Steve Jakes was a compulsive egotist walking around shouting things like "Hit your targets or I'll [***] close the business down". He created a really bad culture to work in coupled with drink drugs and a horrible way about him no wonder the business found it hard to recruit nice people. Somebody told me even ordered coke in for some if his managers and he used to snort in the car park at Regus house Hubert road in his white A5 convertible. Any staff thinking of working there should read the reviews and think carefully if they want to work for such an individual.

How can any right minded individual think that this is a way to build a lasting business. People who live in fear of losing their jobs from an MD who's volatile and verbally abusive to his team will just put their cv out there and get another job as soon as they can.

When I worked there Steve Jakes would turn up late, stink of drink, come in with cocaine induced colds, and scream and shout at his staff then thump things ( usually book shelves and folders ) and go home again for the day.

Whilst Mr Jakes has sought to get things like this removed from the web it's all true and if you're reading this now Mr Jakes you need to accept that you did all of this (and more) besides.

In my opinion you have mental health issues and you should seek help to recover. I mean this sincerely and this should not be taken as on line abuse I and others actually think that you do have mental health and addiction problems and should seek medical assistance.

Remember the time we all went to london on a coach laid on by Steve and he got on board with tons of coke and by the time the bus was at Romford somebody had passed out, somebody else was sick and somebody else was sitting their completely off their head unable to talk. From that point on I knew what the culture was like working for you Steve.

I even heard a rumour that jakes would put tiny parcels of coke in managers pockets on nights out and say "there you go son that's for you". Shocking.

Steve Jakes is a lost soul thanks to his drug addiction, drugs are the root of all evil and why those addicted to them think they are Mr. I AM, they are not and it's just the drugs weaving their way into their tiny pea-sized brains.

Steve, you need professional help, why not go to a support group and get some help that way, I'm sure you could be a nice guy if you actually got off the drugs.

And why you are about it, why don't you actually run your businesses properly?  Make sure that you give everybody who pays for services, the actual service they have paid for, not some bollocks...

.....On the side note about them being kicked out of the office, I thought it was two things, firstly them not paying their rent and secondly because many of the staff members were stealing from other companies office, they certainly did this at Brentwood as I remember several employees (who shall remain nameless), going into the office next door late at night.

Jakes is also bordering on being an alcoholic not just class A substances upsetting his life.

My money is on Steve Jakes stealing stuff, how else can you explain where he managed to fund a cocaine and alcohol habit as extreme as his?

Certainly not from the businesses he was running, they didn't make that much money hence the reason they are in liquidation.

I don't think it's fair to name anybody in public who may or may not have stolen things from adjacent offices.

If such a thing did occur then let those guilty come forward on their own accord, naming them without proof could be liable.

I worked at ufindalocal for over a year ...They may have been a lot of things ..drug taking , stealing from other offices never saw any of that in any case anyone worked at the building will know offices all had security key for door and camera's. ..lies and gossip one of reason why a lot of good content was removed...ufindalocal and Steve had his faults but don't think he ever stole anything from other offices...stick too business issues not attacks based on lies..people thx

I'd agree with that .. Steve was or is a heavy drug user which changed his personality and would come in stinking of drink after a night on the wine he would constantly swear and be unpleasant to his staff but don't think he stole from the offices though. He is however impossible to work for and the most self obsessed [***] you'd ever meet.
