Cold Calling should be made illegal.

Any company who set up a call centre to make random calls does not deserve to remain in business. They get paid commission for arranging home visits to check insulation, something your own energy company will happily do for you.

Nuisance call AGAIN! This must stop as registered with TPS but what good is that?

You can only have success with the TPS if you report them with their number and name of company. If it is a silent call with just number not much TS will do.
Just being on it will often not stop the calls, if you do get them you must report the call to the TPS with number and company name, that's why it's important to ask who the person is calling from. As some have said if it's ESI then you could report it to TPS and this may put a stop to it.

As for 75% grants, most lofts can be insulated FREE unless it's a huge loft.
If anyone wants to arrange a survey through British Gas I can arrange it no problem, all surveys are Free.Just email me kith@clanvmk.co.uk and let me know. Rumours are the government will stop the free Loft/Cavity wall insulation so get it while you can. My cavity wall was already done but I had my loft done free and have had 3 friends done free of charge too.

Home enery assistance claiming to be calling on behalf of the government. This company repeatedly calls- despite me being registered with tps and on three occasions telling them I have a newborn who they wake up every time they call. I live in a listed building so I can't have any of the products they offer- I am sick of them calling and if I get one more call I'm going up to there call centre and snipping there bloody phone wires. I think they got my number from the phone book as they ask for me by my maiden name. My last call was 30 min ago and my baby is still crying. So I am mad mad mad!

I have a variety of virtual landline numbers, and this firm has managed to call 80% of them, but because they only get voicemail, they move on. As all numbers are TPS listed, they really are scum - avoid them at all costs.

Called me at 10:41 this morning and hung up when I answered....

As others have said this is a sales company pestering people registered with TPS (who have no real power to act) looking to make money from insulation/boiler sales etc. They may well get you a govt. grant but if you contact your local council you are likley to get a much better deal through them. This is a private company simply out to make money and they don't care how they do it. They don't care about legislation and laws designed to stop them calling people on registers such as the TPS.
Stay well clear of them. If they continue to pester you pretend you are interested in their products and make a false appointment so that you can waste their time by them turning up to be told you are not interested and have deliberately made a false appointment as they have wasted your time. They hate this and will soon get the message to leave you alone.

Answered this call and they immediately hung up.  Was that because I am registered with TPS? Perhaps they would have left the usual message if I had not answered.

Had call today from this number calling me by my deceased mother's name. When I said I wasn't the person, was asked if I was the new owner. I asked who was calling,didn't get an answer but was asked had I applied for the government grant for loft insulation. Told her I don't have a loft! She then hung up. These pests should be put out of business! I am on TPS and fed up with unsolicited calls still getting through!

I think the scam is to offer you less than the 100% grant available and claim 100% from the government.

Same as other - claim my free boiler today!   Asked for my wife by name - a lady who is paranoid about giving out info about herself.  Makes her mad that someone had sold her data - wish there was a way of finding out who those crooks were!

Would like to know who are the company behind this number.

We were called by someone calling themselves EIS Energy purporting to offering Government backed boiler upgrades.
By the looks of earlier posts this appears to be a company jumping on another wagon after the loft insulation bonanza.

We're registered with TPS but it doesn't seem to stop these calls getting through!

Had ESI Scotland Ltd trying to get my parents to get new boiler fitted with them through "goverment grant" They arranged to visit parents when my Dad got in from work, two salesmen turn up (an irishman and a scouser) 3 hours early trying to get my mum to sign up but she declines until my Dad has heard what they are offering

I thought they sounded a bit suspect so did a bit of research.

Call today from a very "pushie" lady who stated that it was about Government grants and that she would get a Salesperson to contact me.  Asked what it was about, said Government Heating Grants.  said I did notrequire a Grant.
"min later Salesperson phoned. Apologized to him, but the manner and attitude of lady who took initial call, was deplorable. She either did not know what the answer to my questions were or , more like;y, did not wish to hear that I was not interested, hence hung up phone.
