got 1 call  from the said number, when i phoned back it said number isnt recognised then got another call, when answered it just went dead. i 1471 it and they left no number......it has to stop...

Phoning most days.  No messages left and if I answer there's no-one there.

This number has called me every hour since 14.00 until it finally stopped at 17.35, they never leave a message even though my answerphone is on and if I do pick up the receiver nobody is there and it rings off.  I wish they would leave me alone.

I have been getting calls from this no, and others, when i look the no up,it  is always a no belonging to UPS tracking, i have nothing expected so dont need to track anything, when i try to ring back it is silent, no dial tone or anything or no ,not recognised, fed up with them

This number calls at least twice a day.  We do not answer and they do not leave a message.  If it was ligitimate and important, they would leave a message.  How can I block this number????

I had woman with thick Tyneside accent ring from the offending number today, and when challenged said they had my number on their system.   Naturally I told her in no uncertain terms to remove my number from their system, at which time she rang off.   There followed a series of calls from that number over the next two hours at about five minute intervals and when the answer phone cut in the caller rang off.   She obviously did not like being told to remove my number!

got a call this morning asking to speak to my husband.  Said he is not at home - do they not realise normal people are at their work - anyway I asked who was calling and he said he was calling from MSS insurance.  Hung up.  I am sure they have phoned before under a different guise.

Strange call from this number yesterday. Called me around lunchtime. The young man on the phone asked for me by name. When I confirmed this, he told me the company he was calling from, waffled on about changes to the credit laws or some such thing, then asked if I had any credit cards. When I replied in the negative, he promptly hung up. Charming!

Hopefully this means I've been crossed off their list...

Idiots like you should be not be aloud to run companys

Not sure how many wrongs make a right but there are way too many going on here!  

I too have been driven to distraction by unsolicited and unwanted calls from Redress.  As my number is ex-directory and has been registered with the TPS for years, I find this unacceptable.

After several hours of research I am confident in stating that Unique Prospects have absolutely nothing to do with this matter; the fact that someone has posted personal address information regarding one of the company directors is very disturbing.

It is also both disturbing and worrying (yet strangely amusing) that the owners of the "Who Calls Me" website have a "Legal Stuff" section which quotes chapter and verse from US law; somewhat inapplicable in the UK!  They lead off by pointing out that anyone thinking of taking legal action against them will be wasting their time and money.  The abiding impression given is that they accept absolutely no responsibility for any posted comments, even out and out lies!  Perhaps time to remind everyone of recent legal proceedings involving Twitter users.

It is grossly unfair that the innocent may be condemned as easily as the culpable.

To anyone suffering the annoyance of these calls - from any source - may I suggest the following course of action:

Confirm the name of the offending company, by any legal means.

Obtain their email address.

Insert the appropriate details then forward the following email -

In spite of being ex-directory, registered with TPS and ALWAYS  ticking the box for no third party communications, I have been receiving unsolicited and unwanted tele sales calls from your company.

All details relating to telephone number ***** ****** must be removed from any and all databases and lists in any medium be it written, electronic, audio or any other format held, owned, purchased, sold, solicited or in any way provided to/by you and/or any and all ancillary companies whether or not wholly or partly owned by your company.

I will allow fourteen days for compliance, after which time I reserve the right to seek legal redress and financial compensation including but not restricted to inconvenience, distress, invasion of privacy and financial loss.

All of the above is also to be applied to this email address.

To be signed as you prefer.

If the calls continue after this, report the company to all the bodies mentioned by other posters but add your local Trading Standards Office and if the company is offering any type of financial service then also report them to the FSA.

If all else fails, take a tip from my eighty year old mother; she tells unwanted callers that all her affairs are administered by her solicitor.  They never call back!

I've just had these people phone me 6 times in a row.
I finally answered to the 6th time, and all I heard was a long beeping noise.

Unique Prospects have played no part in this situation. Yet we still recieve condemnation from individuals who are not educated enough to comprehend the actual situation.

I would urge you to report any further calls recieved to the authorities.

Have you got a big chip on your shoulder Mark? Ironic how a data peddler and their client spam callers get upset when the tables are turned and they are outed. Suffer a little of the agony we have to endure day in day out and be a man not a wimp.

Slagging your customers (even if they are as awful as Redress Claims) and your victims says nothing for you nor your tin-pot data peddling Unique Prospects excuse of a company. Reputable clients falling away?

The authorities? Redress Claims don't give a damn about TPS lists or they wouldn't be repeat calling do not call numbers. I may well take the ICO suggestion posted above. They appear to be a better bet.
