These people hae been ringing me for a year. It got really bad about 6 months back when they were ringing 3 or 4 times a day. This is even though I don't listen to the sales pitch and tell them not to call. They did stop for a couple of months but have started again today. Two calls so far. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.........................

thanks everyone just alerted me to a con, just had phone call told the only cost was a 29 quid booking fee, phone the free phone number to claim. i dont think ill bother

I had a call from this number twice today. Thought it was a bit odd that they call twice, one after another, and thought I'd google it and guess what, the holiday scam again.

Last month I had a call at work saying I could be in with a chance to win a holiday. Like any one I entered, them only having my work number (we are based in the Guildford, Surrey area). A few weeks later they called again to say I'd won. I thought wow! and then realised it was the Club la Costa scam.

Be careful and just ignore their calls. As Nicola wrote on 23/1/08, they will get tired eventually!

We've just had exactly the same call from the same number with all the same details.  Checking back it looks like they tried 3 more times while we were out.

They were right about one thing, they got our details from the Destinations travel show at the NEC, which we attended a couple of weeks ago.  We filled in a number of enquiry cards for things which were of genuine interest and one which, after filling it in, we thought "something about this doesn't feel quite right".

Thanks to google and this great site, I have been saved from multiple phone calls and aggravation. Yes - it was a questionnaire outside Asda and I thought it was a little strange at the time... After the call from 01268 557600 I thought I should Google both that number and the 0800 number... leading me to here and the information available. When they phoned back I just told them what I had found out and then put the phone down. I hopefully won't get any more calls. Thank you to everyone who puts their two-penneth on these blogs. Legislation cannot protect you but the internet can...

Well I got a call from that number this afternoon but strangely I couldn't answer it even though I pressed two different answer buttons on my phone - probably says more about how adept I am with a PDA smartphone than anything else. Anyway I tried calling it back with my landline but number was unobtainable, both times, hmm! I guess they've got my landline logged now. Damnit! Guess I know what to expect now as well.

Hubby just had phone call, said he had won a holiday, he phoned me to call them on 08009889904. Um i dont think so!!! If it sounds to good to be true, then it is.Little tip for those annoying calls, answer phone let them speak for 30 secs or so then ask them if they can 'hang on for a minute', put phone close to tv, radio, hoover or any sort of electrical equipment that noisy and keep the line open. They are unable to close connection until you end call.I have found this works very well indeed.

I have just been called by this number, was a bit concerned as I do have family with the 01268 number so immediately called back, to which I got a dead line.

Thank you for letting me know about this scam, I have these sort of people call me on my work number saying "I am the lucky person who has won a prize", we all know you get nothing for free in this life!

Just had them call from them. To be good to be true. Thought of The Real Hustle. good old Google.

Didnt recognise the number so didnt answer, found this site and tried to call back but not a known number. Pattern emerging it seems!!

i've had the same thing from 01268557600, its been going on for over a month now! i've been getting about four calls a day but haven't answered one.

Had a call from very friendly lady saying I had won a holiday for four people all I had to do was phone this number. I asked her twice was this a a scam and she said no I have WON. I was so excited as I haven't been on holiday abroad before as cant afford it. Rang the number and was asked couple of questions and lady said as I dont earn over £25,000 per annum I cant have it. This was a cruel Nasty Scam they need to be stopped.
Reported to Morrison's store as they where outside their store

Much the same as others report when you return the call it is shown as invalid from a mobile phone and not recognised from a landline

Just had the same call from 'Club La Costa' from 01268 557600, so many thanks to this site, I must add that if you are willing to put up with 'low pressure selling' then try the Marriott's Vacation Club. my wife and I went on one of their subsidised trips to Mallorca staying in a 5* hotel for three nights, it was absolutely fantastic, the sales meeting that you had to attend was very low key and as I said low pressure, just a thought and no I don't work for Marriott!!

They called me on my mobile, I tried calling back but unobtainable. I thought it must be dodgy, hence google searched the number and found this site.

calls me about 5 times a day - i have caller id and dont answer numbers that i dont know and when you ring back its a dead line

hi ive just had a call from this number via,my mobile number reported to bt.and there gave me a another number to call,so much for bt helping if its a scam...never answerd it tried to call back got no response..v7x3
