I have had a number of calls recently from Winston.
I used to work in the mobile phone industry (sales) and smelled a rat the first time he called. I told him politely to sling his hook and hung up.
Last week my director mentioned this man from Google looking to put us on the first page of the search engine. (What’s that I smell?)
My director isn’t remotely clued into the internet so when he called again I pounced on him. It was water off a ducks back as he assured me he was the only marketing company directly affiliated with Google.( like Google needs an outside marketing team)
Even after I explained we are on the first page of Google already using the search words he suggested, he still couldn’t see what I was driving at!
Thanks guys, I can’t wait until he calls back. In fact I might even phone him, now I have his number.


Me and my partner run a local hire centre and I used to get nuisance calls from this company all the time, however when my husband answered and got duped into taking out the product it turned out not to be a scam, we were officially put on the first page in the top 3 positions and kept there all month round. I dont know if they are connected with google but they did get us business, so i dont really mind.

They pretend they are google sometimes! they siad they are googles matchmaker team!

after signing up with matchmaker i had a look on this website to see who they were and couldnt belive all these bad comments, i have been with them 2 weeks now and they have done exactly what they said they were going to do, my buisness is on google and since it has been there the money I have made it has paid for my yell.com account for the last 2 years. I would recommend this product to any of my friends who have their own business.

Him 'Can i speak to the person responsible for your website?'

Me 'We have three websites and they all come up on the first two pages of Google.'

Him Hangs up, but the call didn't clear left the line open for fifteen minutes made me feel better!

"Hello", said the voice on the phone.  "This is Paul; Paul (I forget his surname, but it meant nothing to me)' from Google".  Since, to the best of my knowledge, Google don't have a base in Manchester, UK, I politely told him I didn't want any and put the phone down on his incredulous protests.

Yes, I'm listed on yell.com like most of the other people who've posted here.  *sighs*.

This company employ pretty good sales guys and i have to respect their ways of selling within their industry.

However the company they work for are so stupid you wouldnt believe!

Just avoid them.

i recently recieved a call from this company who were offering advertising space on google. i asked if they were from google and they explained that they were google's resellers. i looked up the information then decided to give it a try for the month. since then i have recieved many enquiries through them as they did place me on google as promised. i do not see the problem with the company if they do what they say they will do weather they are from google or not?

i went with their advertising, they took alot more more money than i authorised them too and didnt give the advertising they were suposed to, i wouldnt have paid 1p for the advertising they gave me. also they refused my request for a refund, stay well away from match maker marketing.

match maker took four times the funds from my bank. how much did they take from you james?

sorry for the late reply, they took £345 more than was authorised and they just phoned me again today to sell me diffrent google advertising! match aker marketing are real scammers!

People on here who claim this company are good make me laugh and are obviously from the company. Why would somebody who was happy with their service be on here in the first place. Bet they never thought about that!

They called me today but luckily I wasn't in. Their number is now going to TPS I think.

We get a call from these people on average once a week.  They always say they're from Google, then backtrack when pressed.

They don't like to take no for an answer, but I have no qualms about hanging up on cold-callers.  If I'm in a grumpy mood I'll have a little mini rant at them about how much of my day is wasted talking to unwanted callers, and how they really didn't ought to be saying that they're calling from Google etc.

Matchmaker Marketing are the worst scam company I have ever dealt with. Agreeing to try there service for a month was the worse finacial mistake I have ever made - their employees don't have the first clue about how marketing or search engines work and their sales person lied repeatedly.  

They guarantee a 1st page listing on Google (sponsored links) but only if the searcher types in a single very specific search phrase that hardly anyone ever uses.  For Google Adwords I normally pay £30 per month and my ad is displayed over 10,000 a month - matchmaker charged me more than 4 times as much and my ad was displayed 200 times.  As the average click-rate on adwords is less than 1% of the number of impressions - this means that I probably paid Matchmaker about £70 PER CLICK!

Took a months trail with these muppets....over 25% drop in hits on my site following their advice. Shame on me for falling for it. Anyway...same as the rest who have been ripped off....month trail has seen two payments taken out of my account. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE....give your money for a homeless person if you are desperate to throw your cash away...at least they cant call you up every 2 mins to try and get more money out of you.

Watch out for this company, they employ anyone and everyone, dodgy company dodgy MD......

I am located in the US and received a call from this UK company claiming that they are associated with Google and are now expanding to the US. They supposedly have a US .com website, however their website has a UK phone number and all contacts are for the UK.  They said that the website was only activated yesterday and hasn't been completely updated yet.  They also said that they had no other US clients yet who could be used a references.  This made me very suspicious.  The comments on this website have confirmed my suspicions.

I signed up with this company recently due to what i must say was a very good salesman (his name was ian , cant remember his surname). Since being with them they have done exactly what they said they would . Have had two orders through Google already!!!!   Im happy

Everyone knows that nobody will find a site like this just to give a positive review. The 'good' reviews on here are from the company trying to pass themselves off as happy customers and so they are continuing to try and scam us even on here!

Thank goodness for sites like this giving us ripped off consumers a way of fighting back!

I also took out a month's trial with these people, after a very agressive initial sales call.  I wasn't going to take up the offer, but the sales girl said she guaranteed that I would make my money back in the first month, and that if I didn't I would get a full refund.  Guess what?  I got no extra work in the first month, and when I asked for my refund, they said they didn't do that and that I wouldn't have been promised it!!  In other words, they called me a liar, and very conveniently mine was not one of the sales calls they recorded!!  I wonder why?!  Needless to say, they'd better not debit any more money from me as I have an email from them stating that they are cancelling my account as I requested.  I'm also going to have a chat to the office of fair trading to see if they've broken any rules.  AVOID THIS LOT LIKE THE PLAGUE.
