Recieved a letter regarding a personal matter - I gave them a call, must say the girl was quite plesent - it was regarding a contract with ee which was actually up and had all been paid for when I explained the contract was over and I have the confirmed in writing - she then said I
Owed a £8 administration charge I asked her I could pay this through ee directly she said I could but had to within 14 days. Called ee straight away no charges on the account, and has re sent a letter to confirm the contract has been paid in full and that I owe nothing. - be careful I know it's only £8 but once they had my bank details who knows what they would have taken.

I keep getting calls from this number asking if I am another person. As instructed, I press 2 to say I am not, but the calls keep coming at 2 or 3 a day. This has to stop!!!

this company are debt recovery, they say you owe them money thats why they cannot talk to you, its personel, then stop phone my no then, I said.

Left a message on my ansafone saying it was MDR and asking me to call them.  It's Moorcroft Debt Recovery and I know that they have purchased a very old debt (from about 10/11 years ago).

The debt will have been written off by the original company costing them nothing as it just comes off their profit meaning they pay less tax.  Then these (and other like-minded blood suckers) buy the debt for a tiny fraction of it's original worth.   They then 'terrorise' people by bombarding them with phone calls and nasty threatening letters trying to get them to pay up the original amount. If they succeed, they get a VERY nice profit on their purchase for very little outlay.

The letters become more threatening and when they don't work and they hear nothing from you, they change tack and try offering you 'substantial discounts' starting at 20%, going up to eventually 50% or more.  As I said, they only pay a pittance of the original value of the debt so even by offering 50% off (providing you make the remaining 50% payment in full) they are still making a lot of money.

My thoughts? ............ if you want to do a deal with them fine, but if you, like me (having been made redundant 4 times in 8 years) cannot afford to pay anything, then let them take me to court.  I will deny all knowledge of the debt until they can provide FULL information of the original debt and creditor (which a lot of the time, these leeches cannot provide, particularly on very old debts) otherwise in the meantime,  this phone number is just another one to add to my blocked list!

Many of those who work as Debt Collectors are not polite because they are not Boy Scouts and/or Girl Guides.  They are mainly a downtrodden lot, and their ranks include ex-convicts, drug addicts, 20-somethings without high-school diplomas and a variety of other hard-luck cases.
Oh, my God, they are like thugs.  However, the more clean-cut types simply can’t get the job done.  So don't expect that debt collector, who is calling you, to be nice!!!

I gpt a call just now .  Is it a debt collecting agency and is it genuine.  Also is it working with Halifax bank?  Please if any one has any idea, do advise.

these are a joke constantley ringing and mithering even tho theres no debt they are very dodgy and I think the firm should be shut down

i have debt whom moor croct bought and i recieved a letter from ideal debt solutions who sent me statements every month stating thankyou for your payment to your debtors.  they now have passed it on to someone else of which i recieved a call from on my mobile but i told them i couldnt discuss my debt change over at that moment  now i cant get hold of anyone to sort it out  as my husband doesant know i have the debt some of it is almost payed

I had a call early this morning (sunday)very rude woman who also told me to F Off just before I blocked the number .. I bought a call blocker off ebay any nuisance phone calls press the button and they don't harass you again .. it won't block ex directory numbers tho .. worth buying

Moorcroft phone regularly and leave voicemails to my tps registered phone - they say they are looking for LISA PULLEN who is not know to me nor has ever lived at this address or had the phone number. I know it must be a scam but how to stop them.

Asking for someone not me

This company (moorcroft)keeping calling my home number late evening about 8pm asking for someone that doesn't live at my address,they say they'll remove my number from the data base but they still keep calling.

Refused to inform me who they were, refused to give information and were very rude
