Have been receiving phone calls from this number for the past couple of weeks. Have not answered as seen these reports, however called back to have my number removed which an automated machine confirmed. Am still receiving phone calls, this is driving me to distraction!!

Also have been receiving calls over the last moth or so, and every time I answer, the line goes dead.
I have called them and pressed option 9, and entered my number to the removals list.
I will post again here if I receive further calls.

after the 70th call from them with a word someone ans and when i ask them to remove my number cos you have called me 70 times over the last 3 weeks !!! he started laughing ha ha ha i asked them again then he asked if id like a quote for insurance <<<yer rite lol i dont think it will be the last time they call but thanks for address and number i will help them upgrade there cons by sending them the ones i get !!!!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Action Claims using the 0161 number about a file that was still open on a claim my husband had.  We haven't had a claim in over two years - they wanted my husband's date of birth and full name.  I told them nothing!  As far as i am concerned we have no outstanding issues and after seeing the other comments on this site i am rather concerned what this company is up to!

I had a call today from 01612 494496 from a guy who said he was from Action Claim. I looked at their website and they have a national number so not sure if this is true. If he was from Action Claim they have a link on their website to Ministry of Justice, but I am reluctant to report them as there seems to be no particular evidence that it is that company

so anoying ringing me on land line and now on mobil hangs up when iv answerd

I've had numerous calls from this number.  The one time I answered, there was no one on the other end.  I googled the number as I didn't recognise it and saw everyone else's comments.  Since this, I don't bother answering at all, but they still carry on phoning me.  I'm not sure what it achieves apart from to annoy me.  I had an accident last April (not my fault) so that's obviously where they get our numbers from which makes me cross because I hope my insurance company haven't been distributing my number.  I have my phone to make calls when I want to, not to receive nuisance calls from unknown people/companies.

im only 19 and they have been calling me now for weeks- i havnt answered any of there calls but from what im getting its cos of claims etc or some sort of rubbish! Ive never had a claim or accident etc!!! so where have they got my number from!!  

I agree with everyone it is very annoying and i wish they would just go awayyy!

These people are the reason we pay higher insurance premiums. They try to coerce people into making injury claims, the cost of which insurers just pass on to us. And I don't believe that insurers pass the details onto them for one minute despite what Chameleon Telesales would try to have us believe. If they are a reputable company why are they silent when you answer??? Very odd behaviour.

Emailing them DOES NOT work. I have just had another call. This time they spoke and said they were from Bike Devil!!! Surely this is harrassment??

I have been getting these calls aswell. Calling me whilst I am at work.

just to clarify some things.

1. They are a cold calling company because they use an automated caller that will call 5 people at the same time, the one who answers first will get put through, the rest will get a 'cold call' as you will not here anything.

2. Insurance companies will ask some 3rd party companies to use their name, but this will only be for cases like a building repair management company who is dealing with the claim on the insurance providers behalf. Insurance companies will ask for this as to not cause confusion when dealing with the claim. However, it should not be used and is bad practice when dealing with advertising or 'product solutions' as our friend at chameleon-finance.co.uk. has said.

3. Using a 'comparison website' is a bad idea. These companies make there money from selling your details. if you use a Comparison website, be prepared for some phone calls. In general, most companies have been known to sell client details. T-mobile is one such company.

4. chameleon-finance.co.uk. are a pain in the [***]! they only have a 'Holding Page' website.

in summary, cold calls will happen, but you must ignore them and never enter into discussion with them. If a company calls you, they will generally ask some security questions, it is your right to ask them some security questions too.
