These companies generally get your details from 3rd party sources, ie. If you have poor or bad credit and have applied for a car loan with Welcome or Advantage. Alternatively if you have just been issued pre court summons or similar. All these details are in the public domain and are not data protected. They ae generally brokers who 'rabble on at an amazing speed' offering you a loan at what you think is a great APR, very comparable to high street rates.

They then will quickly ask for your personal details such as address, age, job and bank details to pay money into. All very plausible so far.  Then they say you have been accepted and this is the payments and time or the loan. All too easy ummmm?   Yep now the catch. they say the money will be in your account in 24 tp 48 hrs....!  Your already speanding the money arent you! lol.

They then ask for the long number across your card and the 3 digit secure code on the back. When you question why they say this is for the intro fee of £49.50 for example.   They take your money and you may never hear from them again! Great con eh!

just did a simple search online for a loan, ticked the box to say that you don't want your personal info passed onto others so you wont be pestered by these calls every minute of the day - that didn't seem to work! only did the search like 5 minutes ago and the phone rang. its unfair that you can't even do an innocent enquiry without someone bugging you!

    Yup,
these idiots keep phoning me as well. If you ask them to delete your number, under the data protection act they are obliged to remove your number. However, I have requested this, and lo and behold, the calls keep on coming through. As I work for the compliance department of a bank, I am looking into this and will keep you posted.

I also was looking for a loan and eventually decided to apply to Barclays online with whom I bank.  Not long after I got a tex from Best4Loans asking me to contact them.  I also received a number of callfrom this number but they kept asking for Andrew ***** which is not my name, so I refused to talk to them.  When I called Barclays Onine they said that Best4Loans was someone that they worked with, but thay also promised to follow up on my complaint.
