I had a missed call from this number about 10 minutes ago!  I have never heard of moorcroft!  Does anyone have more recent information?

rang me asking to speak to my mother,said they have got my mobile number from her,even though she cant speak english?they said it is private and cant talk to me about it and could only speak to my mother

I just had another call from them, the dappy bint didnt put the phone down afterwards and i have a good ten mins of listening her talk to some chap about her new blackberry and she cant get it to work!

my wife answered the phone they said who is this please , my wife said who is this they said you need to tell us who you are , my wife said no, they said we are calling because someone from our number called them about a part time job and they demanded she tell them who she was , my wife replied i didnt call about any job you should be telling me who you are and ive had enough of this to which the reply was ok thankyou goodbye

ok never heard of these before but i had a very similar phone call altho the chap was not rude he kinda knew information on me like from 2 yrs ago had an old address but seemed to have my new number considerin only family has it and its a pay and go and not registered... plus im like 17 so how can they say i owe them a debt i dont know i just told him im 17 years old and dont know who he was lookin for but wasnt giving my name or address out

Got call from this number was given name of company as MDR and told me his name
Was call for Step Son not at this address not sure who they are or what they want from him or how they have this number

just got a call from this number...this company is clearly a scam...trying to trick you into paying them for a fictional bill....they did have some of my details which is worrying! im going to make sure i keep an eye on my bank account just in case!

The guy who called ended up saying he had lost the account deatils when i questioned him, he then put me on hold...and then the call went dead..

weird!

im only paying 2 bills off and i know which companys they are with!
this company is a scam TELL THEM NOTHING!

Got a call at 20:45 saying they are from MDR and asked for my wife by her first name. When I asked for more details they refused saying she would know whats it about. I asked what the company is about but refused to give any more details saying it was against the Data Protection Act.
We have BT Chose to Refuse and their number is now barred!!!

Unfortunately this isnt a scam.  I failed to pay 3 months payments to my NEXT cataloge, had a letter off Next saying pay up or your account will be passed to a DCA.  Moorcroft ARE dcas.  Had a letter followed by numberous phonecalls from these persistant [***] re the Next account, but have been advised to write a letter to Moorcroft (NEVER EVER speak to them on phone)  stating that you DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE this debt (although you do) until they can get a copy of the CCA from NEXT proving it!!  I had my account 15 years so it is unlikely that NEXT has it, it buys me a bit of time until I can save and send cheque to NEXT.  Moorcroft I have been told will bully you terrible into making a payment plan with them of monthly amounts you might find hard to keep up PLUS they add interest on.

i recieved a call from this number but never answered the call having checked it out realise its not a legal company .so anyone getting calls from this number  ignore it and report it

these MDR people are calling my house for a friend of mine... they have my house number and her old street name as where she lived... have no idea why because she lived at a different number from me. Don't know how they have my phone number to contact her as we are not related, just friends. I asked what it was about and they said due to data protection they could not tell me, and they couldnt tell me what kind of company they were- just that they were MDR. taking legal action against them has anyone ever got what they requested from moorcroft?

I've been getting one-bells and calls that are hung up on as soon as I answer off this number for the last two weeks now. I'm about to report it to offcom. This morning they called again and I actually spoke to someone. I demanded to know why they were calling me. But they just wanted me to confirm who I was. I was refusing since I though it was cold call marketing. But after reading this page it seems even more sinister. But if they really are in stockport, I'd love to pay them a visit with some friends.

I'd had many missed calls from this number, but was finally in when they called! They asked for a person I didn't know! (I'd got a recycled number from Virgin Media!)
The person who called was rude, didn't tell me who they worked for and sounded quite annoyed the number was a deadend for him!
That was about a week ago, and they haven't called again!

I went for a job interview with these when I first graduated. It soon became clear that they are just a bunch of cowboys. In my opinion they are criminals. I will do a search at companies house to find out where the directors live.

These calls started up a week or so ago. Never leave a msg but call 1-2 times, daily during office hours. Then they tried last Sat - first w/e call.  This wk, they've tried me at 8.50am and 7.45pm so attempts outside office hours.  Of course, I'm wondering why as I've never missed a payment on anything.  Reading all this confirms they're a bunch of scammers.  Looking up their website, they do cold calling / telemarketing too so not always debt recovery.  Either way, I will ignore all calls. With all the ID fraud going around, only deal in writing.  Remember, U choose who U answer the phone to.  Don't let them get to U.

WHO THE HELL IS VICKY? SO DECIDED TO LOOK UP NR AND GOT HERE, SO NOW I KNOW WHO THEY ARE AND WILL SAVE NR IN MY MOBILE UNDER ''NOT TO ANSWER'' :)

They called me just now and obv new my name and mob number but had said that i owed £11 to a catalogue from over 4 years ago now how did they get my number as im on a contract ???? also i told them i was way to busy dealing with nwborn baby and toddler to be p*ssy footing around over 11 pound and the girl went''fine then'' and hung up.
