- LolaDCM Marketing Services in Maidstone and FHM Sales in Maidstone/Ashford area are similar companies, and JK Marketing and Oval Innovations, as mentioned previously. All awful companies, a friend worked at Oval for 5 months and made £100 a month, sometimes more, sometimes less. She was driving to Newcastle and all sorts of places, and never got petrol money, had to pay for accomodation and was working six days a week 10.00-23.00. Avoid like the plague.

and are you close friends with Sir Sugar? - I hate liarsHad an interview with LMC marketing in cardiff last friday, first impressions werent great, as soon as I walked into "reception" I was greeted by some dippy tart called ali shove who's voice annoyed the crap out of me. This was the same ali who had replied to my application, and sent me a confirmation email under a different name (laura mccarter). As I sat down on the chairs, accompanied by the bellowing drum and bass from the radio, I noticed that some of the other applicant were dressed in tracksuits and trainers, indicating that perhaps everyone had been asked for an interview who had applied.
When it came to my interview i was greeted by a forty something year old woman who stunk of B.O and not to mention had a massive build of ear wax. She led me in to one of the adjoining rooms and proceeded to tell me about the business whilst I tried as hard as i could to get in any information about myself as she appeared uninterested in anything I had to say and didnt bother asking me questions. She didnt really describe what the job entailed, but she told me that i would effectively be on "a six month fast track to being a manager, with the responsiblity of 15 people". I thought that was great, as anyone would. She then said that she would ring me back between 5 and half 5 if i had got the position, and said the next stage would involve a day out with the team etc. to see how i fitted in.
The phonecall came around 5 pm to tell me the news in some X factor esque manner ("your through to the final 3!!!")
After reading these comments its clear my gut instincts and general common sense assumptions were correct. I will not be attending the interview tomorrow. Now clean your ears out you dirty fat mare.- Caller: LMC Marketing
- shocked! replies to QuestioningAs many of u on here have found , I too was giddy to get a call back 10 mins after applying on the net with total jobs on a saturday and getting an interview monday morning!!!! its now sunday night and while checking train times for my interview, dont know why just thought i'd google them---so so glad I did! All u idiots who say they are legit and are earning good money need ur heads checking!
It is a fact: THERE IS NO SMOKE WITHOUT FIRE!!!!
1 or 2 bad comms about a co is understandable-its quite an acheivement to p**s this many people off so well done Primus uk, g force and whatever else u want 2 call urself!!! they are praying on the recession and the fact so many people cant afford to be out of work! Sickening!!!!!!!!
Good thinking to the dude who wants to move this website up on the google search---Genius!!!!
P,S to the ignorant human being who says he doesnt want to be a waster on jsa-----Heres something to try n get ur phenominally small brain around----we are in a recession, people are being made redundant-----nobody wants to be on jsa u no its not like its good money but it takes a bigger person in my eye to accept help and advice and most of all to keep up with national insurance contributions towards what little pension we will have in the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! U have a good a think about that loser!!
Rant Over lol!!! - Ex-Rep from ManchesterI must have been so lucky... I knew what direct sales would/could entail, although my observation day in Liverpool took me by surprise, it was door-to-door. There were no delays, the guys I went out with were all very sound and polite, I was offered a position, and I even took it before realising that I wouldn't find so much will to travel between Manc and Liverpool every day! :-)
I really wanted to work in Direct Sales, so in the end I went to work for SRJ Marketing in Manchester. There were some ups and downs, more ups, so I don't slag them or Cobra off.
A few things I noticed all concern individual reps. Yes, there are some very cocky ones, some will be happy to pick up on every little thing just to be leaders and show off, so the point above about the rise of little man is, sadly, true. It is hard to advise on the best course of action, just try to get along with as many people as possible so as to form your own opinion. Having said that, in their morning meetings you will hear a lot of useful stuff that only sounds like a commonplace but in truth we regularly ignore it. Funnily enough, discussion boards like this just prove the point you may hear: that people who feel disadvantaged prefer to get together with others who were "wronged" rather than doing something to change their situation.
I have no doubt there are MDs and reps who mislead the newbies, there is also competition that is too hard for some people to bear. The only advice is to know what you want from this work. If it's money, then be cool about business development, just make your sales, and be happy. If it's business development, then research the company you're working for, find the really good people who produce extraordinary results and who don't big themselves up too much, learn and work towards your goal. One thing I'd say is don't share your goals with everyone, as my leader used to advise me. I doubt he was the best person to share the goals with because, as I would find out, it was hard for him to be happy about the success of others. Aim higher, and discuss your goals with your owner or even an organisational head. In the end of the day, if you want to be an owner, then you should hang out with the owner, not to listen to what your leader has to tell you, shouldn't you? :-)- Caller: Praestantia Promotions, Liverpool; SRJ Marketing, Manchester
- Ex-Rep from Manchester replies to Questioning"I mean, if I'm trying to sell something to someone, doesn't he or she have the final decision?"
That's the tricky part of direct sales business because YOU can entirely control the course of sale, but for that you need to know what, and to whom, you are selling. The problem is, you are often told that you only have to be confident, and product knowledge doesn't matter. THIS IS NONSENSE, and every successful advertising agent will agree with me. You may not need to know every single fact about the Internet, but if you're selling broadband packages, then you need to know your competitors and their options. My sales improved once I made the effort to research and to remember the differences between my client and his competitors. After that I had the upper hand with most clients.
Another problem I had with teaching and training, is that it all comes at piecemeal, you're told that people forget things if they're loaded with too much information. As an ex-academic, I felt there was too little information for me at times. So, you have to play by ear and figure out how to address a gentleman in a suit, or a mum of three (with kids being present). You do it for several months, sometimes guessing right, sometimes wrong, you think "ah well, it's all experience", then you find out, to your utter surprise, there is a special "impact" on how to address different types of customers. Naturally, you're wondering where you leader has been in not delivering this impact all that time. If there is one big thing I'd criticise my guys for is that the approach was a bit too rudimentary at times.
Unfortunately, the downside of many companies like we went to work for is that people who teach and train are at the stage when they still require training themselves, if not in how to do sales, then in how to explain things to people. This work is like studying, you shouldn't expect to hear everything in the classroom, that's why there's homework and libraries. Our laziness will lie in the fact that we rely entirely on our leaders and owners to provide us with every single thing, including product knowledge, whereas in fact we could go and fill in some gaps ourselves. OK, maybe you have to be clever enough to do that and to also make sense of the whole load of information, but, please, why couldn't you?!
I left for personal reasons, not because they "scammed" me or I wasn't successful. However, if I were to join another Cobra company, I'd get them to provide me with more information than I was when I started. - anon replies to Not a scamok then tell me this,if this was such a great and exciting oppurtunity and not a scam, then why is it every single person i work with isn't getting what they're supposed to EVERY SINGLE WEEK??i work for a branch of these companies and it has only dawned on me the past few weeks about the irregularity of the whole thing!please explain, and dont say thing like reworks or anthing
- DangboyWent to 1st interview with Primus uk Ltd last friday (11th Feb 2011).
went to the office on East parade in Leeds. was greeted by the same dippy receptionist Hayley Woolsley, same loud drum and base music on cd player, same 10 other people waiting for interviews in suits, same young brash confident "Managers", same rubbish interview where they ask you no questions but feed you alot of jargon about the prospects of the job (ie running your own dept in a year, earning 70k PA etc etc), same promise of call at 5pm that evening, same 'glad to inform you you have passed the interview, same invite to 2nd interview where you will follow a manager around and get a "feel for the company". all rubbish
THIS IS A SCAM
LEAVE WELL ALONE
and all the posts in between that are calling people 'lazy' and slagging them off, this is obv just people employed by these scammers to combat informative threads such as these, probaly what the secretarys are paid to do whilst handing out the application forms to us dupes that come into the office...

- emccmindy replies to deleted post| 1 replysorry had to comment-are you friends with Sir Alan Sugar? because if you are im sure you aware of his views on this type of marketing- im sure you also aware of one of his candidate two years ago (whom i wont mention by name) who was named and shamed for this type of marketing- which by the way Sir Alan DID NOT approve of! the reason he sends his teams out for a day doing this is to test there SALES SKILLS not to train them up for management which is what your company claims to do, what a complete and utter joke, get your head out of your ass, and get a proper job!
- emccmindy replies to emccmindyhahahaha just read on down the page, so you are claiming your a personal friend of alan sugar, god your peoples lies are so see through its unbelievable, (JUST BECAUSE YOU WATCH HIM ON TV AND ARE HIS NUMBER ONE FAN DOES NOT MEAN YOU KNOW HIM PERSONALLY) personal friends yet you still find time to come on here defending these companys joke joke joke joke joke!
- AVADO ONYO URBIRDim suppose to have an interview with SRJ Marketing today and im kind of warey if they ask me to come back for second stage!
- AnonLooks like G Force Marketing changed its name to Frontline Events on the 1st October 2010.
You can have a look at this link to keep up to date with any name changes:
http://bizzy.info/uk/companies/g_force_marketing_limited/co_no/05057461/
Also, be aware that repeatedly typing a company name on this website may actually get it penalised for keyword spam by Google, which would move it down the search results, if not remove it completely. So it's probably not a good idea to spam the company names like that. - AnonA good way of spotting these dodgy companies is to look at their address. I've seen at least 3 that are operating from Dickinson House, Dickinson Street, Manchester (probably all the same dodgy company).

- CSo... I applied for this job (before I knew it was a scam, though I knew it was a bit dodgy-looking) - the company was called Junior Enterprise. Once I'd done research on it & they contacted me, I told them I wasn't interested.
Just now, I received an email from SMS Marketing saying "You applied to this job, We;ve been trying to contact you, left you voicemails" etc. etc. ..... But I never applied to this SMS place and never got any voicemails from them. But they have the same address & phone number as Junior Enterprise. In conclusion, they are the same company.
They must be desperate to be using another one of their names to try to recruit a person who has already told them to bugger off! How dumb do they think people are? I think I know which companies I've applied to!
I tried emailing back but I just got a 'postmaster delivery failure' email back!!! Typical!!!- Caller: SMS Marketing

- Adam Barlowarranged interview for 2.30pm tomorrow. Fair to say I shall not be attending.
I applied this morning (Wed 9th March 10.51am) and at 4.15pm I received a phonecall telling me to come to an interview but she also asked if I did apply for the job, which I initially thought was odd but I think I was overwhelmed by the fact I finally got offered a job.- Caller: Primus UK Ltd
- jessica| 1 replyfound Primus UK LTD on jobsite, they are also listed on other job websites so beware, advertised as being a "sales and marketing company" offering me £18,000-£20,000 a year based in Leicester full training would be given so i applied. next day received email to contact the to arrange email, phoned them up asked a little more about job as their company website and job description was brief, they didn't really say much i asked if i would be "cold calling" as i didn't want a job like that and all he said was all questions could be asked during interview and then hung up. I thought it was a bit strange so i looked it up on google and then found many sites just like this one about people applying going to interview finding out the pay is crap and that they are door to door sales people practically begging for money and that its all a scam!!!, everyone has had the same email and been told the same lies!. Its a SCAM and i am defiantly not wasting my time attending my interview tomorrow!! so grateful for these sites to warn people like myself before even going to their interviews. Its just a shame im reading hundreds of the same comments and complaints like mine on other primus review sites. All i can say to others is AVOID!!!!!!
