- Lucy| 1 replythey aren't even a verified company - you have to register as self - employed because they can't be [***] to give you a proper contract with a set wage - instead its 100% commission based. And for that 'privilege' you get to walk around dodgy areas of Manchester on your own in the rain for about 8 hours or so - but I never got home before half eleven because our 'leaders' decided that everyone should stay later to make more sales. Not only is the company dodgy (I start a new job on Monday and have to bring proof that I worked there because technically it doesnt exist) the people who you worked with had to be upbeat and positive all the time - which was the most forced thing I have ever seen and there was only one person that was genuine. it was a living hell and I strongly dissuade any poor sod to take the most rubbish job in the world. The rewards you get are that you will be poor, freezing and it will destroy any sense of confidence and job satisfaction you possess. You would be foolish to do it - seriously.

- paulHad a call today for an interview tomorrow, thought I check it all out on the internet. My wife said as soon as I told her it was a scam. then found this site. Saved me 120 mile round trip and a wasted day.
Thanks all - paulJust adding some more after reading "Employee perdm" What I have read so far, every ones self employed, if thats the case how can you be an employee you knob head.
- JeremieThank you Paul....AMEN!!! haha!
Also if 'Employee Perdm' was totally happy with thier job.... why were they googling the name of the company.... surely because they have doubts?
No one wants to work till 8.30pm at night in the cold weather - or maybe that person does. When I went on the '1st day of training' we went round 100 houses, and only 4 people 'signed up' (and got ripped off by a [***] company!).... so for walking round all day, in the cold, its really not worth the bother!
'Employee Perdm' - As for travelling, I think you will find that the well travelled and well educated people will not settle for a job like this. - EmmaI am so glad i read this, I had an email this morning and was going to reply and went to check the website and this came up...very glad i read it.
thanks
emma - Jimmy RiddleI don't know if this is connected but an office I was scheduled to go to wasn't even there and I was apparently left walking around for an hour or so with nowhere to hide my ever so red face.
I was aptly told I could go to another location but had to pay for a flight up North, I smelt a rat and declined their polite offer to lighten my wallet. They then offered a chauffeur driven car for half the price, what would you have done?- Caller: private
- scamspotterI'm poster #3 on this thread, from last February. It's gratifying to see these companies getting the exposure they deserve. It seems like since then the Manchester office may have moved from Newton St to Dickinson St, and some of the company names may have changed. Otherwise same old story. To help people with their Google searches, here is my current list of companies operating under the PerDM umbrella. Using Google's Forum or Blog search options helps to separate the useful comments from their endless job ad spam.

- Gary DavidI had the same scam just before christmas went for the interview at 5:30, with some south african or australian guy, who tells me all about the business and how they are going places and told that it is a 4 step process to get the job first was the interview i attended, second and observation day then another interview or summat then 4th the job, he said there was only so many jobs and they are narrowing it down to 25 of the best that day and that i would get a phone call at 6pm, low and behold at 6:30 i get a phone call from the cheesiest secretary who was at the desk as you walk in with the most annoying patronising voice you have ever heard, saying he really liked you Gary and would like to see you again tomorrow for the observation day, i was very dubious and was in two minds whether to go in for it or not, my gut instinct got the better of me and i never went for the observation day, i got one phone call 5 min after i should have been there and no contact after that, until today 6/1/2010, i applied for alot more jobs on the internet yesterday and apparently one of the ones i applied for was J L acquisitions asking me to contact them to arrange an interview at the same place 20 Dickinson House, Dickinson street, Manchester. they wont be hearing from me, i just think its very down heartening that the climate we are living in at the moment it is very difficult to get a job, theres nothing i want more at the moment than getting a job, you try and you try and you try, you get an email and you think your getting some where and its these idiots trying to con you again. i think something has to be done but the question is what?.

- dsj05| 1 replyGlad I found this site.
I had "interviews" with Primus and Bradford Ltd for Friday afternoon. G-Force offered me an interview about 3 seconds after I applied to their ad. They are all based on Dickinson Street, Manchester.- Caller: Primus
- AlanDear Mr. Scamspotter, is Mr Scamspotter your professional title? If so, it seems like quite an interesting role. How much do you get paid for it? Is it self employed and are you recruiting or is it a scam?

- tbThis site is a life saver!
I got a mail from Primus located on Dickinson Rd, Manchester. I visited them at their office and this time, at the interview, very tactfully the interviewer asked me what I knew about their company. As I had done no research (how I wish I had) it was very easy to fool me into believeing they had tie-up with Debenhams, Vodafone etc.
Well, I got the call that I had been shortlisted at 6.10 in the eve, and have been called tomo and been specifically asked " to dress well as we may have to go out". Although I had mentioned to them that I am not interested in door-to-door, they would have pushed me into B2B where I might have to be scurrying around all shops ripping off my own pocket for travel and refreshment.
Thanks to all u guys who have warned before, and especially the one which lists the different names with which the company operates these days.
Just as an update, their office does not look too shabby anymore,so that might just push u into believing they are not scam.
Nice try though, changing names and address and phone numbers etc.- Caller: Primus Marketing UK

- Tom Ridsdill| 1 replyI had an interview with this lot recently. Went along to the "observation day" where I assumed I would be watching these people attend meetings and generally do legitimate marketing and advertising tasks. At no point was I told that the job consisted of door to door sales. Anyway after about an hour of running around Rochdale going door to door they sat me down in a pub. The girl who I was supposed to be "observing" told me that my "attitudes stinks" and that I was showing little interest in the role, for obvious reasons in my opinion. Nevertheless she said that I could go forward to speak to a manager if I wished, I said no thanks and terminated the "interview". She then told me that she would not finish work until 8:30 so I could follow her around for the next four hours and then she would take me back into Manchester or I could make my own way back using public transport. After getting numerous bus services and trains I got back into Manchester around 7 o'clock. The whole thing is a complete waste of time and money, it is not a legitimate career and the people that are involved with this company have serious morality issues. The one person that they successfully got to sign up to their direct debit scheme had little idea of what he was signing up for and at no point was asked whether he wished to sign up, a piece of paper was shoved in front of him, his detailed were filled in for him and then he was asked to sign it. As far as I could tell these people seem to target low income areas, the elderly and the bewildered. The owner of one house was in a wheel chair, he could not answer the door so the girl I was "observing" proceeded to let herself in, absolutely scandalous. How these companies are still allowed to run is beyond me, what seems more bizarre is that people are still willing to start working for them. Even if these people do see this as a realistic, prosperous career choice, which I very much doubt it is, they are still essentially being paid for bothering people and depriving them of their earnings. Why anyone would choose to do this as a "career" is bewildering.
- asdfJust saw a position advertised from G Force Marketing on the Jobcentre Plus website, thought it looked a bit shady so I googled it and it brought me here. Thanks for all the posts here, I would hate to have been suckered in by these lowlifes.
- MI also have had the same experience with regards receiving an email and phone call explaining I had got an interview. It was booked for tomorrow, suffice to say after reading all the comments,I won't be attending.
- At least it's better pay than cobra| 5 repliesIt's a business with a huge turnover of sales people, the cobra group operate in a similar way, but pay you even less per sign up. It does teach you important people and life skills, which you realise once you are out of it. I agree the job advertising is mis-leading as is the "interview" process. However I wouldn't go as far as saying it's a scam. Basically it is door to door sales. There is no basic salary for 2 main reasons: 1) no risk to the company, they can keep recruiting as many people as they can get. 2) the motivation is there for you to perform. Managers do start off on the bottom rung of the ladder and work ridiculously hard to maintain staffing levels and sales performance, so can understand them getting a cut of the commission. Saying it's not a "proper job" is just ignorant pig-headedness. It is a very very hard slog. Door-to-door may not be for you, it's not for everyone, that doesn't mean it's not for anyone, or a scam.
P.S
4 sales out of 100 doors not worth it? At £22 a sale, that would be £88 p/day, £440 p/week, £22000 p/year (including 2 weeks off over Xmas and new year), compare that to being on the dole and say it's not worth it.
I just want to make sure it's clear, I'm not saying it's a great company, or that everyone here is wrong for not going to interviews, but it's not a scam as such either. - DarylApplied for this job about a week ago, attended interview yesterday, was told that the company was the fastest growing marketing company in the country and that in a normal company progression is slow and that it would usually take 6-8 years to progress to project manager, with this company it would be 9 months!
Wow, i thought, but i messed up the interview, for the first time ever i was bewildered in the interview and i thought i had messed it up, was told if i was successful they would call me between 3pm and 5pm same day. At 4:56 the receptionist called me and said i had been successful, told my partner and she got really excited (In the interview i had not been told anything i have read up on here, and there are alot of people who have alot to say on here) Was told that i had to go to there and i will be there between 12:15 and 8:00, was not told much about what i'd be doing, but i am sorry, door to door pressure sales is not for me, you hear about it all the time, i don't want to do that to other people. Vulnerable people.
I have two hours to get to Nottingham to start this, but i am not going, i am yet to tell my partner, thanks to everybody for giving me an insight into this "Company".
By the way, they said that there were 20 people being interviewed and they wanted to call back 8 people, my interview was hurrendous, i just felt uneasy, at the time the job sounded too good to be true, and it was.
With everything that seems too good to be true i type in what it is, in this case Primus Uk LTD, into Google, followed by the word "Scam" thanks alot general public.- Caller: Primus
- TheyknowmeHi everyone thank you for bringing this issue up on the website I was about to apply for a job with castle road marketing ltd in Newcastle but I smelled a rat when under earnings on fish4 it said OTE I had to look up the definition because I don't read letters I prefer words. I looked it up by searching for casle road marketing scam and this site came right up. I've reported it to fish4 and hope something good happens to shut them down because I really need a job and this kind of thing is not helping.
