Report a phone call from 01614752875 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Hampshire| 2 repliesHad a call from this number tonight. He said he was Lee from MDR. Was I *****? I just asked who he was. He asked me to confirm my address. Said no, he could be anybody randomly ringing. He didn't like it. He pressured me to give address again. I said CAB now dealing with our glum finances and that a holding letter had been sent out. ie, don't bother phishing us, we've got bad credit rating lol. Then tried to tell him about our visit to CAB but he kept interupting me. I told him to be quiet and listen to me or I'd put the phone down. He still kept trying to get info. I warned him again and again. He shut up long enough then for me to say that CAB would be writing to them within 14 days and if that was what the call was about that it would make sense. I bet he wished he never called lol.
PS CAB advised us that regular phone calls can be classed as harrassment so tell them that and that all calls are being logged and will be reported/talk to a solicitor. Give it a go... - BeagleI had a message from this number saying can you phone Julie. Now that I have looked on here I will not respond to the call. Not in debt to anyone so guessing it must be a scam!
- MelThey called my parents asking about me and wouldn't leave a message!!! I changed my home number to x direcetory so now they are hassling my parents instead, stop unwanted people calling!!!
- LiaI received a call saying hi its vicky call me back on this number. I called the number and it is an automated message saying to call the number on the letter I have been sent. I haven't been sent a letter!!! I'm quite worried about this! Don't know what to do!

- David Wyn DaviesMoorcroft aren't a scam but they do have dodgy and barelely legal business practices. Had a call off them earlier saying they were from MDR - my other half had no idea who they were. We have two accounts with them (both 'three' accounts) but due to the snotty and rude attitude of some of their staff I am refusing to deal with them.
- David Wyn DaviesOh - and I forgot to add ... the information given by the CAB to the poster a few messages up is correct. Constant phone calls can indeed be classed as harassment under s.2 of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. Once you inform these companies that you are aware of this and that you will only deal with them by letter, the phone calls should stop.
- Adeleseem to be callin my house with no one speakin i am gettin really annoyed with this. Wen i do get to speak to some one they go on abt someone else i dont even no

- Lance| 1 replyJust had a call from these jokers.
"Can I speak to Lance, please"
"Who's speaking, please?"
"It's Julie from MDR."
"Who're MDR?"
"Is that Lance?"
"Who're MDR?"
"I can only discuss it with Lance. Are you Lance?"
"You need to identify yourself first. Who are you?"
Much more of this too boring to write down. I told her that nobody here was in the habit of taking anonymous phone calls, and she gave up, saying it didn't matter. That's alright then.
In general, I hate people who ring me up and ask to speak to me with identifying themselves first. I was taught a more polite way to use the phone.- Caller: MDR
- DavidWow, I'm glad I googled the number that called me! Had a call from this number 3 days ago on Saturday morning (Saturday morning!) about a so-called (and inaccurate) debt I owed an ISP from 2.5 years ago. I said I had documentation to prove I didn't owe them anything. He said they'd been sending letters to my old address (from 2.5 years ago) about it (funny how they never tried the phone number he managed to get hold of). He asked for my new address and I wouldn't give it, then asked me to email my information to them (after first asking for a fax or post). I later emailed the address he gave me asking for specific details regarding the debt to narrow things down and I've still not had a reply. Ignoring it after reading these posts I think.

- Ms WSeveral calls from this company; some silent, others not, the caller asks for someone who does not live here, and when pressed refuse to offer any other information other than "It's a personal matter" and identify themselves as calling from MDR. Tonight, after having read all the posts about them here, I asked who was calling, I was told Jill from MDR, I asked what it was in connection with, and she refused to give any further information. I then asked "MDR, isn't that the company that, according to companies house is no longer trading? No, she replied. Yes it is I said; you're a nasty, tacky, supposed debt collection company who attemept to bully people into making payments to non-existent debts over the phone, you don't even have any statements to send people do you, what is your name?"
"Jill"
and your surname Jill?
"Just Jill."
Come on Jill, you have a surname.
"Jill Southwood"
"Right Jill, I'm on the Telephone Preference Service, and I do not like the fact that you keep pestering me, the person you keep asking for does not live here; so I will be reporting you, and your tacky company to TPS, so do NOT bother me again!"
I doubt they will call again.- Caller: MDR
- MarkI have the same story as most. I've owed moorcroft quite a bit of money for a long time. I got a call this evening from a chap called Rob White, he said if I clear half of what I owed them that would be the end of it. I caved and gave them the card details, thought it was a bit strange after, so I called moorcroft on the number I had for them, the guy was a little unaware at first but he did confirm the payment had been made and the debt cleared.
Oh, the guy called from 0161 475 2875 and the number I have for moorcroft is 0161 475 2805- Caller: Moorcroft
- crystalpearlGot a call saying this is MDR asking for me, when I asked who they were they put the phone down! Are they so rude they cannot explain the reason for their call. The woman had a very stroppy voice so does no one have any respect when they make calls.

- Target for finiancial hostilityThis is Moorcroft Debt Recovery Ltd.
We had an old Egg card that just got silly with the monthly interest (over £90), Egg refused to help in any way when we got ourselves in financial trouble, so I cancelled the DD and refused to pay them. Sure enough, the debt was passed on to Moorcroft.
I've set up a direct debit monthly for just £50 and there was no questions asked, I'll finish paying it in 2017 lol There was no mention of interest.
Had a call today from them, just basically said This is Andy, you need to call us urgently on 01614 752875 <click>
Quite rude I think, if he'd have said something like 'can you please call us on 0161 etc, I might have done.
Moorcroft (like many companies now) use automated call stackers; 100 or so calls are loaded into the system, and they are all rang at the same time, the first person to answer get through, all the others are cut off.
Oftel regs say that all companies should leave an automated response when using call stackers, but sadly most don't, moorcroft is no exception.
Everyone I've spoken to are fairly pleasant on the phone.
MDR is a debt recovery company, they will try and track you down. If someone they are trying to get hold of used to live at your current property, it's possible they will hassle you. They need to be told that the person they are after has long gone and that you are classing their calls as harassment. They'll soon leave you alone.- Caller: Moorcroft

- luluI have been receiving calls from this co & after checking the comments on this website i did some digging around knowing that i didn't owe anything. Found out that it was money owed by an ex - he had used my name but his own address - its worth calling them back to check the details of what they are chasing!
- KarinReceived a call from this company tonight. Didn't answer the phone, they left me a voice mail message asking me to call Julie back on a different number. Think I will leave it then. They can call me and waste their time if they like!!
- DFAI sing 'Tom Jones - Delilah' until they hang up.
