Hi just had two messages from C.A.R.s first from Lucy then Robert Parker - I know I have no unpaid bills or debts. called after the first text to find myself in a queue to speak to an agent so hung up as have no intention of paying their phone bill for them. If you really owe someone money you will know, and they will have told you in writing of their intention to hand your outstanding bill to a debt collector. My advice (for what it is worth!) would be to delete the message and forget about it. If you have a bill and problems paying go to citiszen's advice for help on what to do.  Good Luck!

Have also received a couple of text messages to contact Robert Parker, when I contacted the number left and asked who they were, was told that they cannot tell me unless I gave them my details.  Refused to give these and put the phone down.  As someone mentioned earlier, they are a bunch of con artist.

I have just received a text from te Lucy Palmer blah blah!! I used to have a memebership with Fitness first. But had to cancel because i was moving to Spain. I was told all i needed to do was to give a months notice in writing and it would all be cancelled! which i did. Also i have a friend who work for Fitness First he has told me to ignore these text messages because they have no right to be demanding money! He also said if you carry on to ignore them they will give up.

I received a text message from these people, also with the name Lucy Palmer.  When I called I was straight away asked "What card are you using to pay your bill".  They claim that I have an outstanding bill of £27 from a telecoms provider but this is definitely not the case and they said that they could not give me any more information.  Sounds like a scam to me....

I have just received the same message. I was with Fitness first and wrote to then to cancel my membership in june. They still collected my money so I write to them again in July. I presumed the problem would be sorted so didnt check my statements until september and I saw that they had taken my money on both months. I therefore cancelled my direct debit and I presume that that is why im geting harassed

I have received a text message from C.A.R.S. to urgently contact a Lucy Palmer.
I have been a member of Fitness First for over a year, and I recently advised them, by Email on the 25 Oct 2010, that I no longer required their services, and that October, (which payment by Direct debit, is due at the beginning of the month, which was payed,) was going to be my last month. I canceled the direct debit on the same day, and about a day to two days after they receiving the email, they attempted to draw the Novembers payment, which my bank stopped.
They then contacted me at the end of November requesting the November payment, at which point I advised them again that I had contacted them in October, and their reply was, they never received the Email. Having now Google d this phone number ( 01256306797 ), I now realize it is to do with Fitness First. I find this behavior, greedy and rouged, how can the servant, request funds for services not rendered. I do not want any communication from Fitness First, or C.A.R.S. 01256306797, DO'NT CALL US WE WONT CALL YOU.

YEP i got me one of these texts today from Lucy Palmer, interesting that when i called Lucy was on her lunch break, Oh well I only wanted to speak with her anyway.  
Well ive got a fitness first account, used it for 2 months then have to move from the area where the closest gym is 25 miles away, So on the basis it will be impossible to use have tried to cancel my account.  Had no sucess so stopped paying my payments.  
Now i believe C.A.R.s are chasing me for outstanding payments BUT guess what they can whistle...
Don't give any information  to these muppets.
What I suggest you do is ask them to provide you with all the information they hold about you under the terms of the DPA.  It may cost £10 but it may also stop them from being so shifty.

Just received a text today from 01256 306797, DODGEY DODGEY DODGEY!! Thinking I was almost clever, thought i'd do a search and found this site, thank god!! Avoid avoid!! email clauchawt@gmail.com

I had fitness first calling me about an account for about 3 months, they have the wrong number, it is about an account in a different part of the country and I have never set foot in a fitness first! I kept ringing and asking for my number to removed, it took ages for them to stop, eventually it did..... Until now, I have started getting texts and phone calls from CARS asking me if I am Francesca somebody (I am definately not) when I explained my long running issue with an incorrect number on their system and tried to get reassurance that it would be removed the lady on the phone became irratated and short with me! Shocking, has anyone made a complaint to watchdog or anything?

I was in the same place I closed my bank account and opened a new one fitness first even charged me  b4 signing a contract the proper hungry dogs now I am gettin txt from cars get it up ya fitness first u need phn them up and make a [***] up and support it with a letter becz they will keep on harrissing u

I just received the same message but it was in my partners name, all very confusing. Will give them a call and see what they want as we've never had gym membership
