I had a call from this number last night at 19;25PM.  Claiming they were riniging to quote me for Home Insurance.  Where are they getting my details.  I am told, they can get it from web-sites I visit.  My number is ex-directory, I am TPS regidtered since 1998 with regular updates and it seems these callers have no respect for either of those or for the Data Protection Act.

Hiya again.  Since January 1st 2012 I have receive 76 unrequested cold calls ncluding one very aggressive from my gas provider challenging me not to switch electricity to them.  On the 4th of January his year I had 8 in one afternoon.  Last year I had 75 all year.  Can nobody stop these people.

This is one of various false numbers used by a company called Money Made Simple (UK) Ltd who attempt to cash in on the PPI insurance refund market. They have a website at www.ppiadviceline.co.uk . Once they have your number this company calls almost every 15 minutes every day. It is a dodgy PPI insurance scam. All the authorities are aware of this company and the fact that they are operating illegally but none of them are bothering to take any action despite 1000's of complaints. You can call them back on 0800 292 2233 and ask them to stop calling

Suggest  anyone hassled by this caller use the link below to the e-petition to the government -- I have   and I have pasted it into an email sent to all my contacts asking them to subscribe to the petition and to forward the email and link to all their contacts.   If we all did this it could well go viral before the end date of the petition. We're also registered with TPA which means nothing to these people. After a particularly threatening and abusive set of over 40 calls on one morning from those virus scamming people I bought a CPR call blocker. Now I just press a button and they can't ring me any more. Just did it to 01274663293 - such a sense of satisfaction.

Received call from 01274663293 claiming that I'd been miss-sold PPI on a Natwest Loan, and said they'll connect me to the person who deals with loans. I waited 5 mins and got your call is important to us please hold the line, but all I got was death like chamber music! I then put down reciever, but still there, dissconnected from phone and connected again and still there, and managed to get rid of them by unplugging phone lead direct from its socket and my phone bill is higher this month?

Cold calling is illegal-prosecute these people and give them fines that are appropriate to the crime

Unsolicited call about ppi

Just had a call from this number asking to speak to the previous owner of my phone number. They apologised and then hung up when I said I wasn't "Mr Adams".

Nasty little company keeps ringing me.  Called them on 0800 2922233 and the guy wouldn't tell me anything except they are PPI Advice from Yorkshire. When I asked for address of company and name of managing director, the gibbon said he couldn't give out "such confidential information"!
But it's OK for for them to have my confidential info???
Then I called their customer support on 01274 260040 who tried to fob me off with an email address to complain too. I refused and said I wanted to speak to a manager, the girl tried to say she wasn't allowed to put me through. I said I wasn't going anywhere until she did. She finally relented and I was put through to a guy called Andrew who was very polite and said my number would now be removed. He said as he worked in customer services dept he had no idea how his company had obtained my number (yes, I am on TPS). But he assured me I would be removed. We shall see.
BTW, ignore the previous comments and apologies by so-called Redress Claims managers on this thread. They are rubbish. They ask you call an 08848 number to get your number removed. Be warned this number they give charges you!

Just had a call from some idiot asking for the wrong person. The first name was correct but had the wrong surname. If they can't get the basics right how suitable would they be to progress a PPI claim?
Bunch of shameless and unscrupulous sods.

Told the lady on the line that we had no ppi but thankyou anyway and she hung up on me, so rude and ignorant!!!!

your explanation is not good enough. You are obliged to screen numbers against the TPS or run the risk of being fined by ofcom. If you screened the numbers properly you wouldn't be getting complaints.

I have just had such a call and it really annoys me. Do not make unsolicited calls. I have lodged a complaint with ofcom.

Only reputable companies abide by TPS rules and scrub their calling lists to remove registered numbers.  Rogue companies do not, and these are the companies we need to report to TPS.  If we don't then they don't know we are getting them.  Many people think that just registering stops calls but it doesn't.

Unique prospects or as they are now known I am pleased to say we took them to court for data they sold us which was garbage. We won our case on Monday, as soon as we get judgement we will be sending in the bailiffs. No doubt unique prospects number 3 will pop up. They are a bad bad group avoid at all costs.

Just had a call from this number but I have given up answering our landline due to the volume of unsolicited calls I get daily. I always let the answer machine kick in and see what happens. The message was "The other person has cleared". I also have been registered with the Telephone Preference Service for many years but it makes no difference to the vast volume of unsolicited calls I get.

Unique prospects were closed down last year, Unique Prospects International then set up.... hmmm I wonder if its the same people..!?!?!?!??!

Just had a call from this number and i think he said they were called 'home plus' (something along those lines anyway) and that he noticed my home insurance was due for renewal (which it's not), he could give me a competitive quote and was my last renewal for buildings and contents or just one or the other? I told him it wasn't due for renewal and goodbye. He was polite and went straightaway and without any fuss. Should have asked them to remove me from their database though!
