this number keeps calling me, when i call back beforen 5pm i have to leave a message, after 5pm i have spoken to 3 people, given them my number and they said they would remove it from there database. They also said it was one of there claims handlers.I told them i havnt made any claims and i am not being claimed against. twicw the phone was put down on me. i will be be nreprting these as my mobile and home are ex directory

Received a call from 0151 255 3580 today for my husband. He was out and they refused to speak with me.  When I questioned them what the call was about I was told it was not a sales call.

had this same call today, they call me and never say anything, i just leave it connected

Despite note dated 11 November 2008 from BT click above, it looks like 0151 255 3580 is back in business. I'm also ex-directory and signed up to TPS - both for many years - but am now getting cold calls from this number. I'm not a former Bulldog Broadband customer (see Jon's very informative note of 5 Nov 2008) so interested to know where they got my number.

01512553580 called today.  Asked for my husband by name.  We are ex-directory too, so how did they get our number and know my husbands name and details.  They said they were calling re a car accident we had had in the last 3 years.  My husband said we had not had any and that they had the wrong person.  It was me that queried it saying if they had the right phone number and the right name then they had got our details from somewhere!  I tried to call back but just received a message. Reading some of the other messages it seems they may be calling back.

I was just called by this number but when I answered they hung up. A colleague suggested that I type the number into Google to make sure it wasn't a scam before calling them back and this was the first site that came up! I did NOT call them back after reading the comments above!

i am receiving calls from these gob sh1tes. i live close to their premises and as i am now semi-retired i can spare the time to visit them with my SLR (camera, not rifle, pity). When i have finished photographing everyone entering and leaving the premises i will pass the photos on to my friends in the Inland Revenue and DWP, just to confirm that they are a bona-fide company as they state, and the correct taxes & NI contibrutions are being paid.

Had a call today from these people and i hadnt had an accident annoying yes.... but to PAYBACK up above that is probaly one of the most saddest things ever trying to grass people up to the DWP or probaly failing .. and its actually against the law to take photos of people without there consent unless your are a rer private detective ... i think your the one who needs payback you pervert.... i may inform this company and they can trace your ip address and inform the police of this

Just had the 'accident in the last 3 years' one and the guy hung up on me!!! Which was a bit of a surprise but I suppose he guessed from the tone of my voice it was a waste of time.

This is big buisness and insurance companies will sell your info on for a prie its a credit crunch so companies will do this as accidents are big money.... so put it this way if you was desperate to survive during a economic crisis YOU also would resort to anything to keep your company running this company is big and has over 100 staff and by doing this is keeping afloat otherwise alot of people would be redundant so at the end of the day it is now the way of the world....accept it and move on..

Quick update. Just managed to get an answer when I called them back and I strung them along for a bit trying to get more information from them of what exactly they wanted to offer me. I then asked for full details of the company so I knew who I was thinking of doing business with...!!!! and the guy did give me their full business name and address which he said was

He sounds thoroughly fed up when he realised I had wasted his time as I wouldn't then proceed by phone!! In fact he was rather arrogant.

I think we all realise this is the way of the world which is why we register with TPS. And if insurance companies are selling on phone numbers of people who have had accidents to be cold called in this way they, the insurance companies, deserve to be in difficulty for treating their customers so dispicably.
Anyone suffering from an accident deserves to be offered support in a more sensitive manner and not having their phone numbers sold to the highest bidder.

Called me 3 times in 2 days, 1st i missed, 2nd i answered and they were asking me about a car accident Ive had in last couple of years?
I lost signal so couldnt find out anymore. they called again an hour or so later and I ignored.

I had an accident three years ago and i was insured with swinton, number called about 1 hour ago and of course I now check all numbers before calling them back, i'll add into phone as yet another marketing call!!

this number, 01772643207 and 01517032754 keep calling me, i answer and they hang up. getting really annoyed. its only been a problem since i used an insurancecomparison site - confused.com i think. Thing is, i haven't had any accidents for SIX YEARS, so if they are from an accident company, they dont actually have very good information about me.
getting them 5 or 6 times a day, for the past week.

Caller ID on our home phone registered this number about 3 times in two days! Did not bother to call them back as left no answer machine message! Registered to Telephone Preference Services and if they start to continue harrassing us, then will pass on a complaint to TPS which ultimately leads to a hefty fine! This number wasnot discontected in 2008! I am proof of this!

Called asking for my wife, said she had been in a recent car accident ( she had not) said they were from some accident management company, we are registered with TPS but they still phoned, guy sounded unsure as tho he was working from a script, when told my wife had not had a car accident he said " Oh  did you have one then "

i just got a call from that number on my new sim card that i just bought how on earth did they get that number
