You cannot stop your bank, credit card company or vendors from selling on your contact details.
1: Only give a mobile telephone number most cold call companies will not pay the extra cost
2: It's about money hit 'em where it hurts....tell the caller to wait whilst you fetch the bill payer and just leave the phone until they finally hang-up
3: Tell the caller that the person they are looking for has just died... it throws them and also pretty well guarentees that the name will be erased from their current lists.
4: Ask for a Latvian translator.....they usually just hang up.

Got call from Premium Genie saying I had filled in a survey and tried to arrange a quote for life insurance

keep getting  calls  from this  number  stop it please or will go to a  lawyer

I have answered this call and have spoken to someone called Dale who says I completed a survey over a year ago!  Nice up to date list ....
Trying to get me to purchase life cover for family and funeral costs.  If you say "yes" he then gets another colleague on conference call to push you to take up a quote.

Just had a call from Premium Genie asking for me by name claiming they got my number from a survey WRONG if I have to put a number in it's always fictitious! Strange coincidence only this morning I ordered something from M & S online which I needed to be sure to get so I did supply my correct number! So beware anyone ordering online!

first of all gArry, surveys have nothing to do with it and for people that don't know the tps don't block research calls - no details etc are passed on gArry, so I don't know what you are talking about. The tps blocks sales and marketing. Got called myself by this people and I just hung up. Nothing to do with me but certainly nothing to do with market research companies either....

I receive a call from the above number or 01477 536273 once a week since I had an insurance claim a year ago when I was wasn't even in my car at the the time yet they seem to think I've suffered an injurie. The company name is Premium Genie. HOW DARE THEY. I'm even signed up to the mail and telephone preference service. AVOID

You are given a clear way in which to get your data removed from this company and you won't contact them as you are worried they will have your e mail address too! Do you not have a spam filter if they did that?

You cannot complain about a company unless you have contacted them and asked them to remove your information from their system. If you want to find out where they got your information from send a S.A.Rs (Subject Access Request) which will cost you £10 but will let you know where the got your data and also what information they hold about you.

If you do make contact and they don't remove your number then go and complain as you will have every right to.

Sadly if you have given your number and details to someone (bank/insurance company etc) and you haven't ticked a box to say that you do not wish your details to be passed on then they are well within their rights to sell your information to people who can contact you as you have technically given them permission! If you ask them to stop calling and they don't then you have a case to complain. TPS stops cold calling from companies who call random numbers or gain data from places like voters role.

Premium genie seem to be like most outbound call based companies a pain in the bum however research shows that a large proportion of the general insurance market have bought and saved money on a product purchased over the phone.. I have seen numerous comments In regards to TPS "you shouldn't call
Me as I am on the TPS service" tip: if you use a website to compare your insurance and don't specifically ask not to be contacted for Any products.... Your details are passed on and you will be called and the company calling will have a permission that over rules the TPS service you are paying for. Not what you want to hear but court of law fact!!
