I never answer calls unless I recognise the voice.
This no. has just dialled me, left no msg.
Again, I'm grateful to read of others' info here.  I have no debts, no credit cards, and landline is ex-directory.

10.15 am call, 19/3/13.  Fed up with calls from this number offering to solve debt problems, let it go through to Option 5 to an operator to try and get calls stopped.  Person of indistinguishable name answered, I asked him for name of company, he told me it was Debt Response Team.  Hardly the name of a reliable company.  I then told him I was fed up of his company calls to a TPS registered number which are now bordering on harassment, and he slammed the 'phone down on me.  Steer clear of this one.

Likewise, just reported to ICO.

Moaning is all very well but we all need some action taken to deter these sort of people - right?

TPS only causes a reduction in calls as many companies ignore it or are based outside UK.
Just report to ICO (http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints)
They are more likely to take some action?

I am receiving this because I have opted in for these calls.... I have NOT..

Saying I gave requested to accept these calls.. I HAVE NOT......Bloody nuisance.

Recorded message: "This is an important message. You are receiving this call because you ..." Call received at 11.03 today 19th March 2013.

Just had a call from this number but when I tried to call back (I had thought it was a local dialing code 01524, need to pay more attention) it says number not in use!!
So how does that work??

Get a call from this number EVERY day - and I'm on the TPS register

At least they left you a message !! Called me three times since yesterday afternoon, no message left !! Drives me nuts, I'm disabled and it takes me an age to get to the bloody phone.

I get very distressed when they keep telling me I have debt. I have never been in debt in my life. I have saved hard and gone without all my life,so how the hell they think that I've been in debt I don't know.

Usual pre-recorded message about opting in  and writing off debts.

This is the same type of call as 08434108154 and 08432 890036 - both of which have been reported to teh ICO as will this one.

Same again. DID NOT opt in, I opt out always. Tried ringing number and surprise surprise "number not recognised". Yet another spoofed call, these should be made illegal. Its highly unlikely to be from Keith  in Scotland, whose population is around 5000, and with such a low population there will be thousands of 'spare' phone numbers which are sold by dubious telcos !!!!
If we needed these peoples services we would be contacting them, without doubt these people are scammers and most likely criminal fraudsters.

Received a moment ago - as previous reports call offered a debt service.

I had apparently opted-in due clearance given to other financial services. This is a TPS registered number and we certainly HAVE NOT!!!

Have reported to ICO with the note that it should be make it an offence to make such a claim without specifying the undertaking that has apparently released your contact data.

Recommend others make the same observation.

Don`t ever answer unknown numbers displayed on my phone.If it`s urgent they will leave a message.
Allways look here to see if other people have had the same call.
I then put number in my caller list and name it "SCAM" so I know when it comes up again I can ignore it.

Called but hung up immediately I answered the phone. Normally i let the phone ring and the answerphone kick in if thr number is one i dont know. Didnt this time. Will next time
