This number keeps calling and hangs up before I can get to the phone.
Frustrating and very annoying for someone with a disability.
I know nobody in Scotland which is where I believe the call is coming from.

Yet another call from this number.
Thanks for the info re the company.
If we all keep calling the free phone number maybe the cost
of our calls to them could put them out of business?

Got a call today from a woman with an obvious Fife accent who was talking so fast that I had to ask her to repeat the name of the company which sounded like Davis and Dean. She said that the company (business type unknown or non-existent) were operating in my area and that my name would be put in a draw for a voucher (for what she did not say). She already knew my name and then asked if I was the home owner. I started to ask what her company did when she seemingly hung up immediately. I googled Davis & Dean and got only one hit in South Africa for a project management company. I tried ringing the number as I suspected a scam and got a high pitched engaged tone. I am concerned that vulnerable people may be easy prey to such calls and be induced to divulge personal information. Perhaps I could try phoning them a 3am and offer them a voucher.

This organisation has a freephone number 0800185186 and I called this number a few minutes ago and spoke to a well mannered lady who was able to verify that they also used 01592642600. She also confirmed the organisation Davis and Dean were the marketing side. I explained that many calls from this number were causing concern and she said that they were aware of this and were trying to do something about it and "it was students that were making the calls". She is also aware of this website.  She thanked me for my call!  Below is the name of the parent company concerned.

So she claims that she is aware of the problem 'caused by students', and she's trying to do something about it?

Well, she's not very effective, is she?  The fact is they employ stupid idiots such as 'The (non)Person with no Name', who is illiterate, but who thinks his poor education allows him to point out mistakes in other poeple's English - the irony and comedy of it!

They've been annoying too many people for too long.

So, to stop it, EVERYBODY should call Donald MaCleod TIME AND TIME AGAIN, on their FREEPHONE number:

0800 185186 - and ask to speak to Donald MaCleod personally.  If he can't come to the phone, it might be that he's too busy groping his staff:

Director pays out for kissing employee

    GalleryPublished Date: 26 July 2002
    By JAMES DOHERTY

A WEALTHY businessman has lost an employment tribunal after it was ruled that he had kissed and groped a teenage employee despite his wife being in the next office.

Donald MacLeod, 44, a director of the family firm DM Design Bedrooms Ltd, of Cumbernauld, was yesterday ordered to pay £1,070 in compensation to a telesales canvasser, Lindsay Wallace, 19, for unlawfully sexually discriminating against her.

The millionaire businessman had asked to see the girl’s tattoos before the tribunal heard how he tried to kiss her and put his hands on her bottom.

At an earlier hearing in May, MacLeod admitted asking her for a kiss in exchange for a piece of wood, but claimed Miss Wallace initiated the advance.

Miss Wallace, from Eastfield, Cumbernauld, had asked MacLeod for a piece of wood in July last year. As they went to collect it from the warehouse, he inquired about her tattoos.

Miss Wallace, who has a tattoo on each arm, three on her hip, and one on her thigh and ankle, added: “He asked to see any ones that weren’t on show. I declined.”

After finding a piece of wood, they returned to an office within the building.

Miss Wallace continued: “He then approached me, tried to place his hands on me, put them around me, then on my bottom. I backed off and asked ‘How do I get out of the office?’ I was confused and very upset.”

MacLeod denied Miss Wallace’s version of events. However, he conceded that he did ask the teenager for a kiss, before insisting that she then made an advance on him.

In a written judgment yesterday, the Glasgow tribunal ruled: “We had no hesitation in preferring the evidence of the applicant to the evidence of Mr MacLeod. We made a close examination of the demeanour of each when giving evidence. We considered Mr MacLeod’s demeanour to be somewhat evasive.”

Have been called by this number by a politely spoken man who was unwilling to accept that we are not interested in sales calls. He called back repeatedly to complain about our attitude.
Although polite I consider his behaviour offensive and intrusive.

Got a phone call from this number by a woman saying she was from McAllister and Fitzgerald and doing marketing research.  I said I was not interested and she hung up - how rude is that!  I then phoned the freephone number taken from previous postings (0800 185186) and got through to the head office of DM Design in Cumbernauld!  This woman confirmed that McAllister and Fitzgerald was one of its marketing companies.  These people should be stopped.  What are our politicians doing about this?

    1. I do not work for dm design nor do I ever intend to.
    2. I can't take the insult seriously after 'poeple's'.
    3. Good try though.

In my Authority, enforcing IP rights are well below looking after the vulnerable who fall prey to rogue traders in terms of priorities.  It's a tough job and we work hard to protect those who are most vulnerable.  We do support small traders as they often do not have the funds to ask solicitor's assistance on consumer law.
Our funding is now strapped to the point that even the vulnerable are more at risk.
Don't tar all TS Departments with the same brush.  Each Authority has different priorities depending on the Council and the Councillors - but ours is strictly on the side of the people who need us most and certainly not those that can look after themselves.

Just received a call from this number.

Connor on behalf of McAllister Fitzgerald. Asked if I was the home owner. I asked who he was. He repeated his question, I repeated "who are Mcallister & Fitzgerald" & he hung up.

Ridiculous. And intrusive. I hate these people.

I just had a call about ten minutes ago from this number.  The woman said she was phoning from Maxwell and Miller.  I made no response and neither did she, so I put the phone down.  Almost immediately she rang back, but I had gone upstairs and let the phone ring.

How can a company which claims to be so good have so many different names?  I have had calls from Bennett and Barnes, using a fake telephone number in Oldham, Lancs, who are also DM Designs.
