Just had a call again from these numpties - driving me mad !!!!

Same as everyone below has reported. I am with the Telephone Preference Service and I definitely did not opt in to receive these calls, so I reported the number to the Information Commissioner's Office.

"This is an important message. You are receiving this call because you have opted IN to receiving these types of calls from the financial services industry"

Well thats news to me! "Press 5 etc" so I did. "Get this effing number deleted NOW". Area code indicates based in Keith, Scotland.

Informs you that you can get up to 70% of outstanding debt written off. Not so good as statute of limitations then re the 6 years total write off? "

Strange thing is that dialling the number gets an unrecognised number message from BT

Scamming calls to my kids grrr! How do I stop it?

I spoke with the agent (Sarah). I didn't even get to finish my sentence telling her that I'm registered with the TPS before they hung up.

So annoying.

Just called Virgin regarding these calls, they apparently have a special system which they can use to stop these calls.

Will wait and see.

Since changing to Virgin last year we have had SO many of these calls that I have now written to Virgin asking why this is, since I am ex-directory AND TPS registered, I also reported one particular company to Action Fraud after receiving 17 calls in one day!  Definitely suspicious that this only started happening when we changed to Virgin.

Listened for about 3 seconds. The best thing to do with these is program them into your phone under nuisance. Then just ignore it. I don`t know what else you can do because they just seem to ignore TPS etc

Just call a call for these - saying that I may be entitled to accident compensation - listened to a few secs and hung up...I'm on the TPS

While looking up the number I got ANOTHER call this time from 01274572953

what are the chances of receiving 2 phone calls from 2 different numbers within 2 minutes
where if you call them you just hear "The number you called has not been recognised check the number and try again"
That suggests to me that the same organisation are using both these numbers

Just got a call from this number.  Recorded message that just goes on and on about debt - which I've never had.  Claims I've opted in for these calls - which I'm careful never to with any company.  Got total scam written all over it.  I'm registered with the TPS (due to similar calls in the past), so they're not legitimate.  TPS complaint service says they don't deal with pre-recorded, so made the first complaint with ICO.  If these calls continue to cause me grief (I work nights, and they often wake me), I'll end up pressing the option to be put through and give the b*****ds both barrels before long.  Scammers like this are absolute scum.

Just had 3 calls from these rude scammers. Rang, I answered with a "Yup" & they asked who they were speaking to. I didn't reply but put them on loud speaker, turned the tv on the Sky channel 855 & left them listening to Sky News Arabia. I went in the kitchen & left them to it - I heard "they think they're funny" I just hope I've not been charged for their call?

same old message about debt but got no debt do not go any further with this call if you use caller display phone ignore this number or be pesterd for ever more

Had another message today. Despite blocking them with a call blocker, they have phoned from another number. Same message as all of you so am now going to report to information Commissioner. Just google ICO and there is an easy report system there so if you ALL report these b...........s something might get done
