this number is weird when I rung it back it rings then a woman comes on and says the number you have dialled has not been recognised please check the number an try again - this is not the BT operator and if
it is not a number why does it ring first.

To everyone who is wondering how this number is dialling you and why it isnt recognised i will tell you.

This company are obviously based in India or somewhere, they will be using VOIP systems to call the UK. With VOIP systems you have a setting to show a certain number as ID. This can be changed to whatever they want. Hence the reason why they have picked 01234567890 because they have just typed in a number that doesnt work so you cannot get back in touch with them.

Please do not give your IP to these people as they will more than likely then install a remote keylogger on to your system or ask you to purchase equipment with a keylogger built in.

Just so you know what a key logger can do here is a description: (think your banking passwords etc)

    Invisible and Undetectable

Keylogger can run completely undetected and fully invisible. Even computer-savvy teenagers won’t be able to tell whether it’s running without knowing your Master Password, nor can they stop or uninstall the monitor.

    What’s Recorded

logs all key presses and keystrokes typed on your PC, and saves any text pasted from the clipboard. Thanks to periodic screen captures, you will have access to fully illustrated usage history of your PC. Keylogger can also, track Web sites and resources visited by your family members, and log all applications launched on your computer.

    --------------------

So once again people DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR INFORMATION but maybe just to waste their time if you are bored, make up an IP address like 195.40.122.61 and put them on hold a few times saying your computer is not responding etc etc etc.....

Rogue computer support company, do not let them have access to your computer and certainly do not give them any money.

    Total scam artists.

The same old call. Indian phones from improbable number. Tells you he is from World Wide Web Servers. A fault has been identified with my computer. It is a common Windows fault which he can fix but meanwhile, it is disrupting the internet (!). I was happy to inform him that I am running Linux Ubuntu and not Windows (untrue). He then vanished - which is what I was about to suggest his parents should have done all those years ago.

Just had a call from this number, a man with a asian accent calling himself kevin jones saying he was from the world wide web and that he had detected something wrong with my computer, I asked him where he was based he said london, I asked him for his employers name, he again said www, so i asked for his boss's name, the line went quiet before he hung up, I have no doubt he was going to try and scam me for money to "fix" my computer.

Any money they can scam you for is a bonus.  What they actually want is remote access to your computer.  If they get it they will install spyware/malware to steal personal information like bank details and passwords.  Luckily this lot are so stupid they try to say that www is a company!!!  Needless to say, nothing they say is true and they know absolutely nothing about our computers.

Just had a legitimate call from this number, it is probably a VOIP terminator or something similar.
