I have been documenting calls from this number since they started 14 months ago.  As with other callers, they hang up when I answer (a real pain when you are a shift worker and are constantly woken up).  Why can't the authorities do something about these calls?

Call made by a lady with a Scottish accent. Asked if I new the name of person in the house 2 doors away. Second call 5 minutes later. Gentleman also with a Scottish accent who then put the phone down. Complained to BT who advised that this was a business number for outbound calls only.

Had 3 calls from this number over the last two days. Redial the number and there is no record of the number. I hate this kind of thing. I feel they just calling to see if anyone home!!!

Missed a call from this number yesterday tried to call back but same as above. Got in from work today to find a message waiting from this number,great I thought I'll find out who it is and what they want but when I listened to it it was just some weirdo sighing then tutting!  Am definately going to report them, might ring above number and tut to them!!

Tried to ring them on the 0161 number ending in 00 and also on the 0800 number on their website. Nothing, they obviously don't want incoming calls. They just tried to bluff my 70+ year old parents into getting someone to come round to look at insulation saying they'd get it free. Checked their website and they were obviously trying to pull a fast one as they don't even qualify. They are scum and should be closed down

Again, this website comes up trumps! I googled the 0800 number to see if it was a scam as my 82-year-old grandad had a visit from a bloke from Tameside Insulation and has been told it's free, and how his house really needs the cavity wall insulation, but my first thought was "Does it? Your house seems perfectly warm to me."

The guy also told him that the only way he'd be able to get this free offer is if he signed that day. That rang alarm bells immediately - since surely if they have an "Over 70s get it free" policy then what difference would signing on the day make? As well as that, the fact that all the paperwork claim that it's free for him, so I ask - who pays the £700+ cost?

It has Npower's name all over it, yet the T&Cs on the paperwork indicate they don't vouch for the contractors or the quality of the work, so they could do a shoddy job and you'll have no recompense from them.

They claim to be coming mid-Feb to see him. I will be contacting Watchdog in the meantime as they love taking on stories where pensioners are targeted and even if they insist on coming on that day, I'll happily take the day off to stand at the front door and call the police if they try to enter or start any work.

They phone, it does connect to a call centre operater who speaks before cutting the call off.

It is Tameside Insulation calling. The utility response is a lie, my provider does not pass information to anyone. Insulation may be part of their business, I am inclined to believe their main purpose is phishing for debt collecting companys.

I've been called by this number several times this week whilst out. When I rung it back I got the message 'The number you have dialled has not been recognised'

picked up on 3rd ring, said hello, got a hi. then went dead. Dead number too.

They keep ringing me,I get 2-3 calls a day from different marketing companies even though I'm registered with TPS, TPS are useless they do nothing to stop this nuisance. If someone actually speaks at the other end the best remedy is to scream a torrent of expletives until they put the phone down, they tend not to ring again!.

Have just received a missed call from this number on my home phone and have dialled it straight back!  It says number not recognised??????

Had Two calls from them today....I have now called the police and they are monertring my numbersand calls....Great had enother of these idiots.They said they already know that i have had calls.....Just what we need.

A guy asked for someone (wasn't my name). I started saying "Oh hello ..." and like others, hanged up. Busy background -- I though maybe call center??

0161 3373440 - This IS Tameside Insulation. I called them and said that I wanted a free survey as I had previously spoke to them yesterday (which I didn't, just had a missed call from the number)on the 3440 number, but it cut out and I could not call back the number as it was dead. They said that the number was their FAX number and you could not call on it!
DO NOT entertain these guys. Just say that you are registered on the TPS (you are arn't you?) and you will be contacting both Watchdog and Your solicitor about a civil suit. They will not call back!
