this number keeps ringing me every few days but they hang up as some as i answer, yet when i did ring it back it said i have dailed a incorrect number

My wife was stopped in FAro airport and asked to do a quick survey - this was on our way through to board the plane. It didnt take long and last week i reeived the phone call saying we had won a holiday and just had to ring a free 0800 number - didnt bother and lost it in any case so couldnt - now read through this and see its a scam - thanks for to everyone for their comments and help.

I missed a call off this number the other day...no answerphone msg but they rang back again today so I answered. Said he was calling from a company called PLD (I think, he said it really fast!) and that I had entered a competition via my email address last month and that I had been selected for a prize. He asked me to confirm my address and my email address, my age and partners age. He then asked me to confirm the fact I was a home owner. I said No I rent and that I wouldn't have put that on the questionnaire. He immediately hung up.

Should I be worried? I can't for the life of me remember filling in this questionnaire and why would they hang up when I said I wasn't a home owner? I tried to ring the number back but it said it was not in use!

Keep getting calls from these people all times of the day, they never leave voicemails- just ignore them will tell all my friends and collegues!

Received call on 1st October saying I won a holiday and need to call 08009889940 to claim. when I rang male on other end of line said its a some security company.

Got a call today and when I answered it, they put the phone down. The crazy thing is that I don't ever fill in questionaires EVERY. I make a point of not doing things like that because I can't be bothered with the junk mail, calls and letters afterwards!

Got a call from Club La Costa on this number today and was told I'd won a free holiday for four. Asked to ring 08009889904 to make arrangements. On that number I was given the speil about the free holiday providing I attend an event at the NEC. Smelled a rat and said I couldn't confirm one of three dates without making family arrangements. Off the phone I did a search on the numbers and the clcexhibitions website to discover that its a timeshare scam. Given that they lie through their teeth why can't Trading Standards close down such sinister operations?

I keep getting calls from this number - it will ring twice and end before I can answer it. When I try to call back it says the number is unobtainable!

My partner received a call 2 days ago on her mobile from this number saying that she had filled in a questionaire and that they were checking details.  On that note she put the phone down after saying that she has never filled anything.  Will keep you posted if any more phone calls come through

I have been getting calls twice a day I do not answer as I do not recognise the number found out all about them from this web site well done everyone.  If anyone knows if they have a freepost address we give them back what they give to us.

I've just had a call from 01268 557600, the lady said that I had filled in a questionaire in the local town centre, which I have never done. Apparently in was in the last 12/18 months. Short time frame then! The lady was pretty slow too and when I said that I didn't do it she hung-up.

Thanks for this website as the cold callers need to be shut down.

Havent taken the call but have been called 5 times in 3 hours

These chimps have called me 8 times in 3 days. Glad I only gave them a work number.

Got 8 missed calls from this number yesterday and the day before! Tried calling back (before I saw this site) and it is unobtainable.
Really annoying now! I haven't filled in any questionnaire or anything though, so have no idea where they got my number from.

I recieved a call from 01268 557600 today. They have called 3 or 4 times before over the past week or so but lucky enough to had missed them. Anyway, I answered today and the telemarketeer asked to speak to "Mr Pain". I laughed out loud and responded by asking them whether they had been speaking to my wife? My my surname is "Cain" not "Pain"? The young lady then hung up straight away!! Got their own back without trying!! Seriously, these lot are very annoying!!

Received a call last week telling me I had won a holiday as I had been pulled out of a prize draw for completing a survey on 23/09 in Alicante Airport. I dialled 1471 and the number came up as 01268 557600.  I was told to call      0800 9889904 to claim my prize.  Having read your other emails this would appear be some sort of scam.

I stupidly fell for the sweet lady at Capel Manor Park in Enfield asking me a few innocent questions to enter a draw to win a carribean holiday for 4.....since then I was phoned and congratulated....I have won a holiday in MAJORCA?? they gave me the 0800 number to call to claim my prize.  I know from my sister in law who pursued it a few years back this is a scam to make you go try out their holidays abroad, sure they offer you a free voucher to go away for a week but there are costs involved like booking fees and flights and by the time you've added those up you arent saving much from a regular week away in europe, its pointless.  I havent called the 0800 number as I dont want anything to do with this, I have told them when they called me back but now they just call and hang up on me if I answer so I ignore the calls.
