6. The Respondent was born on 12 May 1944 and was admitted as a solicitor on 2 October 1989. His name remained on the Roll of Solicitors. The Respondent was a solicitor and then a partner at RC, a firm of solicitors, until 1995. From 1995 until 2006 he practised in partnership as Wosskow Brown Solicitors, and from 2006 to date as Wosskow Brown LLP ("the Firm").

18. The Respondent was one of the partners in the Banners Partnership, which in the mid-1990s purchased the Banners Building. The Companies House annual return to 23 October 1998 showed that the Respondent, Mr W, Mr IC, and one other were shareholders in The John Banner Centre Limited, which became the owner of the Banners Building during 1997. A company known as Times Gone By Ltd ("TGB") was also involved.

28. The Respondent was appointed Company Secretary of NLS Sheffield Ltd ("NLS") on 31 October 2003 and was a signatory on the NLS bank account. NLS also rented office space in The John Banner Centre. An associated company, Nationwide Legal Services Limited ("Nationwide"), recruited franchisees/agents who offered Will drafting services to members of the public. A solicitor at the Firm drafted Will templates for NLS and provided training to the franchisees/agents of Nationwide.

29. In or about February 2006 the Respondent was approached by DTI investigators in respect of matters concerning NLS. On 21 March 2007 a winding up petition was presented against NLS by the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry on the grounds of public interest.

30. On 28 March 2007 the Respondent wrote to two members of the NLS management team who wished to start their own business. The letter stated that: the Respondent had purchased an "off the shelf company", Dovedon Limited ("Dovedon") as a vehicle for the new business;that the staff would deal with as many Wills received prior to 19 March as possible; the Respondent had "ring fenced" all monies received by NLS after Monday 19 March by transferring money from NLS into a separate client account;
that staff would work outside normal working hours to enable Wills received after 19 March to be processed by Dovedon; that the Respondent would pass monies held in client account to Dovedon as
Wills received after 19 March were completed; that the Respondent would draft an agreement between NLS and Dovedon to deal with the ongoing situation up to and shortly after the appointment of a liquidator;

Jaclyn Stevenson was a director of NLS one of Bartons companies she was calling herself Oakes not long after NLS was closed. The Will writing Industry is littered with people who were associated with Barton. His own Daughter Nikki was a recruter for NLS York. Gerry Barton bought the Links Golf Course in Bridlington but it was his Daughter who was listed as a share holder not him. They ripped me and over 2000 others off to the tune of £7000. I would like to ask Gerry for my money back. Some hope.

I would advise anyone not to use will writing companies as the industry is  full of sharks. The training we had was totally indequate for the importance of wills. Always use a trusted Solicitor.

Right here is some truth about GERRY BARTON  and how he had us ovèr you will know who we are if  you were or still. Involived here we go one day money was tight and Gerry needed cash to pay the wages to us n telecam stall n we needed to be paid to pay bills and put food in for kids we were paid 100 pound   to cash a cheques for 2500 plus (yes we did it a few times with the promise they would be honered gerry signed the cheques with graham croft  name on the cheque places rang n  phill (bridlington)  and grant bowles said they were graham and honered the cheques  now were over 6000 in debt yes stupid us also  gemma got cheques on side just like nickki (daugher) nhis wife to

When they say they have a highly qualified experienced representative in the area giving free legal advice, they have actually got afew girls off the phones that were still just telesales in March 2013 driving round that know nothing about what they're talking about, would you trust a girl out of telesales that was only booking appointments on the phone a month ago to protect everything youve worked for?? haha I know I wouldnt!!
Its a complete disgrace!! They train for 3 days then go out on the road getting people into debt and ripping innocent people off!!

Synergy Legal (used to be called Express Law) claim to be members of the IPW but they are NOT.
They tried to use the logo but the IPW actually told them to remove the logo or they would press charges! They don't want associating with an unprofessional company such as Synergy Legal who send their telesales staff out on the road pretending to be professional, trained consultants!
This site is the reason Express Law changed the company name to Synergy Legal as they had earned themselves such a terrible repuatation they couldnt continue under the same name any longer, people who made appointments were googling them & seeing what a bad reputation they had then cancelling the appointments.
Even as Synergy Legal their reputation is growing as CONS already, they have only been Synergy Legal since January 2012.
A majority of the time their staff do not get paid as the company are struggling financially. The sooner they shut the better for everyone in the country.

This is what they're called now AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS THEYRE SCAMS & CON MERCHANTS!!!

I've never known such a unprofessional, disgraceful company in all my life, what company does anybody know who go weeks & weeks without paying their staff as the sales are low?! So theyre relying on the sales each week to pay their staff!! Never heard anything like it in my life!! My daughter went without pay on numerous occassions due to them having a bad week with sales!! Obviously the people they tried to con outsmarted them on those weeks haha!! She also said it's the TELESALES staff that go out to the appointments to SELL LEGAL DOCUMENTS!! They are not qualified in any way shape or form!! You cant take afew girls off phones and send them out as QUALIFIED LEGAL CONSULTANTS!!
Also its common knowledge that the supervisors get extra cash given to them (back handers) & their cars paid for and lets just say they have 'unusual' relationships ie relationships that managers should NOT be having with supervisors!!  Not to mention what happens on works nights out that include illegal substances!! The company was Express Law & is now Synergy Legal or they sometimes like to call it Synergy Marketing, they are NOT members of the IPW as they claim to be. The IPW actually forced Synergy Legal to remove the logo from their website as they do not want associating with such a bad conning company.
