I got a text on my landline saying "Call Diana at McKenzie Hall on 01563554546 immediately". I think it also gave a reference number of some sort. I called back and I did not find out what it was about, but they have removed my phone number from the account / record, as it is no-longer linked to the address they had (so should be last I hear from them). I think it was probably about debt as we have had calls about debt before and lots of other calls asking for the same people - our phone number is recycled! From what I have read it is a company who buy expired debts (legally expired under the Limitation Act) and then try and get people to pay them (hoping they do not know their rights). Might be worth calling back if you know you do not know anything / have a recycled phone number. Otherwise, ignore it!

This Liza Mackenzie is a real nuisance. Why does she keep phoning people, disturbing them all the time ? I would like to get her private phone number and phone her during early hours of the morning to see how she like it. I am glad at least B.T. is looking into them.

Received an SMS on my Land line telephone from a "John" at Mackenzie Hall saying i was to call them "URGENTLY" and quote some long winded reference number. For one i dont know why i was to call them back "urgently"....Nothing was explained as to a reason. And two...What kind of company leaves a text message on a land line phone regarding anything urgent or important????
Alarm bells are ringing here. I am certainly not calling then back! I would advice anyone else hearing from Mackenzie hall to ignore them too!

I didnt get a call in this example. A letter from MacKenzie Hall was posted to my address to a person that does not live at me address. I dont have any idea who the person is or what the debt refers to. So I decided to call MacKenzie Hall. They started asking for my info but after a while I question them about the details they were asking but they did not respond, just plainly ignored me. The conversation started getting heated (for NO reason!) and they hung up on me. I called back asking for a manager and he was just as bad. I wished i never called them but i was concerned about this random letter. I called the police and reported this issue just in case it could be a fraud scam. The Police were very helpful and pointed this webiste out to me too!

I've had repeated messages, over the last 9 months, left on my landline phone for a Douglas Roberts, and that he should call McKenzie Hall urgently. So far I ignored them, as I knew they had nothing to do with me - but eventually it got too annoying. The number left:01563 756530 was unrecognisable so I googled it and found an alternative.
I called and the operative was rude and abrupt; I explained Mr Roberts  was not on this number AND the number they were giving out was incorrect. She didn't sound interested in either peice of information, but agreed to remove my number from the file - so... let's see if they keep calling.
If it continues I'll contact BT about it.

You can apparently cancel receiving these annoying text to voice messages by calling BT on 0800 587 5252. (Its an automated service)

Choose option 5 and this will apparently stop text to voice messages being sent to your phone number.

I have just done it and the BT message (yes another robot voice) told me all messages would be cancelled within 20 minutes.

I'll let you know if its has not worked, else assume that it has.

    Cheerio!

And good riddance to Liz and the Mackenzie Hall team!

    Take two
Please don't call them... See below:
I have now had two text messages from the fools. (A few months apart)
Phoned them the first time and the promised to remove my number.

Well they don't remove you number. I suspect they are making money when you call they back.

    See: http://www.saynoto0870.co.uk/
"Worst still some companies that use these numbers are actually receiving a cut of the phone call costs"

If you get any hassle from this set of idiots when you don't have any debt, are disputing the debt, are not the person they want - see http://www.oft.gov.uk/news/press/2009/44-09
    - OFT imposes requirements on Mackenzie Hall to improve handling of disputed debts

    And about time too!

They received an explicit warning from the OFT a few weeks back.  For those that have bad experiences with this company, report them to the OFT.

They're skating on thin ice - here's hoping they fall right through!
