Also received a call. Called them back and pressed 9 to be removed from the service, whether this works or not remains to be seen. Also did the ICO survey / form / waste of time  :)

My Truecall unit prevents them from bothering me, however, despite being told not to call me they persist.

This number dialled yesterday, straight away the automated talk kicked in. Straight away I put the phone on the side and didn’t press anything. I listened to the phone about 3 minutes later and the line was dead. Just about to report it to that quango called TPS.

We have been receiving the same annoying recorded PPI call many times from this number: 0151 909 1965.  It took me a lot of homework but I discovered one company involved: Magrathea Telecoms: http://www.magrathea-telecom.co.uk, phone number 0845 004 0040.  I think they provide the 0151 phone number to their client, not sure who that is. After you have reported the call to the Information Commissioner on .ico.gov.uk, phone up Magrathea and tell them you want your number removed from the call list and they should ask their client to do so.

Just had an automated message and stupidly pressed 9 to opt out. Will I be charged for that?

I cant explain how angry it makes me when i get a call from this number!  I am quite worried when the phone rings now.  I used to be excited but 9 times out of ten it is either from this number or 'caller witheld their number'.  How do I stop it. TPS says they cant do anything because it is an automated call.  I cant tell them to stop becausethey dont answer me!!

This is a scam! Do not press any numbers or it could cost you, just hang up.

Unsolicited, recorded message call from Debt Write Off company. Invited to press 5 to be connected to an operator or 9 to remove our phone number.  Did neither. Have ex-directory number so this is random dialling.
2nd nuisance call from this company.

Just had another call this morning from the plumb in the mouth English speaking w****r.
Never pick the phone up. Going to get a call blocker from Amazon, good reviews for the £39.95 model.
I am on TPS which is a waste of time.

Called today, the 5-second silence on the other end told me this was a computerised call that wsa waiting to connect me to a warm body. I have been registered with the TPS when I got this number and it told the number was already registered, so there is no way I should have been called. I didn't get this when I was with Virgin Media!

Received automated call today from 01519091965 saying I may have had PPI and claiming I had expressed an interest previously in receiving these calls and to press 5 if I wanted to speak to someone and 9 to stop getting the calls.

Been registered with TPS for 10 years but pressed 5 out to find out who the scumbags were and report them.  Then got connected to a call centre with some impoverished Liverpudlian trying to earn a crust asking if I had debts and was struggling to cope etc.  Anyhow got a bit fed up with this line so I said was he wanting to find out if I had PPI before as that was the automated message said.  He then said oh yest that's right and had I had it on a mortgage or credit card etc and I said mortgage.  All this because I still don't know who they were.

Finally when I had convinced them I was a good PPI reclaim prospect he said he was going to connect me to somone else and after five minutes listening to space age type music got connected to a woman who again wanted to know what products I had held via the Liverpool call jockey.  Finally when they decided I was a good prospect she revealed she was calling from none other than TPF Law Solicitors of Manchester and that they would be putting a pack in the post for me tonight to fill out!  Their full details are TPF Law Solicitors Queens Chambers 5 John Dalton Street, Manchester, M2 6ET, Tel: 0845 073 7177

Very, very naughty indeed for a firm of solicitors to be procuring PPI leads by employing a calling company they know is going to violate TPS registration and TPS rules.  Have already reported to TPS (don't clck the dot  on their form to say it was a recorded announcement first - just click the dot to say it was a Live Sales and Marketing call and give the details for TPF Solicitors and you will have no trouble making a report) and will be doing an online report but also a personal email to the CEO and Senior Directors of ICO on this one.  If ever there is a candidate that deserves the full force of the law and maximum fines to be applied for breaching TPS and PECR rules it is obviously a firm of solicitors who cannot say they do not know the law or why doing this is illegal!!!
