Looks like this is moorcroft actually said MDR, checked them out on companies house and it shows MDR as gone bust? good ammunition if they ring you.

Someone called me looking for someone who does not live at this address

Moorcroft chasing a non-debt, got bank statements to prove payment but they didn't beleive. They had the wrong dates for the debt aswell. Think they are just phishing, trying to intimidate people into paying.

Have had messages left from this number saying to call them... no other details

It's definitely Moorcroft, who hvae a bad reputation for their business tactics.  Have nothing to do with them.
Their website gives their location as 2 Spring Gardens, Stockport, SK1 4AA

There are several references to them if you google that number.

Was told to call this number regarding an "Emergency". How dodgy is that? If my wife had received a call like that she would be very worried out of concern for someones safety. Was message said from MDR.

Rang last night in the eavening and when i answerd, no one was on the other end.

rang tonight saying that it was mdr when i rang the number they left it kept on telling me to ring the number on the letter sent what letter never got one. when we did get in touch with them they were rather rude and hung up the first time on us. rang again and yet again spoking to rather rude again.  told them i had sent a letter saying that we wanted proof they we owed the money to which we never got a reply.

Keep getting calls from them to my company phone number.

Just get stroppy messages saying-

Nothing more, nothing less. I've tried calling several times but get no answer or someone asking me to call a different number. They're starting to get on my wick.

I,ve had 2 calls to the office Number saying call them, but i only get a message saying call the number on the letter, of which i've never recieved, i guess looking at the comments everydoby else has said then i looks like a scam, lets not let them get away with it!!

Left name and said they are calling from MDR.

When I pointed out that the person they were looking for was out of the country for the last couple of years they asked if I can pass on the message she said 'tell him its Moorcroft, he'll understand. I can't go into any more because of the data protection act'

I've just received a call too, the debt is tiny ~£10 and from a broadband contract from over 4 years ago it would seem? It was all a little worrying so I told them to post something to me at work as I'm not happy making a card payment over the phone, and I most certainly won't give out my home address either. Interesting that he had my mobile number though.

That said, the chap was fairly pleasant at least. I'm meeting my financial advisor tomorrow so if I hear anything juicy I'll post it here!

tried calling MDR and no answer.keep getting bloody phone calls how annoying, what is there problem. And why are they so rude.i think they call for the fun im sure.

Just had a call from these people (Moorcroft) myself about 1.5 hrs ago.
They knew my name and mobile number obviously, and said I had an outstanding debt from 2006 for £53 on a broadband contract. I told them to post something to me as evidence.
Definately seems dodgy to me - especially having read everything else here! Will keep everyone posted on this.

Received a call from Moorcroft too about 3 hours ago. Also relating to a broadband contract from 4 years ago. First i ever heard of it. Very dodgy.

In update to my earlier post, I received another call attempt from Moorcroft. Last time I spoke to them I told them to post me some evidence that I owed them anything. They haven't sent me anything therefore I refuse to even answer their calls until I see something. Autonomy clearly isn't their strong point!
They left me a voicemail asking me to call them back, but they're going to be waiting in vain!

WE have received a few phone calls from them stating we owe over £200 to a mobile phone company.The mobile company doesnt know anything about it!!Moorcroft tried to get my husband to make a payment over the phone but he refused telling them to send a statement detailing what we owed.When they phoned again my husband asked about the letter they say it was sent 2-4-08 but as yet no letter.

I would urge people not to make payments to this company over the phone.

this stinks of a scam to me

I had calls from these people before. My advice is deal with the company direct yhat you might owe money too and sort out an arrangement with them.

They are a bunch of bullies.

I;ve had dealings with Moorcroft in the past unfortunately to debts i know i owe, which i have been paying.Strange though they called me at my home number on sunday, since my ex had run up sevral debts for me to pay off i hadn't given my new number to any company cos i just want a quite life, funny how they new my name and number though, where did they get it from?
