Just tell them you either are already doing this for free with your bank (most provide this service now) or you don't have a mortgage / credit card etc and tell them your number is on the TPS (telephone preference service) which means that they are breaking the law by cold calling you on the number - normally gets them to hang up

I have just received a call from this number. I was extremely suspicious from the off and googled their number straightaway,I am based in Manchester and recogised this as a Manchester number. Female caller claiming to be from a financial service (Wyatt Service?) and alleged that I had made enquiries about credit. I was extremely suspicious and asked who they wished to speak to. They gave me a name completely different to mine. When I pointed out that I was not this person they immediately put the phone down. Dodgy does not even come near.

Rang again today and left a message which was basically them talking in the office??Sick to death of them phoning

Got a call from this company on my mobile. They called themselves 'Fresh Start Financial Services'. I told them I didn't accept unsolicited calls and put the phone down.

Got a call from this number. As I picked up phone, they hung up. Sounds like a scam company or the kind. I don't trust it for a penny. Do not engage in these kinds of businesses. Blimey, they interrupted one of the better songs on the radio this morning! Ugh.

Got call from this number today no message - returned call and got voice mail saying office closed but continue to hold agent will be with you shortly.

I worked for Barry for 1 month in Manchester and wish I had read all this first!!! After 1 month of work and £1,200 owed he has vanished and seems to avoid contact. Any legal advice on what to do now?!?!

You only have 3 months to make a claim to the employment tribunal so it depends when you finished working for him.  You can fill in the claim form on-line, don't worry, the tribunal understand that you might not know the law behind what you are claiming for and you can always explain yourself properly when it comes to the hearing.  Mr Young (Costello-Monelle) is a clueless idiot and just tells lies on top of lies and trips himself up.  I've got a case against him at the moment and his defence is laughable and will lead him into more trouble than the claim I made in the first place.

If you get stuck please feel free to ask for more specific advice but make sure you get a claim in against him/ the company straight away.  Who was it you worked for?

If you finished over 3 months ago you will need to make a claim for breach of contract in your local county court.  It's worth doing.  Let me know if you need any help

This individual Steve applied for a position with a business with which I was involved. It is called Wills Direct Limited. I had tried to set up a will writing business. Unfortunately it did not work out and the company has since stopped trading.

During the course of this attempt I personally interviewed and then trained Steve to write wills. The training took place via Skype and lasted for approximately 8 weeks. He was provided with this training and training material free of charge.

It was anticipated that Steve would work for us. Unfortnutaly, because I was living abroad at the time (hence the training over the internet) we only had a satellite office with restricted post. Government only. This was my one and only mistake however Steve believes that I ripped him off for £2k. I will let you all decide.....

I sent Steve a contract of employment which, because of the above postal service, was never received. I apologised for this mistake on my part but his response was that I was not fit to be an employer and he refused to meet up to resolve this problem when I offered to to fly to England and meet with him. I have the email in which the offer was sent. It was ignored.

I did not hear from Steve for some time until I received noticve of a claim submitted to the Industrail Tribunal for 2 months worth of unpaid wages and expenses.

To this day, Steve has not provided me with any indication of what work he undertook during those 2 months nor evidence of his expenses.

As indicated, I was living abroad and my mother was our representative in the UK. Unfortunately neither her nor myself were able to attend the IT hearing and judgement for unpaid wages was granted to Steve. This was an outrage. However, I paid some of the money personally to keep him from bothering my mother.

The business did not really get up and running. I was subsequently made redundent and did not have the money to continue paying however I did provide Steve with an indication that he would be paid.

However, seeking advice it transpired that no such payments should have been made and this was made known to Steve.

He then commenced enforcement proceedings against me through the Cardiff High Court. Interestingly, it made reference to the fact that no money had been paid to him. He clearly misled the Court. On speaking with the enforcement officers at the court they chose to take no further enforcement action against me or the company.

Subsequently, Steve issued proceedings at the Derby County Court. These have been transferred to the Blackpool County Court becuause I am pursuing a counter claim for the return of the money paid to Steve.

Steve has throughout this period chosen to pursue a bitter and vindictive action against me here.

Yes, I have a past like most of us. But I take issue with the fact that he alledges that I am dishonest and not to be trusted.

The £1000 that he says we owe him is now subject to proceedings before the court.....

Am I missing something but isn't the only reason we all came to this website in the first place because this Costello-Monell bloke or his company contacted us first, so he hassled people in their own homes and now he blames them.

As for Craig then everyone can see that he made a posting asking for advice as to how to get the money that Costello-Monell owed him and steve kindly gave him that advice and it worked.  How the hell can Costello-Monell have the nerve, it's not his past that scares me but his present.

Mr Young is not a fit and proper person to employ anyone,handle anyone's money or wages,let alone organise wills or claim back on insurance related issues.
Anyone who deliberately miss-leads a law society investigation into his own practice is a crook .Missing accounts, missing monies employees left without jobs etc yet he would take issue with the questioning of his integrity.
