That website looks rubbish, although I gave it a go anyway.....

This is a quote from the website -

    'SRM Marketing Ltd training:

During the first six to ten months, you will actively participate in everything from sales& marketing, customer service and public relations, to campaign management, HR and Finance.'

That is a spruced up way of saying you will be carrying out door to door sales, all day, every day....

    ENJOY!!!!!

You cannot write, you sound as if you have no education. If you are the level of clientele they are happy to employ I'll look elsewhere. You have to face up to the fact you are ripping people off, call it an American sales technique if you like but you personally are making a lot of people unhappy.

In a nutshell - if you take a job on with this people (trust me i know, i did it), you will work 11 hours a day, no basic, 100% commision, get tricked into doing it claiming that you will be earning £300 a week at first and not telling you that its commission only until you ask (they fail to tell you that you only earn that if you meet the targets they have.), you will working your a**e off to give a wage to the managers in the office doing nothing who only get paid if YOU get customers to sign up, these managers will give you pure s*** if you earn nothing all day (which is easily possible) because you havent earned them any money, and BIGGEST of all, you will be conning charities like RSPCA, Red Cross, Action for Children out of money - this is because you get a customer to sign up for direct debit @ £8 per month and for doing this the charity will pay out approxaimtely £50 or so, this means you get about £20 for doing the work and your manager gets the other £30 for sitting in his office doing nothing because the charity has asked your manager (and his company) to represent them and to go door to door to find them new clients. If any single part of that sounds appealing then you may well love the job otherwise stay clear people because its better being unemployed because at least you get JSA.

Nice messahe Employee PerDM - i might be wrong but i think Per DM is the company that actually processes the applications (and payments etc).

You pretty much sound like the very same brainwashed managers down at Aspire Aquisitions in London - these guys high five each other and have stupid phrases they shout out in the office (like Juice - Join Us In Creating Exitement) - thinking back its hilarious in a sad sort of way.

These utility companies are paying SRM Marketing etc to get new customers for example - i was getting people to sign to the RSPCA (i thought great - i love that charity) - but what your failing to inform people on here is that when i sign someone up for "just £8 per month" to the RSPCA, the RSPCA will then payout about £50 or so as a thank you the company i was working for - meaning i get £20 and my manager (that would be you sitting on your a*** keeping your brains warm in your office) gets the other £20/£30 or whatever it is.............................so the customer i signed up pays £8 that month and the RSPCA have shelled out 50 odd pounds, im no mathemetician but if that client chooses to cancel then that means the RSPCA are now £42 down or so - this happens with several thousand customers (who were probably pressured into it anyway) and there you have a highly unethical business model that has little to do with morals and having a conscience and more to do with greedy fatcats who want to take a t quick route to success at the expense of something or someone else.

And just so you know, since i quit this job i have got a job else where, i worked hard, paid my dues and am currently now a manager still working my way up in a company that has benefits to its customers.

Mr employee PerDM you are probably earning more than me and may well have a nicer car..............and well done if you do. I look forward to a reply : - )

I have had the exact same thing happen to me, wish I had looked at this my boyfriend was right it was a scam and I should have listened to him.
I too went along to the observation day, and was given silly little tasks to do including the 5 steps etc and the law of averages, what a load of crap.
That day was a huge waste of my time, I could have been revising for my finals.

This company is operating in an unethical manner, I don't have a problem with direct marketing but why the cloak and dagger approach to recruitment?
The company is operating a barely legal pyramid type scheme; that is your sales commisiion is paid up the chain with your two line managers benifiting from your work. Again I don't have a problem as such with the upchain payment principle but only if all parties are aware of it from the outset of any agreement. The problem that I see with this company is that they are not upfront regarding the " positions" on offer and do seem to waste a lot of peoples time (and money). The reason behind the day two's  exercise is to circum-navigate a statute employment law regarding direct sales contracts.
None of the organisations you mentioned appear to have filed accounts which appears a little strange for an organisation that claims to have a five to ten year operating history.
If I can give a word of advice, put to one side as much as you can from whatever you earn (not forgetting to make contributions to HMRC etc) as this job will be temporary.

Thanks for this info, their website is very vague and hard to find any information on there thats revelant. I have been called for an interview monday, i will NOT be going, save my time and money. Door to door sales is not what i am looking to do, and the advert should be clear!!!!
  • 0
Dood to Door sales ins't everyones cup of tea, and yes its hard i guess. I don't want to work as self employeed with no basic money, no pension and other benefits. It should be made clear on the adverts and on their website, I will not be going to the interview, i want a career that will last, and work in an office, not on the street.

Has anyone contacted Companies House, Completed a Directors check, OFSTED, trading standards o Reed who appear to endorse their adverts. Telecoms companies and all the companies who they say they market for?

Please let me know as my son has been duped as many others. Some out there arent lucky enough to have a job to start with so at their expense, and those in work the additional expense of a days leave etc Pay to work for a day trapsing the streets.

This is about people NOT being greedy but wanting to work, wanting to advance in their careers honestly and not naive and about a compnay full of crooks exploiting people. The only A grade listing they get is for Scamming!

The more people willing to come forward will strenghen a case against these companies operating the way they do.

    Thanks for reading

Venus Marketing is a young company that is very successful in what it does. When you get a job there you start at the basis and work your way up like any company. Also like any company you mostly do training to understand the type of work you will be doing and to be able to correctly do it. This job, as you start off doing face to face marketing, involves you having to do a lot of hard work to start with and to be outgoing and confident in order to achieve positive results. If you put in the hard work then you will progress into doing better paid work there and you move up in the company to higher positions. If you are not qualified or have no experience then you will obviously, no matter where you go, start off at the bottom, and this gives people with no experience and no qualifications a chance to move on up, and it does it faster than any other company. If you are a lazy person, which you all probably are because your saying its a scam when it is clearly not, then you will not succeed. You cant have money handed to you for nothing, you have to work for what you earn, so dont just call it a scam and bring its rep down just because your too lazy to work hard and your too incompetent to get anywhere and progress. Everything requires hard work in order to gain positive results and sometimes your results wont be positive but with perseverance you can achieve things. Just get off your [***] and do something you lazy boring people.

    Well said Carrie..........or not!!!

Firstly, i am a qualified mortgage advisor (that means i worked my way up, to get there), which unfotunately was cut short due to the credit crunch. Then i saw one of these adverts for these job and was intrigued and thought i would take a different direction because property was not where the money was.

And even after working at these places and having now worked my way up with a different company and current team manager makes everything you said null and void!!!

I worked for one of these companies and these companies are not honest (never is door to door EVER mentioned) and some are just unethical (they are making money from charities - no queries there - these companies are earning money at the expense of charities - (RSPCA, Red Cross etc). Utility companies i can understand but charities??

And most of all...............the managers (who have admittedly worked there way up yes) are just sat in their offices getting the people below them to earn them money......yeah must be tough doing that - think up a couple of stupid , think of a few motivational speeches and earn yourself an easy wage. The ONLY thing they emphasize is OWNING YOUR OWN COMPANY, EVENTUALLY EARNING 3K A WEEK - they never tell you its commission only, they never tell you the hours you have to work, they never tell you certain things because if they did they know people wouldnt be interested - its costs the managers and "leaders" sweet FA to hire someone and because of that their conscience goes out the window because they dont care if its Tom, dick or harry who's earning them money.

They are taking advantage of the credit crunch - i have been to "level 2", i have been a leader, iv thought of [***] stories to motivate my team, iv done the whole stuff on theories - i know how it works - i was doing well but i just wasnt sucked in, i was doing what i had to KEEP my job - i was on good money but their whole model is [***]...............and THAT is why they tell new recruits as little as posible when they start.

I been there, iv done it, been leader, had a team, taugh this, taught that, run meetings, had the right "attitude", been successful at it and fair enough it may not be a "scam", its certainly not an honest way to run a "business".

I was employed with Aspire Aquisitions in London, Old Street, just so you know. Managers include Duncan Sharp, Olu, Adam, so you know i aint chatting lies.

Look forward to your reply : - )

Got a call from a different number it turned out to be some marketing company... how they got my number I don't know probably because I applied to numerous places through reed.co.uk, anyways they said they would phone back and took my name and number. I was then called up by some guy telling me that of the so '300 apllicants' that i have been selected for a preliminary interview because they were so impressed with my resume. When I got to the interview at (3.15pm on 26/04/10) located near Tower bridge I was amazed to see a unorganised office which seemed like a temporary office eg. reception, and office in one room. My interview lasted 3mins precisely of which I shared with another guy who was also being interviewed with me, and most of these guys were foreigners/youngsters with bad English. The guy who interviewed me said I should stay by my phone at around 5pm to know the outcome... guess what I get a call saying that I had got in, and needed to attend a second interview (on 27/04/10) of which I spend a whole day with them.
Its 11.12am of the 27/04/10 I googled the company for research and a suggestion came up 'ea worldwide aquisitions SCAM' so I clicked it and was astonished to what I had discovered I am so now I'm typing to let you guys know that these guys are a SCAM stay away. Carrie you are so full of [***]. I bet you are them trying to hide your SCAM. I have a degree in Forensic Science and IT, and yet that seemed to have no weight what so ever, and thats with taking my 3 years of sales experience into account. So starting off at the bottom because your not qualified is clear lie as in you take in my situation. STAY AWAY. This is modern slavery. Carie its not about being lazy I spent 3 hours investigating this [***] and phoned numerous people, so STFU.

onceandnotagain you got the idea, but these companies tell you that their clients are SKY/TALK TALK/ RED CROSS etc. That may be true, but apparentlly they make you sell dodgy products, and people have been in prison for this. RESEARCH.

These companies are bad news stay away. The old saying goes: 'if it's too good to be true, then it probably is'

Got the same thing for an initial interview, very vague and sounded as if she was reading a script.  Since I thought it quite strange decided to give it a google and found out about this door to door bit.
Interesting that door to door has become "direct customer acquisition"
I'd much rather do real retail....

Just had an initial job interview with them but I wish I had read this first. I came away very suspicous about it all. Considering it was supposed to be a job interview I was asked nothing and instead the very young guy just used the time to sing the praises of the company. Like some people have said they tell you which big companies they deal with (which are doubtful) and how quickly you can become a manager. It all sounded very impressive but the speed at which he was talking and the lack of chances I had to say or ask anything had me concerned.

Even knowing very little about me or my abilities he wanted me to come for the 8 hour "observation day" the very next day. I'm currently finishing University so I can't take a whole day out at the moment. Even more surprising is he was asking if I wanted to work part time before I had finished my exams. This was all very suspicous considering the advertisement for the job made it sound like a serious graduate opportunity yet he didn't even ask the most basic of job interview style questions.

Anyway, I wish I had Googled them first so I could have either cancelled the initial interview or confronted them about the job more. I'm not going to criticise them too much because a job is a job and some people might be glad to have something commission based like this at the moment. However it most certainly is not what I want to be doing after spending 4 years at University.

For the record the details of this particular arm of the company is:

    JMS Marketing Ltd

The Cotton Exchange,Third Floor, Suite 314

    Bixteth Street

    Liverpool

    L3 9LQ

The office dosen't look too terrible as other people have experienced but it is by no means what you would expect of a company as large and important as they make themselves out to be.
