A(nother) silent call just now - think they called a day or two ago - time to get own back. Saw breaking news item on breakfast tv about fines so time to get even via ICO, thanks for the guidance, let's see if we can get them where it hurts, in the pocket.

This number has called us regularly over the past few weeks.  We got called ID phones a year or so ago because we were fed up with the amount of nuisance calls so when the number appears I just let it ring.  Must be a person behind it as it clicks off and does not leave answerphone message.

As reported in an earlier post,
"A recorded message about claiming back bank fees. "Press 5 to claim back fees, press 9 not to claim fees".
Didn't press anything so they have wasted their own time.

Got one from this firm yesterday, but busy so only investigated it now. Reported to ICO, the only way to stop these people.

This number calls about twice a day on average. Have tried the press 9 option but makes no difference. TPC Registered and ex directory makes no difference and ICO will only listen if the company concerned is registered with them.

Time the Government took action on all these cold callers!

Sorry, Susie, but you are wrong about the Information Commissioner's Office.  Companies do not register with them.  The ICO will take action against any company found to be breaking the rules  regarding cold calls.  They only need the caller's telephone number to proceed and can fine offending companies up to £500,000.  It was announced this morning that they have fined a Scottish Solar Panel company £200,000 for making as many as six million calls!.  TPS (not TPC) is, as you say useless.   Reputable UK based companies agree not to call TPS registered numbers.  Rogue UK based companies ignore it.   All UK based companies who 'phone have to be reported to TPS, including their name and telephone number, before they will act.  Then they only ask the companies not to 'phone!. Ex directory only means your number does not appear in a directory, but there are many ways of obtaining our information.

I look forward to this bunch of shysters receiving the same punishment as HELMS; that is the only thing that they will understand

Blocked and repoted to ICO

I let call go to answer phone -.Welsh male voice left message about reclaiming money, 9 to stop calls or write to SA1 3AW obvious scam so now blocked and reported via the Which website. They have a page devoted to reporting nuisance calls. I'm ex-directory and TPS.

Had a recorded call, exactly 1 hour after a blocked call from 00404 8915588, suspect there are a number of  Scammers all based in Princess House Swansea SA1 3LW, wonder if it is the same group who a while ago had prisoners on day release making aggressive calls

Recorded message from Falcon and Pointer about PPI claims (I think - I put the phone down quite quickly).  I think this is the first time a company name has been mentioned in this type of call.  I thought these PPI calls had died out some time ago but now they're worse than even

Automated call from these jokers this afternoon, one many SCAM calls which account for 95% of my total calls.  This call was an automated message about claiming back money from my bank.  Reported them as Falcon and Pointer to the ICO and blocked their number to join the several hundred other numbers on my call blocker!  Today's technology must be well capable of stopping this unwanted phone traffic!

Recorded message from Falcon & Pointer, Swansea, re packaged bank account fees.  Have now had 3 identical calls on 3 consecutive afternoons, all between 4 and 4.15.  Now off to report them to ICO ....

PPI- recorded info requiring one to push button 1 to speak to adviser, button 9 to opt out of call.

how do you block a number pls?

Cold call who claim it is the fault of the supplier and just a few people who are on TPS slip through the net ....
