just received a call, 7/11/07, at 12.45, asked for home owner then when i said i wasnt the bloke hung up. he was english. tried to ring back, number not recognised. did a web search and came up with this:
"Tameside Insulation Ltd (Registered in England No. 4884766 Registered Office: Unit 17 Alpha Court, Windmill Lane Ind Estate, Denton, Manchester. M34 3RB, Telephone: 0161 337 3400)."
Did a search for them and came up with an 0800 number: 0800 093 0998

How do you report them?

Returned from work to find this number when I dialled 1471. They have just phoned again and asked for me by name and started telling me about gov grant for loft insulation etc, have I claimed blah blah blah. I asked them where they got my number from and she said they work with the utility companies and so get the number from them! I mentioned the TPS and she said they are not covered by the TPS but was quick to ring off! Hope they don't ring again, blooming nuisances!!!!

just recieved this number called twice today.. they knew my surname and ask to speak to Mr.xxxxxx, then when i ask which Mr.xxxxxx, he said the homeowner! then just hang up, first call was a woman, then its a guy!! both with very noisy background... werido

I had a "missed call" on my phone from this number timed at 11.08. Tried to ring back but got recorded msg saying "the number you have dialled has not been recognised". I will not waste time reporting to TPS as they never seem to be able to do anything.

Exactly the same as above, a number of calls today, mostly just hanging up but the last call a few minutes ago as for a Mr ????? and then hung up.  Dodgy indeed.

That number called..... I answered, they took more than 2 seconds to reply to my "hello" so I hung up. Simple!

They hung up on me  as soon as I started to speak.

It sounds like they are using an automatic dialer?

This number has started calling my phone 2 to 3 times a day, i have not answered as i think it is best left alone, would advise other peeple to do the same.

Caller rang and asked to speak to Mrs xxxxx (my partners surname).  As my surname is different I said no, who is calling please?  Then I heard the man say "oh great" and they hung up.  The accent sounded northern (possibly a Manchester accent) although when I answered the call there was a long delay which suggested to me that it was a call centre abroad or something

Got a call tonight at 6.30 and they hung up.

This number keeps calling 3 or 4 times a day and this has been going on for weeks. Have never answered the call. Any way to stop it? My number is registered with TPS.

Just got call with man sounding rushed but plausible, asked for mr or mrs and then our full name.  I asked who was calling, he just asked if I was Mrs H, I again asked who was calling and he rang off.

I rangback but got line that said no such number!!

I will also be calling TPS.

More of the same as already being reported to this page.  Refused to say who they were and hung up.  They block incomming call on 01613373440 so you can;t easily find out who the registered caller is.  BT told me it is part of an auto-dialer group of up to 100 numbers so I substituted the 3440 with 3400 and (bingo) got Thameside Insulation.  Reported them to the Telephone Preference Service, OptOutUK and Call Prevention Registry.  Am now thinking of also using Silent Call Guard.

4/12.07 missed a call from this number, tried to call back but the number wasnt reconised

01613373440 called this afternoon and rang off immediately.

Found this reference on Google and am reporting it accordingly.

Any advice would be appreciated.
